I had contacted Mr. Kurata for a legal matter I am handling, he responded within an hour, he was incredibly knowledgeable and so kind to explain everything in terms I could fully understand without me having to suffer the embarrassment of questioning legal terms, he is professional and provides a very comfortable safe space to lay out your situation, he was empathetic, relatable and very understanding to my situation providing me with the confidence I needed to begin finding solutions. I had been searching for clear answers or at least understanding and was only hitting dead ends, which is incredibly discouraging. I find it is not always easy to connect with a lawyer and feel truly understood, everything is always very black and white and stated in terms I couldn't possibly wrap my head around. With Mr Kurata it did not feel that way which really allows the weight to be lifted. Great human, great service, 100% recommend this law firm to support you in any legal mess you find yourself in.

First of all, he dissected my situation and looked at it from various angles: financials, legal practices, process, effort, morality, reputation, etc. Second, he is good with risk management, and would not take a case if his client's chances are way too slim. At least he will advise to proceed or not to proceed accordingly. Thus, I am personally recommending Patrick for labor disputes and other technology professionals who feel their rights were not respected by the employer's actions.

Re: Cory M. Dawson So disappointed. Was referred to by a lawyer he regularly works with. An extremely simple case as it was just an amendment to a contract. Other party did all the work. I expressed how finances were an issue and was assured over the phone it would take no more than 2 to 3 hrs to complete as work was being done by the other lawyer. The constant emails with me repeating myself no just do what I asked were many. The end results were me being charged nearly 3x the amount of hours as the other lawyer who did the actual work. I was mislead and very disappointed. The email I received when I expressed these concerns showed me it was all about stretching out every email, every phone call and every repeat question just to get as much out of me as possible. Very pleasant and a nice smile who unfortunately does not listen to his clients. Never would I recommend a lawyer who does not listen to his clients and charges 3x as much as quoted for doing little to no work as it was already done. Looking a the documents...no way do I see 7+ hrs worth of work. Please tread carefully as the smile is deceiving.

I used this law firm to immigrate to Canada. I was told it would take 9 months and it took 2 years. Many many mistakes on the law firms end. When I filled in the application form, it was correct, without errors and perfectly legible. When I submitted the application to Karen I was told they would need to redo it because it was messy (it wasn’t). When I received it back it was full of errors all the way through and they even tried charging to fix the mistakes!! Eventually they corrected it and sent it off. When I was in the UK waiting, they sent me paperwork to sign by fax (which took weeks to get) and the first time they misspelled my name, then a week later when they resent it, it turned out to be a womans divorce paperwork. It took weeks just to send a fax. Because it took so long I had to have another medical costing $700 as the first had expired, which they did not tell me about. I had to ask them “hey is my medical still valid”? Also because it took so long, my police background check expired as well, which I also had to ask the law firm about. Too many problems to list right here but the biggest waste of money ever spent. Also my son was 3 months when I left for England and was told it would take 9 months (which was the timeline also given on the governments website). By the time I received my permanent residency my son was nearly 3. It was heartbreaking. If I can save just 1 person from wasting their money on something that they could do them selves or find someone else who wouldn’t overcharge them and waste their time then I would be happy.

We worked with Celine Begin to get Permanent Resident status for my wife and step son. I am a Canadian born and raised in Grande Prairie, Alberta. And I cannot believe that it took almost 3 years to the day from when we submitted our application to get to Canada. There were many hurdles to overcome starting with our application being rejected at the very start of the process due to a mail strike. The application was forwarded to the courts who sent it to Immigration Canada to review. Upon the review we were able to proceed with our application. My wife and son needed to leave Cuba to get their medical examinations completed which just happened to be at the start of the Covid pandemic. The medical was completed in Barbados but due to the Covid pandemic the chemical that was needed to process the HIV test did not make the flight from France to Barbados and therefore the HIV test was not completed. Celine sent several emails and managed to get Immigration Canada to accept our HIV test completed in Cuba. After that final test then we received our final approval for Permanent Residence to Canada. And to try and travel from Cuba to Canada was very difficult, no planes flying, planes cancelling their flights etc. We finally managed to arrive in Canada on October 30th, 2021. Celine was very clear throughout the process on what our options were every step of the way. She did a fantastic job considering what we needed to accomplish and delivered as we are now in Canada. I would highly recommend Celine Begin with the experience that I had working with her. Well done Celine, my family and I thank you for your work.
