Absolutely love jasper
In my opinion, Jasper is one of the best places to go to for a vacation in western Canada. The views here are absolutely phenomenal both in the summertime and wintertime. There are countless mountains to explore, with plenty of campgrounds to spend a weekend at enjoying the mountain air. There are countless lakes and rivers to explore, with glistening clear water, and unforgettable scenery. During the winter time there are a couple excellent ski resorts to hit up for an all around amazing skiing/boarding experience. If you like the outdoors, Jasper is definitely worth checking out!
Stunningly beautiful with postcard views. A wonderful place to explore and see elk, sheep, bears and birds
Breathtaking area! The wildlife, scenery and trails are magnificent and well worth your time! I only wish we had more time in the park.
Amazing and more there is so much to see. Every year we go back there was something new again. See yu soon
A great time was had even with COVID it was very busy though. Awesome!
I am pretty lucky to see these “guys” on the way where I am going to the Jasper
As a truck driver I drive through here on a regular basis! I think it's great ???? lots of awesome views and great opportunities to see wildlife. But remember to give them their space.
This park is good for night photography, hope the smoke will clear soon , park will remain normal , amazing park, lots of activity to do
Always love are backcountry camping trips here ... this year we got snow on Sep 1st at Coronet Creek Campsite. Tonquin Valley offers very scenic views as well :)
Park is much improved over previous years so clean nice shopping experiences beautiful nature and easy access to all sorts of things
A friend advised me to drive through Jasper National Park on my way to Banff National Park and I must say it is the best experience since I moved to Alberta. The scenes takes my breath away and we stopped along the way to take several pictures. We also branched to see some quick sight seeing places. I also recommend this for anyone that can pass through this park.
Love it
I’ve had the privilege of working in the park crushing rock twice now. The entire area is beautiful with so many amazing things to do a places to explore. I’m certain that I tried nearly every place Jasper has to offer in restaurants. Every place has it own unique atmosphere and selection of delicious food. I got to do some exploring a few times on my days off. Athabasca falls are stunningly beautiful. The Jasper Sky tram to the top of the mountain is breathtaking. Such an amazing view. There was so much more I didn’t get to experience. I will definitely be back with the family to explore even more.
Spectacular National Park with breathtaking views, stunning amounts of wildlife and natural habitats. I cannot thank the people of Jasper and surrounding areas enough for keeping this place so beautiful. I've been here more than half a dozen times and I always get the urge to go back. Under the shadows of the mountains you get a feeling so humbling, you'll never want to leave. Makes you really appreciate the beauty this world can create.
The park is amazing! 10 dol per day per person or 40 dol for the family/car and when you enter a park, at the gate where you buy the pass they ask how many days you will stay and which parks you will visit, and the same pass is for all federal parks.
Awesome! Lakes are nice, water is clean and clear, camp ground is well managed and staff are friendly
The gem of the Canadian Rockies, in my opinion. It is less commercialized, less crowded, and more preserved than Banff NP. It feels more untouched by humanity, has a great little town at a central location and is filled with beautiful wilderness and wildlife. I would choose Jasper over any other National Park. In my opinion, if you go to the Canadian Rockies and don’t hit up Jasper, then you really missed out and didn’t see what it all has to offer. AB-16 Road alone had so much wildlife it took our breath away. In a 5 minute period we saw elk, a fox, a mountain goat and big horned sheep. We also saw a mama moose and her calf in Jasper. The only thing we didn’t see were bears, but it was our understanding that when we came they went up in elevation one last time to get the last of the food up there before coming down for the last berries for hibernation. Don’t miss out on Jasper. Make time for it!
I loved the drive from Banff to Jasper. It’s Magnifique
Awesome national park in Canada...You should go at least once in your life...
So much more than I expected. I've visited many US and Canadian National Parks; this may be my favorite. At every turn, on every hike, the views just get better and better! The hiking is splendid. The interpretive signage is well done: helpful without being intrusive. Safety warnings are appropriate... Written with the assumption that you have basic common sense. Interpretative signage reflects a high degree of respect for & sensitivity to the role of first nations/first people in the area. Great pains have been taken to preserve the land and protect the animals while also providing visitors with peak experiences. Trailheads are well marked; trails are well maintained. Park literature provides all you need to know in planning your hiking: length, level of difficulty, grade of accent, approximate time required. Lots of pull out spots on the roads keep traffic moving. Rangers are uniformly knowledgeable and generous with their time and with Park maps and literature. Don't miss the Edith Cavell ice fields area. It's a limited access area and you have to line up at the visitors' center in the a.m. for passes, but it's well worth it! Though it's actually closer to Banff, a day devoted to hiking at Lake Louise (Lake Agnes, etc., with the tea houses) is not to be missed!
Amazing...just amazing place to visit with family or friends
Jasper park is beautiful. The drive on highway 93 is one of the most beautiful in the world.
Jasper national park is the combination of beautiful mountains. The drive was beautiful and specially during fall. We visited so many places in Jasper and every place is unique.
Amazing natural beauty, Canadian Rockies are the best, best place for hiking, camping. Make sure you bring your food and enough water it’s really expensive over there , try to plan in mid june to mid July to get the best view
Really one of the best scenic road in Alberta.
Love Jasper National park! It's usually not as busy as Banff. There's some amazing hiking and backcountry trails
Amazing park. When visiting, take your hiking shoes, otherwise you won't fully enjoy the spectacular views, the adventure filled hiking trails, and the numerous lakeviews. Lots of activities to do. We spent three days there, but wish we had stayed longer.
Jasper is such a beautiful place to visit! I've been several times in the summer, and I made my first winter trip just before Christmas. It's been a weird winter and it was unseasonably warm, so there wasn't much snow - the quiet and the majesty of the mountains were just as good, and we watched the sun rise over Pyramid Mountain. It was a powerful experience! We planned to do some astronomy as well since Jasper is a dark sky preserve, but it was too cloudy.
Adventures place to visit, love the view Ad hike at Mount Whistler
Very good place to feel nature .jasper national park of Canada is the most beautiful park.the lake is so clean and it was beautiful.there’s loads of nice hikes and cool things to see and do.The town of jasper inside the park.i love jasper in the summer for camping ,hiking and breathtaking mountains.
Absolutely breathtaking! Everywhere is a perfect scenery for you to enjoy and photograph. We also got to see wild animals crossing the highway. It’s so stunning and I will most definitely come back!
A place that feels heavenly and peaceful to be one with nature. Definitely a place recommended for a visit.
Awesome peaks of mountains and clear blue sky in mid April. Should keep a winter jacket in spring. We spotted elks and deers in jasper.
It is really breath taking the color now in the fall are beautiful
This place is majestically beautiful ????. There are so many natural wonders you can see.
Absolutely stunning i will give four stars due to the traffic that no one is trying to deal with!! Lots of animals especially around dinnertime (dont worry i dont hunt it was the animals who were eating) and beautiful spots to pull up and look over the absolutely stunning scenery. Every one needs to see jasper just once in their lives.
Beautiful relaxing time here, nice hiking trails, friendly town
Wow just wow.... enjoyed it more then Banff but it's more camper/hiker oriented. The town of Jasper still has a normal cityish feel with bars and restaurants just on a smaller scale compared to Banff.
It is worth the drive the view is abating throughout , many lake and 2 ice glaciers you will see ! Also waterfalls and the size of the mountains is just breadth taking !
One of the greatest places on the Earth ❤️❤️❤️
The park is gorgeous, breathtaking and pristine. The air is clean, if you are a city dweller - you can't imagine the clean crisp air of the park. There is so much to see that you cannot do it in one trip. It is a national treasure.
A mom+daughter camping trip together made a beautiful scene for a memorable camping trip, one of my all time favorites!!
You can take stunning pictures everywhere, beautiful mountain and water, and you can see wild lifes around you.
Great place to iddle, walk, discover, chill... Great place to spend vacation!
Wonderful place for traveling!
One of the most breathtakingly beautiful places on Earth
Just like heaven! A LOT OF awesome places to visit, so many falls, canyons, lakes, and last but not least the Icefields parkway itself!
Nice trails. Beautiful views. Seemed like less people, even on a long weekend on the trail to Moab Lake.
Absolutely stunning views. If the weather is good I would highly recommend hiring a canoe on Pyramid Lake...only $40 for an hour and just stunning views of Pyramid Mountain. Not much to do in Jasper town but lots in surrounding area like Maligne Lake etc
Nice place the mountain view is so beautiful. The lake and river is so clean and good to relax. Most of all the Athabaska falls is so nice place and the view of the water and mountain us so beautiful.
Amazing park and definitely the best national park in Alberta. Very beautiful and scenic mountain views. Walking and biking trails are amazing and is good to keep you busy all day. Would definitely recommend in the summer and winter months, and overall a great place for family trips and get aways. Would definitely recommend
Jasper National Park is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, at just over 4,200 sq. mi. Take note of the size and plan your driving time. Distances can be deceptive and when wildlife visits the Icefields Parkway, everything stops. Also plan for weather conditions, which can and do change quickly. The park is located in Alberta, north of Banff National Park and west of Edmonton, along the border with British Columbia. There are areas where services are not available. The park includes the glaciers of the Columbia Icefields, hot springs, lakes, waterfalls and mountains. The park was established in September 1907 as Jasper Forest Park, and was granted national park status in 1930. In 1984, the park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Several noteworthy mountains, almost all over 11,000 feet, (Mount Andromeda, Mount Athabasca) wonderful mountain lakes, (Bow Lake, Sunwapta Lake, Maligne Lake) epic waterfalls (Bow, Sunwapta, and Athabasca), great rivers (the Bow, the Athabasca, the Sunwapta) the snow-coach tours of Athabasca Glacier, the cruise across Maligne Lake to Spirit Island, a sky tram, and the Glacier Skywalk, wildlife viewing, camping, hiking, fishing and kayaking, are just a few of the attractions/activities that can be enjoyed. The roads are in good shape and well taken care of, although do watch for unexpected closures and winter restrictions. We allowed two days and that was enough for us, but not really enough time to spend a lot time at any one location. There are also plenty of hotels and eating establishments along the way for those who prefer to ‘camp’ that way.
The place to go to get rid of the mass tourism of Banff. If you are camping and don’t have reservation i recommande the overflow campground near Jasper City.
Went on a classic cruise at Maligne Lake for 1 1/2 hours and stopped at spirit island. Lots of great pictures were taken. Staff were awesome and very knowledgeable. Great experience. Highly recommended.
Such amazing and beautiful scenery, and abundant and diverse wildlife. Roads and trails are very well maintained, as well as attractions and campgrounds. I've been coming here since I was a child and have brought my own children many times now. I love that very little had changed. Jasper maintains the natural beauty and avoids beginning commercialized or too 'touristy'.
Beautiful! Amazing to see more of God's marvelous creation!
Its amazing if you wanna experience serene beauty and encounter some wild life then this is the place you should visit
Hiked the skyline trail. It was unforgettable. Did it in two days, stayed at snowbowl campsite and then hiked out. The trail is hard but worth it.
Beautiful, smaller and less hectic than Banff. Parking easy to find
Some of the finest views in all of Canada. Well worth the effort to get there and visit.
Loved exploring the Canadian Rockies
Personally think it is better than Banff.
Amazing views, more mountains and better hiking areas but quite tiring if you came unprepared
It is our happy place. The best place in the world to us.
It's -30C in the last week, but the view is really pretty and worth to go. Due to the coldness, the river is frozen everywhere so you can do ice walk, ice climbing now. Unlike banff, there are not many public wifi here... but you can go to visitor center and people are nice there. The river here flows to the Arctic ocean. Walking under -30C is kind of crazy though. Shouldn't try that. The traffic is not that convenient like Banff. Not sure if there is bus. No Uber, but only expensive taxi. Hope the public transportation can be better. Also you can walk to everywhere in theory. But it's too cold now.
Beautiful park, incredible wildlife. Plan for more days than you think you need!
Amazing views!
Jasper still has the small town feeling it has had for the last 50 years. It is one of my favorite places to visit for so many reasons. The scenery is spectacular, there are hiking trails for all abilities, great restaurants and people are friendly. There's something here for everyone.
What a place to see. Please take the time to decompress and walk the trails and venture off. The waterfalls, mountains and animals were more then I could take. A must see.
Heaven on earth
Amazing scenic drive by the mountains! Hands down one of the best views I'd ever had in my life! Undoubtedly highly recommended despite the long drive! ????
It's one of those places you never want to leave, and when you do leave you are already talking about coming back.
Jasper is absolutely incredible. Go if you have the chance and spend all the time there that you can. There’s so much to see. It’s beautiful. It changes you. So much wildlife everywhere. Lots especially down Maligne Lake Road. Check out Miette Hot Springs and Maligne Lake, Pyramid Lake.
Jasper national park is only 1h 45min away from my house I love it there. Almost any weekend I have off with my family we go and for the past 20 years I always find new sights and new places the people are kind and it's always an uplifting atmosphere! You cant beat the views of the Rocky Mountains there incredible. There way better then the swiss in my personal opinion! Jasper national park is highly recommended!
Amazing. Breath taking views. Has affordable food shops or expensive. Rentals and equipment for all types of adventures. Come make lifetime memories.
I could poste thousands of pictures. My expectations were met and exeeded. Great hikes fir all levels. Wonderful scenery. The best national park I‘ve been to in Canada ???????? Weather can change fast. Tje weatherforecadt was always terrible but we enjoyed every day. Proper clothing is necessary. Come equipped to the park. If you need something- there will be chances to buy it but it might cost a fortune. Bring Bear-Spray! Enjoy!!
Awesome day trip along maligne valley to maligne lake , lots of amazing scenery , drive slow and watch the ditches , go early as to get there before the buses doing the tours, daybreak to 830 is good time to start, but always wildlife
Good park with so many water cascade on the road and wildlife life and the skywalk and some other attraction on place.
Absolutely stunning views and a perfect drive. If you go during the week, you can be the only car on the roads for miles in some parts.
Amazing!! Hikes were great, very well maintained, good signage. People very friendly and helpful. Campground excellent. Shower.houses very clean.
The Jasper to Banff drive is once od the most beautiful places in the world. The mountain peaks and vistas are breathtaking! The wild life is fabulous! The rivers and waterfalls are awe inspiring! There are hikes and river-runs, fishing and photography for absolutely everyone to enjoy. You simply must experience it. It can be ad simple as a drive or add intense as biking and hiking all along the way.
It's amazing park. A lot of things that you can discover by your own. And you can see a lot of animals too. Everyone can enjoy the beautiful landscape through their own eyes.
Really awesome park. Lots of trails and sights to see: glaciers, icefields, moraine lake, maligne canyon, etc. High chance to see wildlife: elk, mountain sheep, mountain goats, etc.
Great space for health, adventure, and relaxation during pandemic times. Well kept. Clean. Informative signs for directions, costs, and closures. Easily accessible for all physical capabilities.
A must visit place in Canada. Jasper still holds a small town feel and not as commercialized. Nestled between anow peak mountains Jasper has limited accommodation so plan ahead. Beautiful lakes, canyons, hot springs and endless hiking and cycling trails. Jasper is one of the largest dark-sky preserve, plan ahead and you can experience a night sky like never before. Must visit here.
Amazing days in Jasper National Park, great mountain and lakes with lovely hiking trails...we will come back
Saw many wildlife. Their trails and views were magnificent!
Very beautiful, lovely. Kids and ourselves enjoyed the experience very much. Excellent.
One of my favourite in Canada. You can really have so many different landscape from the classic lake and mountain to the moon landscape. So just loose your self with your car and photo machine ...
Place to go to find some peace !
So much to see and explore, you would need a couple of days or weeks to get to experience a tiny part of it. Just go prepared as roads and overall everything is potentially approachable by wild animals.
Always loved jasper can never get enough of it.
I am sure Jasper has more to offer… but someone really needs to turn up a notch on their promotion of this place. I hope it will one day be as vibrant as Banff. It was a little disappointing as we past through.
Not up to my expectations. Wait time is long + too many people in one tram. I would highly recommend banff gandola instead.
What a magical place where you wouldn't think these things exist.
This was amazing, lots to see and explore. Plenty of pull offs for sight seeing and photos. There are camping locations throughout the park. Plan more than a couple of days if you want to fully enjoy all the sights. Worth the trip, you will not be disappointed.
Such an epic place. The drive from Jasper to Lake Louise takes the cake. Waterfalls, valleys, glaciers galore. In the town of Jasper stop at the old firehouse and learn about the wildlife and also about how the pine beetle is actually helping return the park to it's native structure. Well worth a trip!
Jasper is one of the most beautiful places in the world and Jasper Lake is no exception. The water is cold almost all year around but the lake itself is really shallow. You can walk out quite far and never get waist deep, just be careful of the currents running through here though. Absolute gem!
Best place in the world. Nice town, great people, and incredible scenery. I would recommend checking out Maligne Lake, Athabasca Falls, and Pyramid Lake. Jasper Park Lodge is worth visiting as well.
I highly recommend Jasper National Park. Significantly less touristy and visited compared to Banff. Amazing views and wonderful hiking available. If you enjoy the outdoors, far from the crowds, and want to experience the Canadian Rockies, Jasper is a must.
Super views around and clean washrooms with good service.
I much prefer Jasper National Park because in my opinion it's not over run with people rushing about in a frenzy. It's laidback, loved and cherished by all of us and I believe we've taken great lengths to preserve and reserve our footprint within this natural paradise - Let's keep it that way.
All of that corten steel and glass really fuels the design enthusiast in me
Always great scenery and plenty to see. Never camped but facilities look adequate and clean. Roads well maintained but really the scenery is not seen elsewhere perhaps only rivalled by Norway
Evolving, but still maintaining much of its rustic charm, Jasper is one of the nicest parks in the Parks Canada system. There are tons to see and do here, making it a great destination for not only daytrippers, but also visitors staying a little longer. Miette Hot Springs is a great spot to relax, with some nice hikes close by. The SkyTram offers a chance to stand on a peak without needing to be a pro-hiker, though one can challenge oneself with an extra kilometer hike to the (true) peak. So many other wonderful spots to see.
Have so many wonderful Lakes around. Recommend 5 Lakes, Maligne and Jasper. Can see many interesting animals along highway 16, including bears and elks.
I love this park! So beautiful, so much wildlife, so many things to do! Easily one of the most beautiful parks west of Saskatchewan. Right on-par with Glacier National Park. Definitely recommend both parks. Beware as there are construction areas on the highway this summer, making it a bit infuriating. I know the roads need to be maintained but still...
My favourite Alberta park. Beautiful trails and amazing scenery.
Stunning scenery mile after mile. There was something exceptional around every curve. I think my mouth was open the whole trip!
Seen more moose here than I thought I would ever see. Moose and bighorn sheep will come up to your car and lick them. You have been warned.
Wow, if you are going to have a trip overseas, then pick the Canadian Rockies.
Amazing places to see, mountains, lakes, waterfalls, canyons, etc
What can i say!! This place is everything!! So mesmerizing and beautiful nature every corner where your eye reaches!! Was sad that my trip got over!! Try to go Sunwapta falls in morning during sunrise. And after that visit athbasca. Maligne lake has a cruise tickets to go to spirit island so i didn’t go there but you should if you have time.
I Get the peace of mind here.
The more I go there the more I appreciate this park. Lots of natural beauty.
Of course Jasper is a 5-star visit for everyone. When I came to visit Calgary friends, we all drove up to Jasper over Canada Day weekend. Other reviews copiously cover all the diverse beauty, so I don't need to. Instead I wanted to call attention to the huge swath of dead and dying trees in the region near Jasper town. A mountain pine beetle infestation is causing a major wildfire hazard. Warming climate has allowed the infestation to proceed northward where winters are no longer quite cold enough to kill the insects. Authorities are culling dead trees, but the mass of them is extensive. It was one of the first things I noticed when we got to that area. I've posted a few pictures of the widespread dead and dying trees. Pretty sad situation.
The best national Park I went in in Canada and it's super different as you pass through the park. The camping is areas and their system is stupid its camping but RV seem to park there and sleep stupid as campers want the camping area but all the RV steal it and who wants to camp with RVs
Jasper blew my mind away! As soon as we got past the entrance we saw a big elk crossing the road! Definitely go to the hot springs, it's amazing at night!
This is a peaceful alternative to Banff National Park. We went to Banff first and enjoyed getting away from the huge crowds in Jasper. In the three days we were here, we hiked Valley of Five Lakes, Maligne Canyon, Path of Glaciers at Edith Cavell, Bald Hills at Maligne Lake, and Sulphur Skyline. My favorite was Sulphur Skyline followed by Bald Hills. Both were more challenging hikes, but the views were definitely worth it. Maligne Canyon was pretty, but because it was easy, it was very crowded. We didn't see any wildlife while hiking, but we did see a lot while driving, especially on our way back from Maligne Lake. I thought the views were just as good in Jasper as they were in Banff. The lakes are prettier in Banff, but there were great mountain views everywhere you looked. This is definitely a must stop national park in the Canadian Rockies.
Brilliant Park. Couldn't get enough of this place.
Beautiful mountain scenery and animals that are semi tame and not afraid for you to photograph them.
A magical place - the scenery and wildlife are incredible. Plenty of opportunities to explore, hike, and experience this amazing place
Beautiful park to visit. We go there at least once a year and still it’s beauty never cease to amaze me. The beautiful city of Jasper is nested between the mountains. And the highway 93 or the ice field parkway is the most beautiful and scenic drift that I ever took.
This place is beautiful. The snow capped mountains are gorgeous. Canada is blessed with a wonderful nature. Would like to come back one summer.
One of the most beautiful areas in the province of Alberta. A must see if you ever visit the province!
A must see. Jasper is beautiful. The entire park is stunning. If you have a few hours, the tram ride is a must. The views at the top are breath taking and you're on top of the world ! There's even wildlife at the top. Bring a shell jacket and sunscreen.
Wabasso Campground is nice, beautiful, quiet, relaxing and right next to the Athabasca River. You can walk for miles along the bend of the Athabasca River while just steps away from your tent! I can't ask for more.
Its Jasper! Incredible natural beauty
There is alot to see, bunch of lakes, ice field glacier walk and tour, skytram, snowboarding and skiing, and most important Maligned Canyon. There is pyramid Lake near Jasper town, and the island is available for rental for wedding and stuff. How cool is that eh!
Heaven on earth ???? enjoying right now in jasper
Spent Canada Day long weekend in Jasper. Beautiful place and not too long of a drive from Calgary
Awesome National Park. Pictures of Edith Cavell
It is one of the amazing place I ever being to. It's amazing scenic drive is breathtaking but I m very disappointed from the staff at the entrance as there was no information about no network or no gas station for next 200 kms. I think there should be a warning sign station that most of the camp sites are closed and there will be no gas station through out the park and they should put emergency phone through out the park as in case someone needs help they can call someone...
I was only passing through Jasper national park this time, didn't have a chance to stop, stay overnight and hike. I love coming here, always so much to do and see in this beautiful place. Definitely a reason why they call it God's country, my words couldn't do this place justice. You have to see it yourself, my personal invitation to the park. I highly recommend staying for a while, perhaps a good week, enjoying what nature provides. The colors are amazing and it's constantly changing too. Hopefully we can get back to normal soon ????..
This is a nature's gift to Canada
So much to do, hiking, biking walking down the main strip, drinking, eating and so much more. This past trip I saw the most wildlife I’ve ever seen in jasper. I’ve probably been here 25-30 times and never gets old.
What an AMAZING experience! An absolute must see if in Canada
Have discovered a whole lot about this place in the last two years. The scenery is mesmerizing and the chance of spotting some kind of wildlife in their natural habitat is almost certain. The town itself offers some basic lodging options and has a decent variety of restaurants and eateries. But I always make a point to camp-out at least one day in wapiti or whistler campground on the southern edge of the park.
Stunning views. Not too crowded. Trails well maintained
Beautiful National Park
In one word “AWWWSOME”, nice park with shady woods. It’s having a nice circumference you can walk, jogg or do cycling here. I fall with the the pics of Jasper National Park and want to visit this place once a while in my life. Highly Recommend for all especially the “The Canadians” ????????
If you have never been, and enjoy the outdoors, then you need to come here. There are great hiking trails with stunning views, lots of areas for rafting, and plenty of bike trails. If you aren't up to being quite so active, there are also plenty of tour companies that can take you around. You are sure to see some wildlife, even if you are only driving. The other night, just around dusk, we had an elk cow happily eating grass just outside our cottage, not ten feet from the window. I would strongly suggest coming during one of the shoulder seasons, unless you are a fan of big crowds.
Breathtakingly beautiful, every which way you look, travelled thru this region during our recent Canadian holiday, in June, highly recommended. A must see! You won't be disaappointed! Cheers
This park is a great balance between the incredible beauty found in Glacier and Banff without all the business. There were no bad hikes. The people were friendly. The camping was great. Wildlife was everywhere. I highly recommend spending at least four full days here.
A good boat ride on Maligne Lake can get you to the other side with a quarter million dollar toilet. Pyramid Lake is beautiful and tranquil, there are many trails and campgrounds that worth exploring.
When you drive through here, keep your eyes peeled because there's a good chance you're going to run into (not literally!) some amazing wildlife. This last time, we encountered a small herd of white tailed deer. They were kind enough to congregate in an area we were able to safely pull off the road where we could quietly share some space with them. Please DO NOT FEED the wildlife. The unfortunate thing is that they're clearly used to being around humans as we were about 5 - 10 feet from a buck and he wasn't bothered in the slightest. Please just quietly spend a few minutes in their space and then gently move along. Beyond that there are beautiful vistas everywhere you look! If you're a shutterbug, this is going to be a wonderful drive for you and Jasper Park has hundreds of places throughout where you can pull off the road to take loads of photos. Take your time driving through here. Enjoy it for what it is, and leave it as you found it.
Wonderful national park...
I love Jasper, the views are mind blowing, the wildlife that you encounter are amazing, all around great experience.
Doesn't matter how many time you visit Jasper National Park it always seems like it's your first time. The beauty of this places captures your heart and you can never take in enough of the secrene beauty of this place. It is however an entire different experience to visit the park during the summer and the winter months, there are numerous spots to visit and explore in this park and one day is just not enough to see them all. A must visit for all.
Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rockies comprises a vast wilderness area of Alberta province defined by glaciers, lakes and peaks like 11,033-ft.-high Mt. Edith Cavell. The Icefields Parkway, a road from the town of Jasper, passes subalpine forest and the immense Columbia Icefield. Outdoor activities like hiking, camping and skiing are popular. Native wildlife includes elk, moose, bighorn sheep and bears.
Amaizing experience
Beautiful scenery and plenty of peaceful hiking trails
just dont know how to describe...you need to visit just to experience how beautifull this park and wildlife is
The most beautiful place in ???????? must visit before you die
Lovely visit after an ethereal time in Banff
Less touristy than Banff. Great character. So much to do within a small radius of Jasper!
The beauty that is British Columbia!
I went to Jasper from Edmonton. It was a beautiful drive, seeing the prairies turn into mountains. However, it took us 30 minutes to get a park pass, and the day after that it was raining (on July 12).
What can one say about Jasper? Beautiful towns, gorgeous breathtaking views, amazing wildlife and incredible lakes and hikes. Best place on earth.
These pictures are all from the same day. You never know what you're going to get in the mountains!
We are Gorillamoves.ca, we drive through this beautiful park alot it's one of our favorite places on earth
Very very pretty place to pass though it’s to big and cold to go every where but it is extremely pretty but also very cold, you walk around like your inside of a pictures . You never get sick of the beauty of this place
Beautiful place to see, wonderful rivers, lovely lakes. And above all else, the most beautiful collection of wildlife
Amazing place to go for summers. Parks, Lakes, the views, falls, canoeing, hiking...has everything. Must see kinda place.
Everything is a tourist spot... wildlife is everywhere, you can see it even while driving! This is just last week we saw, caribou, grizzly bear, dear, elk!
You can’t go wrong with Jasper. Less crowded than Banff and the mountains and alpine lakes are amazing!
Nice place to visit in Alberta
What's not to love. Its quiet. You're in the mountains. Enough said.
A great park with tons of wildlife and spectacular views! I cannot stress how great this park is, and I hope more people can experience it.
Magical and super natural with so much rugged beauty
Beautiful views. The pandemic has been keeping Jasper very quiet so it's a great time to check it out with a lot less of the usual tourists.
Be prepared to be amazed. There's something to do for everyone. I went with my elder parents and they couldn't hike much but there were easy hikes and many gorgeous picnic areas.
Love this are so much. My happy place.
Wow what can I say? I've wanted to go to Jasper for years and it was amazing! We loved the hikes, the animals and wildlife, and of course the little town of Jasper. There were some great restaurants and overall we just had a fun time exploring the town. I would recommend staying in one of the park facilities. We stayed at the machine shed and loved it!
Love Canada's National Parks! So beautiful! Plenty to see and do!
Always a beautiful drive. Saw so many animals it was like a trip to the zoo!! Def Worth the $20 park fee.
Stunning! Be sure to check out Mt. Edith Cavell.
Really nice place, we visit in October, lots of RV places are closed. You can get power and shower at Wapiti Campground. One of the best thing was the DarkSky with lots of stars !
Whale back trail and laughing falls are a must. Be prepared for 20km though and amazing views all over. Tons of other water falls and rivers to see as the trail progresses. Would do this trip again in a heart beat. Love Yoho and all the scenery it had to offer.
Best place to visit, nature, mountain, animals, and rivers. Weather was awesome in August
Beautiful place if you haven't seen you really should
Great place to visit and see lots of amazing wildlife. We went on a guided tour that was very informative. Definitely worth a visit.
Easy traveling and lots off animals.
Great place to go hiking and camping. We went in September and it was great. It was 30 degrees drying the day...got a bit cold in the night though. Lots of nice view points. As with any other place, wildlife can be hard to spot but we had some success.
One of my most favorite places to be!! Gloriously content and in awe.ofnthe natural beauty.
Stunning place! It's also a great spot to see wildlife. I saw bears, moose, elk, deer and more. Loved it!
One of the best national park to visit. Awesome views. A must visit.
Wonderful, lazy week camping. The neighbors on each side were quiet and very friendly. Both from Canada but from far off provinces. I'm from Alberta but it is still a treat to visit. The town site itself is great too but every year it is getting more and more about money and more and more cramped. There is a nice reen surrounding the Town buildings to lounge on or take break partway thru shopping for souvenirs or unique items. Highlight in town for me was an rock and fossil shop where I could have spent hours. Took the tramway up to the top, enjoyed it immensely. Beautiful views of surrounding park from waaaaay up.
Nice camping spot. Can't wait to see how it is after the big makeover. Lots of photo opportunities. Many beautiful sites reasonably close to drive to then go for a scenic walk. The town is close and has a lot to see. Micro brew pub. Shops and more.
Breathtaking views, definitely one of the books!
Jasper took my breathe away the first time I visited a few years ago. Still years later it never stops astounding me. There is so very much to see. So many different types of mountains, lakes, animals and campgrounds to see and stay in. If my photos say anything its take your time. Enjoy each moment. Really take in the breathe taking views and keep coming back. Cause there is always more to see.
Stunning views, places to visit and the town is a chilled, friendly place. Excellent .
Beautiful scenery and majestic. Icefield parkway drive is a must
Through my road trip this was the spot where I found the most amazing things and wildlife. I will strongly recommend to carry out bear spray all the time in all the trail's even the easy ones. The trail's give you amazing views and then you can go to the main town for food and coffee.
Beautiful place, worth the stop.
Loved the hiking trails throughout the park and our camp site was spacious and clean. Lots of great places to check out around the town of Jasper. Miette hot springs is a lovely place to relax in the water surrounded by beautiful scenery. Staff throughout the park were all friendly and informative; willing to to educate, keep people safe, and direct you to other enjoyable areas of the park.
Beautiful park! Cannot wait to come back again.
It’s definitely worth to go!
Pure nature...Best places to go and visit.
Jasper is so vast and huge! It has its own characteristics and beauty. One week is not enough for you to explore this. There are plenty of things you can do here, like. Hiking, walking, camping, kayaking, cycling, boating and so much more! Wild life is everywhere. Elk, deer Nd moose is just around the corner. We love this place specially the scenic view drive from Jasper to Banff! Amazing view of mountain and landscape. Highly recommended.
Jasper National Park is one of the most beautiful places to visit in this world! The tranquility and serenity of the scenery will put anyone’s tormented mind at peace. The fragrance of the boreal forest will clear your mind, and the sound of the winds passing through the trees will bring your mind to a stand still! There are endless points of entry to explore within it’s wilderness, and it’s almost a guarantee that you will encounter its wildlife!
When I say no photos can do this magical place justice I mean it. You must go this place… should be on everyone’s bucket list.
Beautiful. Lots of scenery, hikes, rivers, lakes
Beautiful and gorgeous. What else can I say... you can definitely watch more animals here than Banff. Need to stay at least a few days if not weeks to do this whole park.
Quite stunning! Picturesque lakes, lush green valleys, snow capped peaks, colorful alpine tundra, flowing rivers, you name it.. would rate it better than banff. Be prepared for some steep hikes
One of Canada's great national parks. Great hiking and great attractions. Jasper is a very good base of operations while visiting the area and the park.
Traffic near entrance for road surfacing other then that drive was a Breathtaking sight throughout!
Love Jasper!!! This was at the parking lot headed to bridge 6 in the Maligne Canyon. Nice trail that is well cared for and used. Lots of great spots for pictures.
Jasper national park is amazing. Spent a week in october to explore banff, toho, and jasper and by far, jasper was the most amazing park. The mountains are amazing and you escape a lot of the tourists that plague banff and the lakes. Highly recommend the edith cavell mountain and the sulphur skyline trail. Both around 3 hours round trip but were very experienced and athletic hikers. There was some snow but dont let that deter you! Makes an even better view at the top!
The best place on earth. Makes me happy whenever I go there.
Always Beautiful and rich with indigenous history. Sadly however, the pine beetle is destroying the forests of the park. But that's not the parks fault. I urge people to visit Jasper before the pine beetles completely take over.
Incredibile Park, simply amazing! A lot of wildlife, not crowded, and tons of possibilities to do hiking.
Beautiful and lots to do. Always enjoy our visits here.
What a special gem that this Earth has given us. The tall sharp mountains, emerald water, rushing waterfalls, and the occasional bear or elk make this place truly magical. I would highly recommend adding this to everyone's bucket list to remember how beautiful this planet can be.
I truly wish I could never go home from this place. Banff was a complete waste of time, if you plan on coming out this way, skip Banff and go right to Jasper. Have seen multiple bears, a moose, long horn sheep and an albino squirrel! The mountain views are better here anyways!
The jewel of the prairie province, the mountains, the lakes and the cozy town! Beautiful scenery, wild animals, an abundance of trails and roads to explore. Drive, walk, hike, boating or skis to your heart contents.
Best mountain park in Alberta! While further from a major city, this is too it's benefit and it seems a little less busy/touristy than Banff does. There are many amazing sights, lakes, hikes, rivers, wildlife and more. Marmot offers great skiing in the winter
There is so much to explore at Jasper national Park that you need many days to see it all. Natural beauty, wild life, trails, Flora and fauna, glacier and a small beautiful town. During this trip we watched bear, sheep, ibex, and an animal resembling lama. We were lucky to be here on July 1st and enjoyed a wonderful fire works that was of the same quality as that of a bigger city. My family voted for Maligne lake to be the best of all.
Will highly recommend. Enjoyed the time being there.
Saw a lot of this and that
Jasper National Park has been on my bucket list for quite some time, recently I was able to fulfill a dream, a dream of being close to Nature one of the most beautiful creation we from this earth inherited from above! From seeing Caribou and Elk graciously crossing in front of my car to riding on the Ice fields parkway, the landscape views of tall rocky mountains were a mesmerizing feast for any eyes from 1 to 92! Lakes are turquoise blue with glacial water and are abundant around Jasper, there are plenty to see and do and town offers good quality food and plenty shopping. I am very surprised with the fact that people in Jasper are very much into fitness, hiking and nature, very healthy choice that a few of us have. I give jasper 6 stars out of five!!!!
Beautiful and breathtaking gorgeous place.
Jasper is the northern Alberta town recently visited during the end of tourist season. Markdowns on souvenir shopping delighted many. Trees damaged by the beetle infestation sad to see. Lots of wildlife making preparations for the winter ahead.
Incredible national park. Athabasca Glacier at the Columbia Icefield is my highlight. Driving the Icefields Parkway to Jasper is one of the most scenic drives in the world.
Jasper national park has amazing places, one more beautiful than the other. Since it is a national park, you have to pay a fee per day. I believe they charge about $7 per adult per day or $ 20 per family per day but check the website before you go. We went in October, and some lakes water levels were low compared to Spring. Although some lakes were shallow we were still able to capture beautiful pictures. Next time I will plan to visit during the Spring or Summer.
Jasper and Banff are two best national parks in Canada. Lots of glacier mountains and beautiful lakes.
Magnificent place, just beautiful. You can easily find wild animal around, bear, deer, fox, big horn goat. Explore And do the best hikes ever! Be careful driving at night! Slow down! I totally recommend to go up the mountain with the Skytrain, the view is just impressive and nice short hikes on the top.
If you like scenic views while driving you’ll love this, mountains and glacier views the whole way to jasper. You must have a park pass to get in but 100% worth the whole thing. We went twice, the second time the smog from the fires in the united states took over the views but created a unreal experience. Instagram is cb_kikrby
Great hike, valley of the five lakes
Edit 2021/05/02: still coming here every chance I've gotten over the years. Noticed some changes in the landscape, but it is still one of the most beautiful places I've ever had the privilege to visit. Many fun hikes to do, and gorgeous views in all directions. And the beauty doesn't stop coming once the sun sets. Jasper National Park is one of the best places to see the night sky. Highly recommend visiting and seeing what it has to offer. A great place to get away from the city. Tons of wildlife, plenty of things to do, and lots of beautiful things to look at while relaxing.
Enjoyed our camping trip to Jasper National Park. Stayed at 2 different campgrounds, pocahontas the first 4 days and then whistlers the last 4 days. Pocahontas is more like camping and more secluded but away from a lot of the things a person wants to see and do when in Jasper. Whistlers is closer to the "action" but with hot showers it does take away from the camping experience. That being said I do like my shower in the morning, LOL! Only down side was the smoke but can't do anything about that. It was also nice as the park is quieter without our American cousins coming up north to enjoy our parks. Enjoy your trip to Jasper.
It is so gorgeous out here. So pure. We are bit a tiny spec in this great world being around these mountains just shows us how tiny we are. Everyone needs to see this once in their lives
So many amazing hikes and tours. You could spend a week here every year and not likely see and do it all ❣️
I've always adored Jasper Park. This year the pine beetle has left its mark and it is truly astonishing to witness the devastation that has occured to the pines of JP. The forests of the park are strong though and I do believe that it will always be one of my favorite places on Earth.
One of if not the prettiest place in the country.
Must visit
The pandemic has changed our lives. We can’t travel as we used to do that. But at this moment, looking at the photos that I took at Jasper national park a few years ago, watching those floating clouds surrounding the feet of the mountains, I still can feel the sense of mystery and freedom. So I decide to write this review and to share the photos with you. I hope that I can revisit Jasper in the future, to smell those clouds again.
It was great had a wonderful time the local staff and people are so nice and very kind. Makes me want to move to this beautiful little town the architecture is incredible the scenery is amazing the food is delicious
The views are stunning in Jasper! Get out and see as much as possible.
Pristine. Drive slow to see Elk, Caribou, Bear and sheep in the midst of majestic scenery
Absolutely beautiful. Mountains views in all directions. Breathtaking!
Visited many years ago now with my pa, on a cross country motorcycle trip. I'll never forget the goats! It's so fun to hike around among the wildlife, take in the amazing mountain views, and just breathe in, knowing you are a part of this beautiful world.
With a toddler and only 4 days in the park, we were limited to the beaten path. Annette Lake was like a dream, a postcard with fresh water and sunshine. The town of Jasper had everything we needed, including a lovely Farmer's Market. The air was sweet and piney, and the people warm.
Great road trip and beautiful natural experience.
Pretty amazing landscape... beautiful place to get in touch with nature
Amazing amazing amazing!!! The wildlife and nature cannot be put in words!
This is the wild national park where you go for adventure.
Amazing place. We spend 5 days but it was not enough. Not even close. So many places to hike and see. If you like to fish buy a day pass and check regulations. Drive at speed limit due to a wild life crossing roads, take you time. Issues with traffic as heavy machinery is being moved etc. So allow for extra travel time.
We just love Jasper was a bit Smokey this trip because of the fires in BC. It's such a beautiful Park to drive through. And a walk through the town
An adventure for everyone
Great place to visit. Incredible scenery and wildlife. We stayed at Whistlers campground and the elk regularly move throughout the campsite.
Absolutely stunning hiking. Bonus park entrance is free during Canada's 150th
Gorgeous national park. So many different lakes and hiking trails. The water was perfect to dip into on the hot summer day. The town of Jasper is very nice as well, with lots of restaurants and ice cream shops. They also have a lot of shops to find the touristy Jasper merchandise. It isn't as busy as Banff but it is just as beautiful. The lakes and hiking nearby make it better than Banff for me. The only complaint is the 4 hour drive to get there.
Try making it to the small land that is around the big one. It’s priceless.
It's like the Grand Canyon, pictures can not capture the beauty of this location. You must see it to believe it. Awe inspiring!
Saw so many wild animals, will definitely visit again
So amazing. Didn't want to leave. Days and days of sites and hiking trails. Be prepared for temperature changes. Ranged from 39F to 75F in late August. Definitely coming back.
Jasper should definitely be part of everyone's trip to the Rocky mountains. Even though Banff is perhaps the better known park, the drive up to the town of Jasper along the Icefields Parkway is just stunning. We had some rainy weather even though it was the end of August, but that was preferable to snow! It is definitely worth making some time for day hikes so you can see much more.
Great place to visit, Jasper is a little less busy than Banff National park. Great hikes, and beautiful vistas everywhere. Shopping and restaurants provide a break after a great day outdoors.
An unforgettable gateway to relax and recharge, with breath taking scenery.
Such a magical place. So lucky to live so close to all this natural beauty.
Great time. Nice town.
Jasper never disappoints. There is so much to see and do here, and it is kept so clean by the hardworking and friendly staff! Tourists can be a little annoying, but it can be much more fun when you join 'em! The trails are marked well, the campgrounds are clean and well maintained and it's always a great place to visit.
It was great one and I will be visiting again soon. Jasper is beautiful ????and the people are very friendly and that makes my stay extras special!!
Just amazing. Words cannot describe the amazing adventures that we had.
Beautiful park and turquoise lakes. Not crowded. Valley of 5 lakes is a family friendly trail with a nice view. Strongly recommend!
Know as the hidden gem of the Canadian Rockies, Jasper's beauty comes from the lack of commercialization that has systematically destroyed areas like Banff and Lake Louise. Why Jasper? Jasper has a small town feel that does not exist in highly commercialized resort areas like Lake Louise and Banff. If you are a naturalist, consider Jasper first. An extensive hike and trail network and a feeling of the wilderness still characterize Jasper. Take the Mt. Whistler tram for amazing trails and an unforgettable valley view. If you are a skier, Marmot Basin is a full-featured ski resort. "Marmot Basin is an alpine ski area located in Alberta's Jasper National Park. Marmot Basin has 91 named runs on four mountain faces with 3,000 vertical feet of drop. The area has a lift capacity of close to 12,000 skiers per hour on seven lifts. " Wikipedia
Travel through here during winter months , beautifull scenery , usually see wildlife every trip !
Jasper is amazing! Super friendly small town feel with lots to do and see! The park staff are very friendly and helpful! If you're using your vehicle's battery to power equipment just be sure to bring a jump pack or at least booster cables. Park staff are not allowed to boost vehicles for liability purposes.
One of the most beautiful place I have been it worth it 100%
For the last 10 years we have been going to Jasper. The memories that we have made there will be cherished forever. I always come home feeling renewed. The people in town are friendly. There are water dishes outside most shops for your pooches. It is a very dog friendly place.
I always love this small town full of life. Never a visit that I don't see a wildlife. Not crowded, lots of trails. Lots of outdoor activities to offer.
We try to get out to Jasper for a week every 1-2 years as we enjoy it so much. We hike, bike, kayak, golf, sight see and take sometime to just relax and take in the fresh mountain air.
Ice fields parkway, Sunwampta falls, beautiful take a pucnict
The most amazing thing I've seen in my life. Great town, friendly people everywhere. Around every turn on the road is another breathtaking view.
One of the best parks in Canada. Very quite and tranquil.
No words describe how beautiful it is here
Great place very relaxing you can see bears moose and some wild animals :)
It is magical to saunter along a trail littered with leaves, but hiking in shoulder seasons (both spring and autumn) comes with more unpredictable weather. Ensure you’re in safe and knowledgeable hands by going with a licenced hiking guide. Jasper’s got no shortage of options: Jasper Hikes and Tours, Canadian Skyline Adventures and Jasper Walks & Talks are all excellent.
Fantastic. This Park is the easterly neighbour to Mount Robson Provincial Park. Both are great - a must-see for any visitor to Alberta, particularly Jasper, and BC.
Nice town and nice camping at Whistler campground. Nice facilities.
Jasper never disappoints with its beauty! You can make so many stops and just take in the scenery. I will never get sick of visiting.
Honestly, every part of JNP is amazing. Not sure how this national park could be anything but 5 stars. There is so much to do and so many places to relax to take a breath. Love it.
People are being very responsible towards COVID distancing. The landscapes and wildlife are beautiful. Highly recommend.
Amazing park at the northern end of the wonderful ice fields parkway. This park was very pretty and a little less crowded than Banff. Some incredible hikes and natural waonders. A couple of our favorites were Bald hills, the maligne lake boat tour (expensive but worth it), sulphur skyline, maligne canyon, and lake Edith and Anette. If you want any solitude you still must get on the trail very early! 8:00nat the latest. Only down side was I was a little disappointed in the lack of wildlife.
The park is huge. In addition to this national park, there are many smaller local parks to visit. Sometimes it is very difficult to realize if you are in the park or not. The lakes have a special emerald color, which works very well in photos. Visiting the glacier that forms the Athabasca River you realize what global warming and pollution do. The glacier has halved in size and I don't know if it will exist for more than 50 years. Or 20? There are indicators that show you where the glacier was 100 years ago, in 1982, etc. Another thing that, perhaps not surprisingly, made me think. On the river there are no fish except from a certain point downstream. Quite unusual for me. The canyons visited and the waterfalls are extraordinary, you have a lot of panoramas. Unfortunately, the camera cannot present the abyss or the depth of these places. The only solution is to visit the park.
Beautiful, scenic park. Love the mountains and the wildlife. Loved it! Drive carefully, there is a lot of wildlife and impatient drivers who drive like crazy people.
Just gorgeous. It was quite smoky so we weren't able to experience the views to their fullest but it was still breathtaking. Be warned, bring a summer and pants even in the middle of summer as the weather changes drastically from day to night.
Just a few minutes drive from the Columbia Ice field Discovery Center, this a beautiful falls you can see just along the road.
Stunning scenery and wildlife in Jasper National Park and Columbia Icefields
If you want to experience absolute wilderness, be one with the nature- this place is absolutely stunning.
Jasper National Park is one of the most beautiful mountainous regions in North America, and arguably the world. It is one of the UNESCO's World Heritage Sites. It is Canada's largest Rocky Mountain Park. We visited Jasper twice between July and August 2019. Driving along the Icefields Parkway is one of the best ways to see parts of the park. We saw stunning scenery of snow capped peaks, glaciers, lakes, rivers and the flora and fauna. There is so much to see that we would have to visit the Park many more times in future.
One of the best place I visited so far. The scenery is breathtaking.
The mountains are even bigger than Banff's! The park also knows exactly where to put little viewing points for taking pictures. It has so many attractions it got exhausting(not in a bad way!). The area is so beautiful and it's a great place to bring your dog! Just make sure to clean up after it! The town is great too and has so many hidden gems within it. The parking is a little cramped, but if you're willing to walk, you will be rewarded. Overall and great park and great town.
A wonderful place without the Banff crowds
One of my favorite place in Canada!!! For me, its more beautiful and the building is more features than Banff, I love the town!! And u can see lots of wildlife in Jasper, I even saw a wolf and a fox!!!!!! It's amazing!!!!
This is a nice place to visit whether it's Summer or Winter. It's advisable to go there during summer since most activities are open during that season. But overall this place is magnificent!
Beautiful nature. Lot to see animals mountains, lake's to deep in
It's a serene environment and you have to go in groups in other to enjoy the fun
Do many places to explore. Next time will make more time to visit this area. Photographer dream
Pretty. The drive to Jasper is time consuming but you will enjoy the scenery. Many areas during the road trip could not get the phone signals, so maybe prepare your fuel, car or whatever.
Skytram is awesome. Holds 10 at the current restriction . 30 with no restrictions . No lines right now . Quick ride to the top and some info about the surrounding area. Beautiful view from the top. A must see for every traveler
Lot to do and see. Easy hikes to hard ones. Lot of wildlife to see at a safe distance. Waterfalls and canyons.
Who doesn't love this place, it's one of the most beautiful places in AB. The mountains, the waterfalls, the lakes and the wildlife are priceless ❤
By far one of my favorite places to be!
Amazing views. Beautiful. Enjoyed Jasper so much more than Banff. Seemed less crowded, more places to stop, more wildlife. Really enjoyed the gondola trip to the top of the mountain. Wasn't extremely busy when we visited.
Great views & stores to shop by, great place to spend with your family or friends ????
This park is a gem! It has more than four seasons each year. Just driving through on Hwy. 16 you will see the foliage continuously changing color, and with each passage you will spot different wildlife. Elk are nearly always visible, but you can also see sheep, goats, deer, coyotes, and don't forget the bears! Black and Grizzly bears can be seen at different times of the year.
Keep our National Parks clean and well organized. To continue this effort is a must...
Beautiful, Lush and very well cared for, making most scenes picturesque. All staff throughout are awesome good spirited Ambassadors for Canada. Total Photographer's Paradise, Campers Dream, Waterfalls, Wildlife, Jasper National Park has almost everything the only thing missing is You ????
If you are into exploring then this is heaven, just select the days with best weather and you are in for a treat.
Unbelievable scenery. Epic mountains and breathtaking vistas. Geology on the side of the road that puts much of the rest of the continent to shame. Oh, and moose, bighorn sheep, bears, and countless other animals.
If There is heveans, it’s here, it’s here! Just Wonderful Show of The Mother Nature!
Jasper, a small, beautiful and quit town, not crowded at all. A Jasper National Park must go place, stunning water colors, surrounded by mountains, full of water falls and lakes. If you want to enjoy nature , must visit. The scenery is spectacular, enjoy the drive, mountains and lake views. There are many outdoor places, hiking, camping, attractions, water falls, wild life, lakes, trails, canyons, sight seeing to be done. Drive from Jasper to Banff is gorgeous.
The most beautiful park. Loved our time there, can't wait to go back.
Stunning landscape and so much wildlife! We saw tons of moose, elk, and a young deer. So much to see and discover, highly recommend seeing this beautiful park
Great attraction. So much to see if you are one for sight seeing and adventure.
I was amaze and mesmerize by the views in Jasper many areas to see and stay , the lakes lovely really the city nice ambiance Definitely a place to visit
Amazing... Wild life is too active...! Lucky to see group of deer
visited for a week this past june. my daughter was working at the Jasper Lodge. Did a lot of hiking. Also enjoyed the restaurants and pubs in town.
Beautiful area for a hike, camping, getting away.
wonderful place to visit and clean. Nature is great to see and wildlife so fantastic.
Jasper was wild and rugged. Absolutely loved it. We saw more wildlife in Jasper than we did in Banff. Elk, Caribou, black bears, and an Arctic Marmot.
Wow it’s an amazing place to spend your holiday far from the city. It’s hard to find a camp and it’s better to book in advance .A lot of animals everywhere some places are dangerous to stay in ..Beers everywhere. You must have the National park pass during your stay ,there is a daily pass which is useful if you don’t know how long you will stay in the park. There are many places to see and visit
Jasper is new with each visit. Whether it's the quaint shops, or specialty restaurants, historic buildings or the Mountains and wildlife that draw you here, it's never boring! Starlit skies can be observed at the planetarium, up close and personal! Winter sports like skiing, fat biking, or ice walks are all over. Summer or fall...pristine lakes, but glacier water while beautiful is a tad chilly ( see my review on Miette Hot Springs!).
After driving through banff the mountains in jasper are less than breathtaking. Town is very congested and hard to drive around.
Beautiful scenary and hike. Accidentally missed my turn and took the family on a 10k hike instead of a 2k hike but turned out great. Highly recommend for a day trip. Bring water and snacks!
Loved it and will definitely visit again soon. You can't get enough of this place. This place should be on everyone's bucket list. Camp site should be booked in advance if not your second option would be overflow which just a couple km away from main camp site.
One of the most beautiful places I've visited!
The most breathtaking place I've ever seen! Especially the drive from Jasper to Banf.
awesome is probably the best description for this park. it's a little on the crazy side for me as to how many people are running around, but if you get going early to the main spots it is great
It’s very beautiful nature it’s one of the most beautiful places I ever visited super recommended to visit if you come to Canada ????
This place is amazing! A world class hiking destination!
As an avid lover of all things natural, Jasper was incredibly beautiful. In saying this, we should all do our part in protecting it. My heart ached to see so much GARBAGE left in this once pristine environment. Come on people... leave it as you found it. Clean your stuff up. If everyone that goes here is able to pick up 3 pieces of garbage along the trails (try doing it in covid cautious way) Jasper would thank you for it. Don’t be a burden.
Amazing even in early spring. We stayed in an original log cabin from the 1930's with all the comfort. Lake Annette, the river, the Maligne Canyon were only a few of the trails that are accessible also with kids.
Beautiful scenery, a nice quaint little mountain town. Lot's to do, a variety of shops and restaurants. Friendly atmosphere, wildlife is always neat to see.
What a really great park ???? and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. Definitely a great trip.
Wonderful place to hike, mountain bike and enjoy the rocky mountains!
Wow. So beautiful. You really must wade out into the lake. It's shallow so you can walk way out there. Be careful of these critters or mountain goats while passing through the park.
So much fun and so many wild life to spot. Love it!
other than the occasional difficulties with road conditions winter is my favourite time to drive through Jasper Park it's far less traffic and you get to enjoy more of the views. During the winter you also get to enjoy more of the clean crisp Rocky Mountain air while you watch the elk, goats and sheep enjoy the salt that is on the roads. At this time of year in Jasper there also a lot of cool events going on there's Christmas in November and other events planned and it's almost time for skiing.
What is there to say? This is the most beautiful in the world. Much less crowded than Banff, especially once you get further away from the touristy areas. Great in all seasons!
Just an incredible and beautiful experience, mountains of jasper never disappoint.
Absolutely beautiful park. Great hiking, kayaking, and camping. Something for every outdoor lover.
Amazing place, beautiful lakes and views, incredible animals! Highly recommended
This National Park is an escape to the daily grind of life. It has all the things and beauty of nature has to offer.
Best place on Earth for to see Nature and mother earth at her best!
If you are in Canada, Jasper and Banff are must visit. Entire route from Edmonton - Jasper - Banff - Calgary is just ammmazzzziiing!! Drive from Jasper to Banff is one of the worlds best drives. 3-4 hours of PURE BLISS!!! Try to stop at these designated look outs and enjoy what nature has to offer! Use your camera to take some pictures however its a real treat for naked eyes!!
This is the most beautiful place on earth!!!
National park with spectacular views
One of the most breathtaking views in canada; a scenic drive through the national park will top any summer activity. Lots of creeks, lakes, campgrounds, etc. Just as beautiful in the winter too!
We visited this park for a week on last week of July. Our drive started from Calgary towards Banff, Jasper then Hinton. The views were outstanding all the way through!!.We stayed in Hinton because Jasper during this time is extremely expensive. If you don’t mind the little extra drive, Hinton is a great alternative. We have been in many beautiful national parks in the United States. Jasper is now one of our top favorite
Maybe not "better" than banff, but definitely different and if less commercial is your cup of tea then this is the place. Hiking and mountains everywhere. Wapiti in abundance!
Jasper national Park has some of the most beautiful scenery in the world! The mountains are in sane and the waterfalls simply glorious. The quaint town of Jasper is a lovely spot to stroll and enjoy the ambience of a down to earth population content with their town and surroundings. The wildlife does not shy away from the camera frenzy but be respectful and keep your distance so they remain wild. Do not miss Maligne lake even though it is always out of town. It is well worth the drive!
Great scenery; hikes; always things to see and do.
You'll need at least a week to explore this beautiful and vast park, enjoy the walks, fresh air, canoeing, hiking and picnics in one of natures best kept secrets.
B.E.A.U.T.Y! I love this place so much that I ended up getting a tattoo of the mountains and trees! ♥️ Serene and scenic!
It's an absolute must-see place before you die. But please, if you visit, don't feed the animals, and don't litter!
When doing the speed limit...a wonderful experience...beautiful scenery!
We went to Maligne Canyon. Beautiful falls. Be prepared for a good hike. So close to nature.
Awesome park with soooooo much to do. Can't wait to come back!
Spectacular place with amazing views! You can experience a true wild Canada! So many great places and lakes to stop by and enjoy. I always prefer to bring my own food but you can find nice restaurants and cafe at downtown area. Just keep in mind since global pandemic, you must wear your mask on when you walk on the downtown street.
Best place in Canada ????????
Amazing park. It's very well maintained and easy to find your way around. You could spend months in here and not see it all. It's very easy to spot wildlife in the park. You can often see bears, moose, deer, all sorts of birds and much more. Pristine lakes and amazing hikes in the rocky mountains. What's not to love!?
The most beautiful area in Canada. Love the atmosphere here. ????
I love going to jasper, it's so relaxing to take a trip up to medicine lake, and onto maligne lake for the amazing views. Athabasca falls and sunwapta falls are beautiful and a fun place to cool off if it's been a hot day outside! It's an amazing place to relax and get a day away from the city! The hike into the valley of five lakes is a fun 2.5km hike in to see a beautiful view of the emerald colored 5 Lakes!
Amazing national park for excellent camping and road viewing experience. Drive past the ice field park way to see numerous mountains in the Rookies. Some of the best travelling experience provided by few small towns in the national park and convenient resting areas plus viewing spots. Hikes are supported but keep alert of grizzly bears.
A picturesque and unforgettable drive! Majestic snowcapped peaks, blue green waters and tall trees that make you feel so small. One of Canada's treasures and deserves its reputation. Some tips if you're visiting... The animals caused quite the traffic jam as tourists stopped in the middle of the road to get out and take photos. Just slow down not block the road. Note: please dont do that as its discourteous to other drivers and also dangerous to approach wildlife like that. Also, dont feed wild animals. That seems like common sense. At the gates just outside Jasper they ask you if you're visiting Jasper national park for tourism. If you say yes they will charge you the admission which is 10 bucks per adult, 8.30 for senior and 4.90 for kids. You need to buy the pass and display it on the dashboard if you visit these towns and scenic destinations. Doesn't matter if it's for 30 min or overnight. This goes towards maintenance and park support. You will receive a handy map and brochure outlining the best viewpoints and sightseeing spots. The park is big enough you could spend 1 or 2 days exploring it. There are tons of campsites as well as hot springs, lakes, rivers, canyons, waterfalls and ice fields. It's also home to lots of bugs so be prepared. Great for families and kids! Tons of activities including white water rafting, canoeing, kayaking swimming mountain climbing hiking, guided tours, stargazing, biking, camping, skytram, glacier walks etc. Have fun and be safe!
Absolutely beautiful. Breath taking views. There is so much to see. You would need weekend trip for sure.
This was the most fun trip that my family & I spent. Everything was amazing, we found everyone in town was very friendly. This made our trip very enjoyable, we look forward to going back.
Beautiful place with mountains all around. Blue lakes and rivers. Snow on the mountain tops.
Stunning! Great place to explore with a family!
One of Canadas most most spectacular parks. Amazing mountain views with some of Canada's most breathtaking scenery. A must visit if coming for a visit...Canada at its finest!
Beautiful national park that I've enjoyed visiting again and again. Majestic mountains, rushing water, and many trails offer a plethora of options to explore. Maligne Canyon in winter is a fun adventure.
Jasper National Park is the largest national park in the Canadian Rockies, spanning 11,000 km2(4,200 sq mi). It is located in the province of Alberta, north of Banff National Park and west of Edmonton. The park includes the glaciers of the Columbia Icefield, hot springs, lakes, waterfalls and mountains
Great little small town Theatre. Clean as a whistle. Friendly staff. Affordable snacks. I appreciate so much that they persevered through Covid and have opened again.
You can drive through, do hiking or stay overnight camping! It’s just magical! Every time you go there it’s always refreshing! Never boring and never tired!
Possibly the most beautiful place I've been in my life. The mountains onto the lake make for an incredible sight. Huge amounts of wildlife in the area! We saw two bears and a moose. 100% worth a visit
Wow, it will take years or anyone to see this park properly, it is so wonderful!
Great park! Lots of stuff to see, lots of exploring to do, and lots of fun to have! This has been only my second time at the park and I really enjoyed it. I will definitely be back again soon. The views are amazing, and while the roads are full of construction, the park is beautiful!
I prefer it over banff as it's quieter and more relaxed. Nevertheless you can expect unbelievable photos and memories wherever you go
Beautiful environment, peaceful although a bit too turistical sometimes. Highly recommend.
Some of the most spectacular scenery anywhere in the world. Quite literally breath taking.
Amazing scenery and wildlife.
Jasper is one of the most beautiful places in Canada. By all means it is a place everyone should visit... at the right time. Stat holidays, long weekends; Busy times should be avoided as it is very easily overcrowded.
Beautiful park. This year, did Stanley Falls hike about 45 mins from town. An easy hike with gradual elevation. There are multiple waterfalls throughout the hike with Stanley Falls being the last one before the return hike. Stopped by to admire the Snaring river as we stayed in the overflow campsite just beside it. On the way to the hike, we saw mountain goats and elk.
If you can go in the off season. I'm super excited for winter camping in the soon to be rebuilt campground.
A true treasure. Small enough to enjoy. Big enough to satisfy your wishes. Its a real Park. Not a shopping center in disguise. You can enjoy nature without road closures and high tech fences.
This is, with no exaggeration, one of the top natural attractions in the world. The mountain lakes are clear and calm. The waterfalls are powerful. The people have a relaxed, Rocky mountain attitude. This should be a bucket list visit for everybody. I've been over a dozen times and I'll be back again.
Long drive but definitely worths it!
Stunning vistas around every corner. A photographer's dream
It's a amazing place to visit.
Beautiful scenery. Disappointed with pretty total lack of wildlife during our walk to and around Old Fort Point; no birds, insects etc. It seemed quite devoid of life even though the scenery is spectacular.
Super awesome places, trails and amazing falls, Canyons, thy name is Jasper National Park
I love my drive time through the park but there needs to be a commercial or bypass window heading east like there is in the on the east side of the park
Jasper National Park is a must see for any mountain/outdoors lover. Endless things to explore and see. Jasper, like Banff, is a very popular tourist destination so expect big crowds, even on the rainiest of days. Hiking trials with a moderate difficulty or higher is an easy way of lowering the numbers, if you are up for it. However, some spots, like the Sulphur Skyline Trail, are too amazing to be not be busy and I fully recommend it regardless.
... where humans would unexpectedly witness a bear cross the highway and get excited to take photo of but missed the chance OR get down the car to take a close look at the moose! It's Jasper and we had the opportunity to enjoy what this park had to offer.
The best Park in Canada!
Early trip to Jasper, with -27 c temperature arrounds, still busy twon and worth to visit ..
Everywhere you turn is beauty. Lots of exploration and adventure. Skiing and snowboarding at marmot Basin. The town of Jasper is quaint with restaurants and 2 grocery stores. You need to go here! !
Beautiful...I found immense peace in lap of nature
Had a great time visiting Jasper! Such a beautiful place and a nice change of pace vs Banff!
A very large park with endless vistas. The town of Jasper is cool. Jasper is the 10th largest national park in Canada and the 16th largest in North America.
Positive that this is the most beautiful place in Canada.
One of Best Place in Alberta
Athabasca Fall's and Jasper great Mother's Day with family. Also Fort Nelson and Fort Liard trip
Lots of great scenery here, just like all of the Canadian mountain parks. Also seeing more wildlife here than Banff and Waterton. Smoke was a problem today.
How great the creations of our Creator. AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL
Majestic setting. Great hiking trails and amazing fall colors
Maligne Canyon walk is well worth doing. Spectacular river running through the canyon. Different length walks available.
Really beautiful place. Its for nature lover. If you wanna escape from busy life you will have to drive to hit jasper..if you are lucky you mightbe able to see few animals...
Got rained on and hazy from the wildfires. Seems like they need better forest mgmt. ???????????????????? 1 star. Kidding. Most beautiful park in Canada.
Beautiful ???? Slower today due to rain and Sunday yahoo...
Beautiful! Folding mountain.
Full of colors natural beauty
Breathtaking views...but don't forget to bring mosquito repellent. They are everywhere. Love the Malign Lake. The water was so calm, which created the perfect reflection. The Columbia icefield was good, but not very clean. The skywalk was a tourist trap.
Many places to visit here that are not just lush greenery patches along towering mountains above lakes. Such as the ice/sky walk, hot springs, and camping ...
Amazing place, which is full of adventures with nature... if you want the elimination stress come take a hike at this wonderful park .. no words to explain...
This is definitely one of Canada's best parks. The animals and wildlife were amazing.
Heaven on earth. The route from calgary to jasper is full of sight seeing
We visited in early spring. No crowds. Stunning, everywhere. So beautiful, and lots of wildlife.
Jasper is a place to go with everything to offer from great food adventures....wildlife...lots of activities and sightseeing....not overly busy so you can walk down the street without bumoing bumping peoples shoulders. Jasper offers a wide variety of foods from fresh breakfast to modern and amazing flavors.
One of my most favorite places in the world. We backcountry camp here every summer, enjoying the lakes and hiking trails.
Heaven on earth ❤️
Incredible beauty. Magnificent glaciers, abundant wildlife. The town of Japer is a nice surprise also. Lots of cute shops and good restaurants.
Everyone should have Jasper National Park on their bucket list. Amazing scenery, wildlife, great hikes, friendly and helpful Parks Canada staff...Jasper has it all! We were treated to a great skit put on by Parks Canada staff about bark beetles! Let it beetle!
Great place to visit at least once a year, blue and green lakes, Beautiful little town nestled in mountains. One of most beautiful places on Earth. Love it.
