I have just begun my process of becoming a duel citizen and called to ask a couple of questions. I was thankful when the receptionist was open to answering a few (many offices are NOT) and thrilled that Mr. Jurmain himself got on the phone and answered my deeper questions. What a class act! I would not recommend this firm. Lack of communication from this firm has resulted in increased heartache and hassle when dealing with my husband's immigration to Canada. We provided them with essential paperwork that needed to be sent off in a timely fashion and they let it sit on a desk for six weeks. We finally had to go in, retrieve our paperwork (even that took them forever) and find another lawyer better able to serve us. Don't use this firm unless you want to be jerked around, never called back, never speak to your lawyer past the initial consultation. Also located in a terrible part of Niagara in the shabbiest, messiest law office I have ever had the displeasure of seeing.

I was referred to Jonathon Jurmain by an immigration lawyer in the U.S. as I needed a lawyer to help me gain permanent resident status in Canada. Jonathon has a lot of experience in this area and confidently guided my wife and me through the process of compiling a file to submit to the Canadian government. I don't know how it happened, but I received approval 6 months after the submission of the file rather than the 15 months that we expected. I believe that happened, at least in some part, because of the completeness of the file that Jonathon helped us create. He was also less expensive than the Toronto attorneys we interviewed. All in all, a very positive experience!

NEVER HIRE THIS LAWYER!!!!! I was recommended by a friend to go to this lawyer. We couldn't afford to higher a lawyer from other city due to lack of time and transportation. This lawyer is the most unprofessional lawyer I have ever seen!!! All the documents were provided to him ready to submit to the immigration! We did all the work for him! We provided everything on the "plate" for him and a pile of cash just to help us to get a visitor visa for a family member! And he stabbed us on the back!! He has done lots of mistakes, very unprofessional, and the cover letter that he wrote it was equivalent to a grade 3 student! He did not only show pure professional work but, he also showed his arrogance, his racism and discrimination against us as foreigners! He never informed us on time for anything even for a decision that the immigration officer had made. He showed the documents to us almost a month later and he was thinking that we are stupid, don't know anything about immigration or don't look at the dates when the decisions was made. This guy has no human heart for any one! Every client that is seating in front of him he sees a dollar sing ($) and not a person that is in desperate need for help. he does not give a dam that families are separated and the members that are left behind are in great danger! So folks. NEVER HIRE THIS GUY unless you have hundreds of thousands of dollars to flush in the toilet! Do yourself a favor by running away from him!

As a complete stranger to him I was put through immediately, the second time even when he was just on his way out of the office. I got Jonathon Jurmain’s services contracted through Legal Aid over a year ago to help me with making a refugee claim in Canada after having troubles with it due to my previous social worker giving me incorrect information. So I already had a bad experience with someone in power prior to coming to Jurmain Law. Anyways he was supposed to help me with my refugee claim and basically after getting paid through Legal Aid and receiving all of my information did not continue any contact with me. I even inquired about other services during this time but after he told me his rates he never contacted to me ever again about my claim or anything else for over six months! And continues to ignore me despite me reaching out. Also I have posted this review 3 MONTHS ago on my personal account and it got deleted. Therefore I am posting it again. What a shame that they will try to cover up their mess rather than help people that are in need AND that pay them an arm and a leg. This law office DOES NOT DESERVE to exist and make money.
