I am a tri-racial senior woman with a disability recovering from an abusive marriage. Anthony Reitboeck was condescending, pedantic and insensitive to my emotional state. When asked to speak in a positive tone of respect, he refused and suddenly quit as my lawyer. Legal Aid will not replace a lawyer and I was left without representation just before a constructive trust deadline. While technically astute, I required someone with more emotional intelligence that what I experienced. I have been immeasurably harmed by this law firm.

I went to this law firm but had Anthony Reitboeck. I had the worst experience. He was so condescending, demeaning and rude. I went through legal aid but because of his mistreatment of me I was able to fire him and get a new lawyer. I was having a hard enough time going through separation and a custody battle, no one deserves to be treated so poorly by someone who you hire to help you.

According to the Law Society, conduct unbecoming a barrister or solicitor means, in part, (c) engaging in conduct involving dishonesty or conduct which undermines the administration of justice. As such, getting clients to be dishonest on their form 13.1 Financial Statement, is conduct unbecoming a lawyer. But what if the lawyer didn't specifically tell the client to be dishonest, but rather, kept silent when reviewing documents? It's the same thing. S. 7.2 Responsibility to Lawyers and Others Courtesy and Good Faith 7.2-1 A lawyer shall be courteous, civil and act in good faith with all persons with whom the lawyer has dealings in the course of their practice; and, Under Commentary [2] Any ill feeling that may exist or be engendered between clients, particularly during litigation, should never be allowed to influence lawyers in their conduct and demeanor toward other legal practitioners or the parties... Personal remarks or personally abusive tactics interfere with the orderly administration of justice and have no place in our legal system. Communications: 7.2-4 A lawyer shall not in the course of professional practice send correspondence or otherwise communicate to a client, another legal practitioner, or any other person in a manner that is abusive, offensive, or otherwise inconsistent with the proper tone of a professional communication from a lawyer. As such, Imagine a man serves his country in the Canadian Armed Forces for 19 years on top of working a regular full-time job and a Family Law lawyer is disgusting enough to say, "I'm under the impression you took a temporary leave so you don't have to pay the proper amount of child support" AFTER he provided documentation stating how involved and how in love with his children he is; AFTER he has been crying for more time with his children, and AFTER he claims to have been abused psychologically and sometimes even physically from that lawyer's client. This lawyer has contributed to the abuse this man has already endured during marriage and even after separation. CONDUCT UNBECOMING A LAWYER. She should be disgusted! She is NOT paid to express personal opinions that are offensive and hurtful in a situation she knows nothing about. She is paid to represent her client and that is all.

After being hired, Gibson refused to defend my case right before the bail hearing. Promptly firing Gibson, lawyer Vijay Singh had the matter dealt with, within an hour with no prior knowledge of the case - Gibson had 3 days to prepare before deciding not to represent. Reading the comments below, perhaps Gibson should have stayed in the real estate game.

I obtained Ashley Gibson for a lawyer when I was going through a divorce and fighting for custody of my daughter. She is not very efficient and condescending. Apparently money talks to Ashley, She does not care what is right for the child. I obtained her through legal aid. I DO NOT recommend this lawyer at all.

My case has been one of the more difficult matters. Ashley has stuck with me through it all. Family court is difficult and timely and Ashley has given it to me straight everytime I've had a question. It wasnt always what I wanted to hear, but she knows the court process and what can and what can't be done and I appreciate her honesty. A great lawyer in my opinion and has helped me understand the very difficult process involved in family court proceedings.

I hired Ashley Gibson in 2014 for a family law matter. Ashley cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars by not doing her job effectively and efficiently. She had numerous excuses month after month. Based on my experience with her, which lasted over a year, I found Ashley Gibson to be careless and condescending. Her assistant Ashleigh, failed 3 times to confirm court hearings and often did not have paperwork ready after promising it would be complete. Excuses, never apologies, were given. The judge asked Ms. Gibson to provide a definition of the term "ancillary matters" and he gave her ample time to do so. Upon meeting with the judge again, much to my shock and frustration, Ashley Gibson had not done this simple homework. (which I was able to complete later that day.) This simple mistake cost me a lot of money. Ashley admitted her mistake to me but refused to file an appeal for fear it would look bad. I fired her. Ashley Gibson recently had the police pay me a visit after I gave an unfavourable review on a social media. FIVE months ago on a site with other reviews on her and her firm. Ashley Gibson called it harassment and slander. A review site! Apparently only good reviews are welcome. After providing to the police the review, I was informed I had indeed broken no laws. This is my personal review and experience of dealing with attorney Ashley Gibson.

Had our wills done by Ms. Gibson and her staff. She was very professional and efficient. She made sure we had everything set how we wanted and gave us insight into things we didnt even consider. Her staff was kind and sent the copy of the wills quickly. We had no need to make any adjustments. It isn't a task people want to do, but it's necessary and I'm thankful it was a positive experience with her law office. I'd highly recommend working with Ms. Gibson. We are so happy it was handled quickly and professionally.
