We had heard great reviews when we chose Paquette and Travers to be our realestate lawyers. Unfortunately we were left with disappointment. Initially during client intake, communication was quick and fees were established quickly but from then forward, slow communication and mistakes after mistakes. During the closing date, we found the following mistakes: 1. Wrong legal name 2. Wrong birthday even though they had my drivers license 3. Wrong city (they put Kitchener in the address when the property I bought was in Waterloo.) 4. The failed to send us important documents such as proof of land registry and transfer document until we asked where it was 2 weeks later. 5. We were told we would get another package in 2 weeks that were separate from the closing documents we were handed at the closing meeting. When I called, they told me its actually 4-6 weeks. I have yet to recieve my Title and Title Insurance documents from them. We are still in the middle of dealing with all this and it is very frustrating. As a first time home buyer, I don't think transactions like this should be this disorganized. Perhaps this was just a one time situation but I definately won't be returning to P&T for any other services or recommending them.

Worst Decision Ever Everything was last minute. The firm did not communicate with us well and it was completely unorganized where I had to send the same documents many times on their last minute crazy rushed timelines. I was not impressed by this law firm. And now, 6 months after my house closed, they did not adjust the property taxes properly and they are asking me to pay. I am pretty sure it is their job to adjust and correct this at time of closing.

Never again. My first time house buying experience will forever be soured. The purchase was smooth. Error or oversight of the lawyer on close resulted in a much larger statement of adjustment after close compared to what it was upon close. To add, the previous homeowner breached the nail and screw clause and over $500 in damages was left on me to fix walls to bring the house back to the state it was when purchased. Regardless of these 2 gaffs the house closed anyway. Truly disappointed.
