My wife Taylor and I wanted to start a life together but had no idea how immigration works or where to begin the process. I have arrived in Canada with my wife and kids a few years ago, unfortunately, we didn’t pass our first hearing with our previous lawyer. Usually dealing with lawyers and courts can be stressful and complicated, fortunately, we were lucky enough to find Mr. Ed Corrigan and his amazing staff, who made our experience extremely positive. Because of the safe third country agreement with the U.S, we didn’t have the right to have a second hearing, so our case was transferred to the federal court, however, Mr. Corrigan and Mr. Selvin were able to convince the federal court to overturn the decision of the IRB, and eventually we had the right to have a second chance, for the record, this is something extremely hard and rare to happen. Mr. Corrigan represented us in our second hearing and was able to get us a positive decision. We just can’t express how thankful and grateful we are for this man and his Incredible staff. His preparedness and knowledge of the Palestinians legal position is outstanding. His argument and persuasion before the court member was really superb. Arrogant and too judgemental. Won't recommend at all. I called up this law office to ask some questions related to travel during PR process. First thing I asked was to setup a 30 min consultation as I wanted to understand the situation and the risks before making a decision. I was ready to pay for their service. We actually started with a larger firm through a work permit situation, through the employer that wasn't going well. Would never recommend. We spent over $2,500 and our application had not even been processed. I had met with Ed Corrigan months prior and asked what documentation was required and what our options were. He spent less than 5 minutes on my questions and did not disclose some important information and spent well over an hour talking about how wonderful he is. That appointment cost $350.00. Sadly, I ignored that red flag. We were misguided on several occasions by Selvin, including a suggestion to go to the Jamaican Consulate in Toronto to correct birth certificates (the Consulate does not offer that service - why would these "professionals" not know this?). We were instructed to go "a place on Dearness Drive" for fingerprinting - no address or contact information was provided. We were told we required a number of documents that were not required at all. I could go on with the number of problems we had.

Would not recommend. My wife and I spent about $1,800 of our hard earned money between consultation/retainers. We hired Selvin to help us with a parental sponsorship/supervisa. We switched over to a supervisa after “the system crashed while our application was being submitted.” We decided to end our relationship with them after seeing little to no progress/results for about 9 months. We never received any copies of our file or copies of the attempted applications. We have decided to do the process on our own with the help of a co-worker that just brought over his in-laws through a parental sponsorship he completed by himself. He also spent less than we did on the whole process.

After what I thought was a productive consultation, and a very helpful follow-up email that gave my wife a chance to review our options for her immigration to Canada, I had a near-impossible time getting a hold of anyone from this office ever again. I've reached back out to Selvin and Li Tian by email and telephone a number of times since my initial meeting and have been either entirely ignored or fobbed off with vague excuses about being in the middle of a meeting or wanting to consult someone else who seems to have been on holiday (from which I assume they never returned). I can understand being busy or simply not being interested in my business beyond grabbing a couple bucks and blowing me off, but not even being able to demonstrate a meager level of professional courtesy by returning a phone call or email is pretty disappointing. The last time I managed to get Selvin on the phone, he told me he was in a meeting and had seen my last email and really wanted to touch base with me soon before hanging up without allowing me to get a word in. That was a month ago. Not that I think you were ever planning to, but don't bother returning that call.
