Worst experience with a law firm initially when we dealt with them, continuous headache as we unfortunately had to continue working with them. Zero professionalism or respect to clients needs and time and now almost 3 years still dealing with the headache of their neglegance, They don’t even contact you when there is a problem a new law office does; and the crazy part when we try and follow up it’s all loose ends. NEVER WOULD I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE!! And I am not mad at the person who did but I wouldn’t go back and I have informed them as well as anyone looking for a lawyer this would not be a helpful decision acting with Cooper and Cooper Law. If you are looking to pay thousands of ???? cash in extra fees, be given zero notice or respect to closing requirements, and within 45min of them close be required to get a certified cheque for almost $10000 then stand in line to have your time wasted because Cooper Law is here to help with being the cause to a lot of extra unwanted stress ????

Stay as far away from this office as you can! My father had them draw up his will, then he passed away and the office just automatically decided that they were going to represent the estate. I, as executor NEVER retained them (there is no document saying I retained them and no retainer fee was ever paid) and now they are going to collections to try to squeeze out payment for a vague, non-itemized bill for services I never asked for. Yes, I asked for 2 letters to be written for debts owing to the estate, and when I saw the completely shoddy letters, I decided that they were too unprofessional to use, so I didn't ask for them to be sent to the recipients. I then got a bill 6 months later for $650. Now, magically the bill is over $745 with no explanation. These guys are BAD NEWS! Stay away!

I asked for legal work splitting farm land they took long and and expensive routes stretching our dollar as much as they could. After 2 months they did not even achieve what I needed and after expressing my frustration and instead a apology or trying to offer to recollect what was the issue to get back on track they said that we shouldn’t work together anymore and sent me a whopping bill for work that offered no value to me. I had to used another lawyer whom compiled the task within one week. Mentioning the the effort of Mr.Copper and his assistant Ms. Peever with my new lawyer and Wilmot Township representive they were shocked how long it took and the fact the matter was not resolved after Mrs. Peever had spoke with the township and Mr.Cooper spoke with my realtor on what was required. My oppionion of this lawyer and assistant is they are very rude. If you need something real simple like cookie-cutter real estate law maybe they are okay? But with something more outside of the box I would caution as they may take you on a long and EXPENSIVE journey as they did with me.

We were referred to Chelsea at Cooper Lawyers by our previous lawyer as the coming deal was a little more complex than a typical deal. To our horror we had a last minute bank financing issue with a closing on an investment property. We literally had 3 days to turn the deal around. the worst law firm to deal with. they never tell you what you need till last min on your closing day. had to come up with additional $10000 for my closing within an hour since they never got in touch with me till 4:15 pm and their office close at 5pm and i needed the bank draft for the amount for our closing otherwise we were going to be charged extra because we didn't drop the check off... and when they finally called us back we found out the also over charged us on our bill from what we discussed in initially. Cooper called and started being super rude over the phone and keep in mind we were refered to his office by one of his good clients. Save yourself lots of headaches and go somewhere else... You need a type of a lawyer that will help you along the way because your sale is not done immediately. our sale finished 3 years ago and i am still running after them to fix my issues and i absolutely hate dealing with their office.

We can only echo the excellent reviews Richard Cooper and his team received. As first time home buyers, we were not entirely familiar with each step between actual purchase and closing date. Richard Cooper’s law office did a fantastic job in guiding us through this process. The communication was always highly efficient and responsive. Despite some time constraints towards the closing date, Richard and his team reviewed and prepared all documents in no time. During our final appointment, Richard explained the purpose of all documents and their legal implications in detail. He answered all our questions while simultaneously entertaining our two boys (we had to bring them to this appointment due to weather-related school closure). In short, Richard was reliable, friendly, easy-going and, most importantly, always highly professional. We were at the office about 4 weeks ago for a will, which was supposed to be sent to us by email for review. 3 weeks and 3 phone calls from us, and still no follow up or communication from Cooper Law office. They keep saying they'll look into it, but don't. Update: the lawyer's office contacted us and resolved the concern shortly after this posting. We have dealt with Cooper for 3 house purchases as well as 1 house sale. Those transactions went perfectly, so hopefully this was a one off situation!

Unprofessional and rude. I booked an appointment with Mr. Cooper to discuss wills and estate planning. My wife attended the consultation with me. 3 months later my wife received an invoice billing HER for the meeting. At no time before or during the meeting did I (or she) receive any indication that there was to be a cost associated with the consultation. I wrote a letter stating this fact and requested clarification. Mr Cooper responded in his letter that: "I don't sell shoes, I don't sell clothing, and I don't sell groceries." In his opinion, I had an "unreasonable attitude". And as evinced below, he feels put-out because he did not provide any indication that the meeting was being billed. Hey Mr. C - how 'bout being up-front and transparent? It's service like this that gives attorneys a bad rap.
