Once again amazing ! I am writing this review as I always refer my friends to this firm. THEY ARE THE BEST ! My friend was pulled over at the us border on a random check and in turn got charged with a refusal. My friend did not know that refusing to take a breathalyzer was a criminal offence. In fact as soon as he realized it he asked the officers to take it but they refused him. In turn he was charged with a refusal. Aitken Robertson specializes in DUI and cases such as this.. so it was an immediate call to them that i put in for him. Right then and there they took over. As usual, they offered a payment plan and of course they took care of everything all the pre-trial meetings etc. Justin was the laywer for him and not only is he the MOST thorough he is the most out for justice. He found the errors that the officers made and he used it to my friends advantage. He went above and beyond to find the best resolution with the crown. He went above and beyond to give my friend all his options. And the best part is that NO CRIMINAL CHARGES. It was reduced basically down to a speeding ticket as a result of Justins hard work. The whole firm is stellar. They take time to go through your disclosure to confirm any and all details are correct. The justice system is a corrupted one and im thankful these lawyers know how to find a way to help us through that. Justin once again did an amazing job. Susan at the firm is great she helps out with payment plans etc. Brenda is great. Robert of course its just a great team of laywers. Do not go anywhere else ! Low quality legal service, constantly shuffling between lawyers, on top of this when I lost my income as a result of COVID they continued to harass me on a daily basis to make payments. While I was unable to make my rent and insurance payments Aitken Robertson was sending harassing emails and phone calls. I would never recommend anyone use their services for any reason especially since there are more reasonable and professional legal offices within minutes of this location.

AVOID AT ALL COST. 2 things someone in law should have, ability to communicate, and attention the detail. Mark Cardy failed both. No reply after court dates AND sent wrong document to sign as plea (one with an additional offense I didn't commit.) Still waiting for an official word from Mark 3 weeks after the court date. The MTO sent a bill to my house otherwise I would still be in the dark. The rest about demerit points, insurance, the extra help/document with "final accounts and report" you said I'd receive? Don't worry about it Mark, I'm fine now. Don't be fooled by a few reviews. Not worth the risk, get a better Lawyer.

I got charged with a DUI last April and had gotten my lisence suspended for 90 days car impounded and could barely get to work and back without stressing about where I would find a ride. I soon called Aitken Robertson and got in touch with Jordan Tekenos-Levy. I requested and received a free copy of the "Fight the Charges! A Guide to Common Criminal Charges" book as I was interested in learning a little bit more about how the criminal system in Ontario works. I found this book not only informative, but it was also written in plain language I could understand. The chapter on sentencing was most informative because it broke everything down, until I had read this book I was not aware you could enter a guilty plea but not get a criminal record. I was surprised to see this book was written by the lawyers and staff at Aitken Robertson, including Mr. Aitken himself! This book would definitely be a great starting point for anyone facing criminal charges in Ontario.

I had a business I built from ground up making $180k a year faced a minor provincial charge of selling a vehicle without license despite being ordered to sell it by a Judge in a small claims court - had to change lawyers due to conflict interest- case spiralled from a $1500 fine to incarceration with this firm - Overall ended up in court 43 times business destroyed and lost 6750 customers and reputation tarnished, lost owned business premises and had a major house fire I could afford insurance, and faced being homeless due to foreclosure prior to this my assets was well over a million. Aitkens sent me into court with a rude belligerent Student At Law instead of a Lawyer we contracted thus breaching rule 802.1 (Limitation of Use of Agents): I was physically locked out of plea deal meeting of which the opposing council broke the oral deal, forced to be a puppet to plead guilty to charges of failiurr to provide a future performance contract - despite the fact that this doesn’t apply to none face to face transactions . The representative told me to shut up in court and just agree - even though I knew it was WRONG - I wanted to prove my innocence he wasn’t having any of that - even when I was trying to park the car he told my wife he would have a bench warrant raised to compel me to appear - I was the client his paying customer.... Forced to plead guilty on behalf of a corporation that had legally closed down a month prior, being given incorrect information by this firm that I Needed a car dealer license to sell auto parts despite a letter from the Ontario Auto Recyclers Association - This firm was tasked with something minor that was already winding down and made a mountain out of a molehill and left myself at the verge of being jailed they ignored the fact that OMVIC was prosecuting myself with a paralegal also breaching 802.1 who referred to court on transcript that Was Crown Counsel when in fact under the Administrative Act section 10 prohibited employees of OMVIC from referring to themselves as Crown Agents. I have gone through six years of bitter hell because of this firm and it’s ineptness in preventing a Misscarriage of Justice I have been lied to by there employees I’ve had judges on recordings be abusive to myself as well as OMVIC employees turning up at my new place of work lying to get access to myself in the workplace and threaten me with incarceration as well as drive a Tahoe into a manager to the point that Belleviile PD trespassed OMVIC from the location, I have been physically harassed by Centre Hastings OPP and followed for miles until they turn around after I stopped, I have faced online threats of violence involving firearms to the point of RCMP intervention this firm did nothing to protect or represent me apart from forcing myself to close a business of five employees and it’s online presence and reduce myself to claiming Ontario Works and then agreed with the judge that I’m to pay $10’000 in fines and $64’000 in restitution based upon a joint income of $716’00 a month breaching sentencing guidelines of R v Fitzgibbon of the Abilty to Pay which then set me up for Breach of Probation charges and further appearances, I have had to report to probation officers with the utter dregs of society and be subjected to belittlement from the entire Justice mechanism- I as a result of your actions have been through the courts nearly 50 times on the same docket to the point that fresh judges from Ottawa had to been brought in, I had charges filled dragging on 17 months until I filed a Jordon motion to have them dismissed but then refiled by a sister agency thus dragging me again into court. Because of this litany of ineptitude and dogma and egotistm on behalf of their student at law it destroyed my business and lifestyle but miraculously did not destroy me all I can say is because of this bunch of carpetbaggers Thank You - I needed learn some humility but I was comfortable in my old life I had worked hard for I did not hire a lawyer to destroy all I had built you may as well have been the prosecution incarnate.

In May of 2015 I was charged with domestic assault in Toronto, Ontario. Justin Marchand was the lawyer who took on my case. The guilty charge could have resulted in jail time and a mark in my permanent record. Justin was able to negotiate the terms of my charge with the prosecution, minimizing it to a peace bond. After all was said and done the price I paid was exactly was quoted initially and was well appropriate compared to other practices. Nasif Abdullah is an amazing lawyer and was an absolute pleasure to work with. I hired him for a very tricky DUI case, and in short, he got all charges withdrawn. I was in a situation where I was not the driver of the vehicle, but once police officers arrived to the scene of the accident, they assumed that I was in fact the driver, and proceeded to charge me. I initially hired a lawyer from XCopper, and it was a terrible and expensive experience and made me lose any faith I had in getting the charges dropped and proving my innocence. I then found Mr. Nasif Abdullah and set up a meeting for a free consultation. I intended to shop around this time instead of rushing into a decision about a lawyer, but after chatting with Mr. Abdullah for a few minutes, it was a no brainer. He listened to my story, actually believed it, which was extremely important, considered all of the evidence I had and explained to me the reality of the situation as well as the possible outcomes. Mr. Abdullah really made me feel like he was going to fight for me and do all that he can. It was clear from the start that he was very confident and knowledgeable. The previous lawyer I hired presented me with a plea deal, which I would have gotten myself without paying $5000, and pushed me very hard to take it. Mr. Abdullah on the other hand, said I shouldn’t take a plea deal (a terrible one at that) since I am innocent. A lawyer that believed my story and believed in my case made all the difference when it came to how the case was handled and the end results. The first lawyer made it clear that he either didn’t believe me or that his stance was neutral and so he didn’t care to fight for me and tried to take the easy way out (he was paid upfront) by forcing the plea deal on me, disregarding any evidence I had that could be used, and ended up dropping me as a client when I refused to take the deal. In addition, I am a timid person and have never had to deal with the police or a court case and it was easy to see that I could be taken advantage of. Mr. Abdullah made me feel absolutely comfortable and validated. He ended up working with the crown attorney and getting a full withdrawal. Thank you so much Mr. Nasif for the incredible work you did for me, it changed my life moving forward and I will never forget that. I very very highly recommend Nasif Abdullah. Hopefully myself or anyone I know is never in a situation where they need a lawyer, however, this is without a doubt the only lawyer I will work with. I can’t thank him enough.

Totally recommend this place as we are form out of town and Mark Cardy made this experience easy and this guy really knows his stuff, our 17yr son was charged for careless driving as the car belonged to us but his friend hit gravel and it ended up in the ditch in a cottage road. Great team of DUI lawyers. I got involved in a pretty bad situation last year when I was charged with impaired driving + over 80 (2 charges) that also involved a motor vehicle accident causing property damage. The evidence was pretty stacked up against my favor with only a 50/50 chance at best of winning in trail through a few violations on the police's behalf. After about a year and a half, Yasmin & Justin Marchand (lawyers on my case) were able to avoid a trial and were able to negotiate a plea deal which resulted in a conditional discharge. This conditional discharge included a 1 year driving prohibition plus a 6 month probation, but NO CRIMINAL RECORD and no conviction which is exactly what I was scared to have. All in all it was a big win for me. I would like to thank these two fantastic lawyers and the rest of the team for their hard work, honesty, professionalism and determination in working hard to keep my career in good standing and give me a second chance. Driving is a privilege and I was lucky to get away with this after clearly taking advantage of it. Where do i start! My lawyer was Jordan Tekenos-Levy and right from the first appt he was extremely easy to deal with, non judgemental and confident in his thoughts. When you face a "so called criminal charge" for the first time in your life, believe me it is not easy and you get nervous like hell! Not knowing what to do, I looked up the yellow pages and found this law firm and called. Believe me, this call was all I needed and I got to Talk to Richard Aitken who guided me all the way to the final court appearance where the criminal charges were dropped and I got away with a fine. Richard, along with his wife was great and I could actually argue and try to put my opinion forward into the proceedings. I got charged with a dui back in Jan 2016. First off when I went to the lawyer it was in 2015 and they told me the price of a little over 3000 with all taxes and I paid my deposit. But they had a price change starting of 2016 so I ended up paying almost 300 more. I ended up getting a 1 year suspension with the option of getting my licence in 3 months if I install the interlock as well as do the back on track course. So I asked the lawyer if I were to just wait the year can I bypass the interlock. They told me yes, which was a complete lie. I've just recently did the back on track and I was told by the MTO that I'll have to wait until the follow up of the back on track and I'll have to have he interlock in my car for a year. All in all I'd strongly suggest not using Nathan as a lawyer and avoiding this office if at all possible.

In January 2014, after a few too many drinks, I was involved in a one car accident in Oshawa which left my car totalled. I panicked and decided to flee the scene of the accident on foot. Roughly three hours later I was arrested by police and provided a breath sample at the police station. My reading was more than twice the legal limit. I was charged with impaired driving, over 80, failure to remain at the scene of an accident, and failure to report an accident. I felt I didn’t have a strong defence and was eager to plead guilty so I could start serving my license suspension immediately. I decided to call the offices of Aitken Robertson and it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I made the initial call on a Sunday morning and Mr. Aitken returned my call within a couple hours to talk about some details and schedule an in-person meeting. Mr. Aitken told me that DUI cases are often very technical and it would take a lot of work for the crown to prove my guilt. Mr. Aitken and his team worked diligently on my case and were in constant contact with me to provide updates. In May 2014, Mr. Aitken called me in to his office for a meeting and I was told the charges were decreased to careless driving. No criminal record! Given the circumstances of the case, this was the best outcome I could have ever hoped for.

Extremely impressed with the work of this firm. My lawyer is Phil Stiles and I’ve never had legal representation do so much homework and digging for my case day and night. At a time where I felt hopeless he handled everything at all times very professionally. Every meeting, every appearance, every phone call gave me that much more confidence and understanding of the situation. When the trial date finally arrived I was given a list of all my options with advantages and disadvantages meticulously outlined. I was facing a D.U.I, jail time, and a 2 year driving suspension to which after I would have had to pay for back on track with a breathalyzer installed in my vehicle. Jami at Aitken Robertson was a great resource for professional legal advice. He was honest about my case and handled the situation well. I didn't quite receive the result I wanted, however, he provided a sound and logical explanation as to how to navigate the options I was left with, which was a better result than the original option. The only minor improvements I would suggest would be maybe some updates with the situation every so often (30 days or so) even if there was nothing to report.
