Isn't is odd that in the same day, there are five 5 star ratings submitted in Google reviews for this guy and they all have the same wording? After years of being a lawyer and 2 awful reviews, he gets his friends to post 5 star reviews {some even have the same last name} and the voted up each others reviews. I checked and all of the 5 star reviewers only have this 1 review on Google and no other activity. What a sleazy tactic by a sleazy person. I hired Tom Singleton because I was given a traffic ticket I didn't deserve. I typed up a few pages of points that showed I was in the right, witness statements that didn't match, the officer didn't write down anything I told her at the time etc. He tells me "I always get this knocked down to a 1 point ticket, failure to obey a traffic sign." I tell him I don't want to admit guilt for something I didn't so I want to fight the ticket. He says "no worries, we'll win." We were due to go to court in 8 months and I never heard from him for 6 months, so I called and he was totally booked until the evening before the traffic court date. {It seemed ridiculous but that's what I was told.} Then at the meeting he told me "Oh we can't win there are witnesses", "If you lose you'll get a bunch of points on your license etc. we can't win." etc. When we went to court he didn't mention one single thing I brought to him. He didn't mention that the cop never took notes, the witness statements were from two 10 year old kids and didn't match at all. The fact that the guy at fault told the kids what to say etc. At 7 pm when the trial started is when he started writing his questions for the trial! After the cop got things wrong on the stand, I mentioned it to him and he was angry and said "get back in your seat" and still never questioned the cop on her lack of notes and mistakes. He took a couple of thousand dollars from me and did NOTHING. If it wasn't for the fact I stood up for myself on the stand, was clear and concise and the judge had a brain and followed the nonsense from the prosecution, I would have been buried. So he lied, took my money, didn't put a single thought into the case until the trial already started, then just asked a few generic questions. Don't believe his "promises". He won't fight for you. Now they claim I wasn't a client and that they have no idea what I was talking about? More sleaziness from him and company. I only ever saw him and a receptionist. He tries to puff himself up to get business but it's a low rent operation in my opinion.

In a matter of a dispute over property Mr Singleton's advice was most valuable. Without his guidance I would surely have make a costly mistake. It is an old axiom your get what you pay for! He was concise, got straight to the heart of the matter which allowed me to make some tough choices knowing what the implications would be without ever having to walk into a courtroom. He made sure that I heard what was "needed", not what I wanted to hear. Tough but honest. No one wants to pay a lawyer, but if you have to Mr. Singleton is money well spent.

Worst lawyer ever! Our family was disrespected ,ignored and not given representation from Mr. Singleton. I must include this was after he was paid a large amount of money that was required by the firm but the service did not match! Keep looking if you want fair representation!

BEWARE - If I could rank zero I would - Very poor legal support and guidance. It seems Tom Singleton cared more about the fees than that of the clients plea/facts of the case. There were many times that I caught Mr. Singleton embellishing the truth which led to little to no defense being actually submitted during trial. I ended up finding another lawyer (after having to pay Mr. Singleton for basically hurting my case). Btw - I remember him complaining about all these "fake" reviews out there about him and how he'd have to create positive one's. Take it from a real former client .. the poor reviews across many different sites are from experience not exaggeration.

Laughable! So either this firms does a Super Hero 5 star job or doesn't care about its clients ... guess I got the wrong side of the coin flip. Ended up taking my case elsewhere. Zero attention, focus or care was provided. Guess they don't care too much - still had to spend over $1000 before I realized my mistake. Hope you have better luck than me - might be worth asking the other reviewers if they are real accounts how they got Singleton's attention.

Tom Singleton represented my son who was charged with sexual assault when he was a university student in Halifax. Tom got involved in my son's defence after we dismissed another lawyer who had prejudiced my son's case by letting him give a statement to the police. Once tom got involved he targeted the statement my son had given to the police as being coerced and the result of incompetent legal advice by my son's first lawyer. Tom succeeded in getting the statement declared inadmissible at trial. After that victory, Tom went on the attack the complainant's credibility and the reliability of her evidence at trial. Tom made an application to get at her mental health records and a further application to examine her as to her prior sexual history at trial. We won both applications. It turned out that this complainant had a history of making false accusations and also had a history of lying to cover up her failings in life. At trial, Tom used this material to destroy the complainant's credibility. When Mr. Singleton finished with his brilliant cross-examination of the complainant at trial, there was nothing left to the prosecution case. The judge ruled that my son was not guilty. A great verdict made possible by the unceasing hard work of this excellent defence lawyer. I would highly recommend Tom in any case where there is so much at stake.

Tom Singleton looked after my DUI case and got the juge to throw the case out of court; He is considered an expert in DUI law and the juge listened attentively to every word he spoke; When the jusge made his decision he used the same words Tom had used; the judge said that Mr. Tom got it absolutely right. Other lawyers in court came over to congratulate him on a job well done after the juge threw out the charges against me. This is the lawyer you want on your side if you face a serious criminal charge. His fees are very reasonable for a lawyer with over a quarter of a century of experience before the courts. I would happily recommend Tom to anyone.

We had a great result using this very professional law firm; my son was accused of a false claim of sexual assault; Mr. Singleton took on the case and hired an investigator to do his own investigation; they quickly discovered very sloppy police work and a complainant who had made numerous accusations against others, all of which had been thrown out as false. This very good lawyer then went to the prosecutors and convinced them to drop the charge; great work on our behalf and the legal fees were quite reasonable; would recommend this law firm.
