Everything seemed ok at first I had used Colleen before 17 years ago. We hired her to close our mortgage and finalize a new one with a name change and adding me to the deed and mortgage. The assistant Anne was rude from the get go, she’s short tempered and makes excuses for not following through with emails and getting documents. She kept telling us all issues we were having were the banks fault. The bank said they weren’t responding in a timely fashion and never requested documents. When I finally had enough I called them both on their behaviour and the bank apologized and Colleens office just pointed their fingers at the bank again. I insisted Colleen tell the bank in email what she needed from them specifically and she flat out refused. When I asked why she wouldn’t I never got a response. Then when all was said and done it still almost 3 months to get out money that she was holding back. Anne said the check was sitting on her desk for weeks waiting for me to pick up! But never called or emailed to tell me. Then a week later after I called, I call back still no check!! Anne is as rude as can be making more excuses and says the cheque should be there I mailed it Friday a week ago. She told me a week ago she mailed it on Thursday.. then she starts telling me how hard it is for her and she was sick and she’s not going argue. I said I just want this done and she just keeps talking at me... I hung up. Lesson learned. If the first time you talk to someone and they are gruff walk away. Oh, not to forget we were charged about 800.00 more than another lawyer we spoke to to clarify the charges. While we got a bill she took her fee off the top before we agreed and her bill was lump sum only disbursements we itemized even after I asked for an itemized list of her rates and what they were for. Update we also were just informed she never contacted the city to inform them of the change and update and pay the final utility bill. Now we have an additional 570.00 to pay on top of our regular utilities. Stay away from this law office.
