Your team really impressed me with how fast you prepared all of the closing documents and registrations... three business days from the day my contract went firm. I work in sales and contract admin for a builder, and that's pretty much unheard of. In addition, you were able to work with the mad scramble to get approval for my i.d. without delaying closing. This is my first ever review on Google. I must say I had such a horrible experience with Pihl Law Corp and I feel cheated and treated unfairly. Law means Justice which I don’t see exist with this firm. To be very honest, Pihl Law Corp fees and other charges are not reasonable as compare to other law firms however we stuck with Pihl Law as our relator told us that we’ll get a piece of mind and quick services through this firm. My wife and I bought my house in November 2016 and Peter B and Laisa B worked on our file. I made the full payment of legal fees, disbursements, gst and other fees as requested by Laisa and Peter. Now after 1.4 years I received an email from Pihl Law that I have an outstanding payment of $100. When I emailed Peter asking why I am being told to pay this amount after the deal is closed and full payment (legal fees, disbursements, gst and other fees) was made way back in 2016. Peter replied: “its amount that was required to be paid to a third party by your bank, the firm paid the amount as a courtesy on your behalf.” I emailed him that this amount should have been reflected in the total amount that was requested of me to pay during the deal. This is an unreasonable request and if there were any miscalculations on part of Pihl Law Corp's end I should not be held liable to make that payment. They should own their mistake and pay from their end rather say if the payment is not done by the end of next week they will charge interest (so ridiculous) Client care should be the motto of every company/corporation and one should always expect justice and fairness. To end the story, when we met with the lawyer we were asked about our plans for future. When we told that we will set up our private practice in the coming years we were sugar-coated and given the card of another lawyer with the assurance of best services. I don’t think we would ever do business with this firm unless they realize their mistake and rectify it!

My husband and I recently relocated to Kelowna and decided to buy a home at the end of August 2016. Peter Borszcz of Pihl Law was recommended to us by our realtor for conveyancing. Unfortunately our experience with Peter and the law firm was less than impressive. I should have been concerned when the first e-mail I received from Peter (via his personal assistant, no doubt) was a copy and paste template that didn't even address me by name. But I persevered since every other recommendation that our realtor gave for service providers had turned out great. We made arrangements via e-mail to meet Peter to go through our mortgage details and sign paperwork on the completion date. We were completely flexible when we booked an appointment with him and expected to have at least an hour of his undivided attention to ask questions and review things in detail. Boy were we wrong. First of all, Peter showed up 10 minutes late for our appointment. And from the moment he introduced himself he was aloof and seemed very disinterested in our file. He flew through the paperwork so quickly that we had no time to ask questions. And when we did manage to get a word in edgewise he'd scoff or brush us off like he didn't have time to explain the intricacies of the transaction to us. After about 35 minutes of harried paper flipping he explained that he was in a bit of a rush as he had another appointment to attend. And with that he left us in the meeting room - without a handshake, without a thank-you and without any sense that we were valued clients. Completely unprofessional. To make matters worse, he called in an assistant to finish the signing with us. She did her best but had no background on the file and had to make things up as she went along. We were beginning to get concerned about the quality of work, so when the appointment was nearly over we asked for photocopies of the paperwork for our records. We were handed over to yet another person who said they'd make copies and call when they were ready. That call never came. It took several days of e-mails and phone calls back and forth to get the paperwork right (they spelled my husband's name wrong, got the downpayment calculations wrong and missed crucial information required by the lender) and get printed and electronic versions of the package. In short, Pihl seems like an utter disaster of a firm. Disorganized, unprofessional and not concerned at all about their clients. I will be telling all my friends and colleagues to stay as far away from them as possible.

Sean, Please pass along my thanks to Peter Borszcz doing the work for BMO and billing us a reasonable amount for our transaction. I don’t know how the bank selects their preferred lawyers, but it may be worth some effort to sell your firm as a reasonable place to do business. As you know I had a transaction with BMO and they used another prominent law firm for our Line of Credit for our business and the invoice was so obscene BMO paid half for us. In any case, I am glad they used you and thanks again!
