I was contacted by a lawyer after I posted my true experience with this firm and begged to change my review. But after thinking about it, I think it's best I repost my true experience so nobody else goes through this. I was injured in November 2020, Hurwitz, Whitcher and Molloy took my case in Dec 2020. The first negative experience happened when my employer's insurance company cut my compensation. The firm did absolutely nothing to try to get my full compensation rate back. I remember being told that they (Hurwitz Whitcher and Molloy )were going to request a hearing, weeks went by, then months. When I asked about it again, I was told that my employer wasn't providing documents to them for comparison. I was constantly told by the firm that workers compensation were not pay checks. As a result of this, I was unable to keep up with my bills and had to let go of my apartment, ultimately ending up homeless.
The next negative experience with this firm was when my benefits abruptly stopped but we're eventually reinstated and I received the weeks owed (about 3 months later) a lump sum minus $100 per week. I wasn't aware of this until I received the check. I immediately contacted one of the lawyers who swore up and down that we had discussed this and I was well aware and in agreement to this. I assure you, no such conversation took place, the lawyer lied to me. So there I was homeless, recovering from a severe ankle injury, unable to work and not receiving any workers comp compensation.
In short, the firm did absolutely nothing when my workers compensation was reduced (twice)and eventually stopped. I told them many times that I was about to lose my apartment due to these reductions and the only response I received was, "these are not paychecks". A further impact was that I was forced to eventually sell all my power tools (2500-3000 worth of tools)over this period to get by. Slowly, but one by one they were eventually gone.
If you're looking for a firm who is truthful, looking to advocate for every right you have and looking out for your well-being this is not the firm. Keep shopping!
