That said this is still an expensive process and we burned through my retainer before we even managed to submit an offer to settle but I'm glad I have competent representation.

Always choose wisely the firm to represent you in a lawsuit against your ex. It could cost you more in legal fees than what you will ever collect. Some seem to be fighters by their looks and corporate speeches but that can be very deceiving and disappointing once in front of a judge. Again...choose wisely. I did not.
