Used the chat bot that popped up (in the evening on a thursday), the office called me the next morning (friday) and got me in for an appointment with Richard the following monday. They are all very friendly and welcoming. Richard was great. Very down to earth and easy to speak with. Was a great experience and would highly recommend them!

I wouldn't recommend this law firm at all My experience was really bad with Billal. I went in and spoke to him, he agreed and asked for a retainer fee, once the fee was paid I spoke to him only 2 times within a 7 month span. I called and emailed so many times and more then many attempts to get a hold of him. One day I was finally able to speak to him to set up an appointment and then he went and cancelled it. Please if you are looking for a good lawyer do not go to him. Billal will not be able to defend you. I feel really disappointed as they took all my documents and scanned it and now if I want it back I have to pay a huge amount, not to mention that half the retainer fee was charged for a service that went no where with him, like the consultation, ordering the documents, phone call that was made twice, and then was cancelled ect… As a lawyer, I believed that they are there to fight and support you but Billal was just awful. I know good lawyers are hard to find, and he is not a good lawyer. please don't ever use him, as you will be wasting your money.

Not the firm, just a specific lawyer, Mr. James Arndt. Mr. Arndt was our lawyer at his previous firm. He talked a big game re developing long term relationship, but failed. Prior to his departure from his previous firm he gave us no warning. We were given contact info for his new firm. I called and requested phone call - crickets. His lack of respect and professionalism was further evidenced by the fact that he had not done much towards completing our wills (had to redo with new lawyer) despite assuring us months ago they were ready to be signed? Nonsense. So, all in all, he talks a lot and doesn't deliver. Would not recommend.

Richard Verhage spends too much time in boozy lunches and doesn't return client calls or emails and drags matters out for as long as it takes so that he can fleece the client wallet. Just a purely unethical law firm that should be SHUT DOWN. They promise a fee, then 24 hour prior to closing a deal they blackmail you for more money or dump you. Billal Saleem has been an absolutely FANTASTIC lawyer. He's very easy to talk to. He was pretty good for communicating. When Billal took over our case from another lawyer he was so quick to get things done immediately. We went from having NOTHING happen in months. I'm sure they could be good lawyers when it comes down to it... but i feel like they took my $400 for the consultation i had. Timothy did not tell me over the phone that he does not do provincial court and i swear over the phone i heard him say $275 for the consultation but once i got there it was $375.... I was referred to timothy and only wanted to talk to him. He got me to talk to another lawyer even though i didn't want to. I was very hesitant and felt pressured to talk to him. In the end they talked to me for less then 30 min, took no notes, no copies, and barely read my paperwork. Now I'm out $400 that i could have use to feed my child that i was not getting any child support for. I believe they should have offered some or all of my money back...In the end i left crying.

I live in Edmonton, Alberta and had been married for a goodly number of years and never suspected that I would need legal counsel to handle my own divorce proceedings. That day happened recently and I was scrambling to find good legal services for my situation. I searched on Google for a law firm that would handle my needs. Verhaeghe Law Office caught my attention. They were not a downtown law firm and the office was located near my home. I had dealt with those tower law firms and was not impressed with their approach in dealing with regular folks. I contacted the office via their online customer service app. The online answer service was friendly and took my information without incident. My wait time for a reply from a real life human being was very short. Usually a tech department uses bots to channel your information to a relevant operator. My cell phone rang and the voice on the other end of the line was Nitin Kaushik. His tone of voice was welcoming and his attitude professional and informative. He listened patiently as I explained my situation and needs for legal counsel. He set an appointment for me for the next day. When I arrived at the law office the secretary at the front desk was friendly, asked me to provide some personal information and then told me to have a seat in the waiting room. I was escorted to a consultation room and waited for Mr. Kaushik to arrive. Nitin greeted me in an informative yet professional manner. His approach involved letting the client talk while he listened attentively, took notes and did not rush me for my story. STAY AWAY !!! I hired them for simple divorce and was told in initial meeting it would cost me around 1000-1500$. It was simple divorce no property, children or what so ever was involved, just hired bcz other party was in Ontario but ended up costing me close to 3500$. well forget about money for some time and lets talk about their professional service, nothing is professional. I was told not to email (its 2019) and call for updates but NO REPLY FOR PHONE CALLS OR VOICEMAILS. I had to wait for 2 weeks just to get update sometime (happened 3 times). I literary had to email and leave message on reception that I want to speak with manager, so I can get updates on my file but again for that also I have to call twice, so finally my lawyer will call back. First time, when I asked for manager, I guess my lawyer didn't like it and he totally ignored me on next visit when I was having meeting with his assistant. In short, I was more frustrated and exhausted with my lawyer than my divorce.

There is a 24 hour online chat that I tried and they asked permission to give my number to a lawyer to text me. Much to my delight and surprise I got a response right away even though it was late in the evening. After a phone call the next day to discuss my matter further I had an appointment set up in no time. Nitin answered all my questions and provided a few possibilities for future action if necessary. I took the office 2 days to contact me back to book an appointment for something as trivial as travel consent letter for a child, literally 2 min job. I probably had to explain 3 times what it is about. For the 10 years I have been getting notary signatures on those letters, I never had to pay more than $25, and I usually had them done in offices in downtown area. These prople charged me $50 for the exact same service and when I asked how come it's so expensive I was told that this is the usual rate. No, it is not. Ask about the rates before you go in.

I dealt with his assistant in two separate emails and in the second one she sent me she sent out invoices for other clients.
