I received sound legal advice from Marc - he is clearly experienced and knowledgeable. I also knew what to expect from the office ahead of time in terms of the payment structure. I was not too pleased, however, when we needed approximately 30 minutes of legal advice, and then afterward was charged for 31 minutes, particularly when the first few minutes of the meeting involved the lawyer taking information from us by hand (administrative work), which a client should not be paying a lawyer to do.

I felt completely ripped off by these guys. First, it was as though my initial consultation was used simply to get me to contract them (without giving me any useful initial advice). Later, it was as if they wrote emails to me (without any useful content to them) simply to charge me for them, even after I had asked them to cease working on my file. Suppose lawyers often take advantage of their position of relative power in an inherently asymmetrical principal-agent relationship with their clients, but it needn't be that way.

The owner of the firm is rude and acts ike she belongs on the set of Trailor Park Boys or on "Better Call Saul". She is belligerent in person and uses a very rude tone in her emails. She acts like a bully and has her associates calling their clients sir and ma'am instead of by their real names. Going to her law firm is like a twilight-zone experience. I had to pinch myself afterwards to make sure that it was not some weird dream. The young associate who helped me Is a recent graduate of Ottawa University. I am sure he will eventually take a job at a prestigious law firm on Elgin Street at his earliest opportunity. I told him I could help him find a job elsewhere but then he gave me a shy look, probably because the owner was within earshot.

A good service but lacking in communication. They charge everything and never answer when sending a document when it is urgent to have it! They say wait until your attorney reach you. An easy file took me 9 months and I understand it is an epidemic situation but I deserve a good communication because I paid for it. I am not recommanding them if you want it fast.

Comme plusieurs l’ont déjà mentionné, la propriétaire utilise un ton inapproprié (et condescendant) que ce soit au téléphone ou par courriel. Elle vous fait sentir comme si vous êtes simplement un numéro, et s’adresse à vous comme si vous étiez un enfant de 5 ans. Mon conjoint et moi avons eu l’impression qu’elle «micro-managed» tous les associées/avocats de sa firme, qu’elle s’ingère dans tous les dossiers. Il y a un grand manque de professionnalisme et d’éthique de travail dans cette firme…Encore une fois, tenez-vous loin de cette firme, je continue de partager ma mauvaise expérience avec mes proches, mes collègues mes amis etc. ***C'est à la fois très drole et pathétique de lire le commentaire si «défensif» de ladite propriétaire de la firme «Darquise Léveillé», en réponse à mon commentaire publié il y a deux mois.
