My Dad retired to this town and gifted me a vehicle. I didn't understand that I required a notarized statement until I went back to my own province. I contacted Mr. Baker who drove to my Dads place and got the statement, and emailed it to me. When I asked about payment, he said this is what we do in small towns and there was no charge. This only reinforced that my Dad moved to the right town but also should I need legal advice this is right fit my me. Thanks for you saving the day!

That’s correct - I am not your client. A relative of mine is/was your client. I was aware at all times that I was not an “heir.” Regardless (this may surprise you...), I loved this person and was devastated after they passed to realize that the wishes expressed were what you wrote - almost word for word. Their death was imminent yet you did not think or care or maybe know enough to ask (the right) questions. I never stood to gain financially from their passing. I loved and fought tooth and nail for them to have their requests honoured and respected. This was a betrayal of great trust. Unfortunately it can never be made right. I was sharing this with a friend yesterday and she asked who the lawyer was. When I responded with, “Adam Baker,” she gasped and told me a very similar story in her own family. She had nothing to gain financially either.

Worst real estate lawyers ever. I was having difficulties with the sellers so Baker and Cole didn't want anything to do with it. Never returned a phone call. Refused to talk to the sellers lawyer when I asked. Luckily I've bought 3 properties over the last few years so I got everything done through my my own means. But none of it through Baker and Cole.
