A trusted friend recommended Severide Law for my separation agreement. I appreciated their sensitive and caring approach to getting through the separation process. An agreement was reached that balanced my needs with the needs of my spouse without going to court. I then had Severide Law update my will and power of attorney. All of my dealings with Severide Law have been professional and courteous. I would recommend Severide Law to my friends.

This firm has a policy of not dealing directly with unrepresented clients. Their blog was last updated in 2014. Nonetheless their policy and current attention to current methods is archaic. I understand they deal with unrepresented clients by e mail in 6 minutes increments. They also advertise of healthy divorces but will not deal directly with opposing parties except through a lawyer or the aforementioned e mail method when direct conversation would suffice. I would stay clear In the past years since writing this review I stand by my comments. I am pleased that those reading the review get and understand the adversarial approach. I have dealings with lawyers over my 35 years in my career and know the critism I expressed would need not be made on other firms who communicate directly with opposing parties.

No fight in Deirdre at all. Her highest priority is protecting the lawyers involved and she does not represent the client's interests very well at all. You'll feel like 3 against one! She also takes random vacation weeks continually without notice. She is technologically challenged and does not forward documents that should be automatically forwarded, even after four requests. The cost estimates are far too low and also don't include required 'experts'. Wasted a lot of money; never mind the future losses with this 'deal'. Also, the claim of easy tax calculations and savings were just words. NOT recommended!

Enlisting Oliver Hamilton's help at Severide Law was the best decision I've made thus far. Every time I need advice, documents developed or legal opinion, Oliver is timely, enthusiastic and so easy to communicate with. My project has moved along at 3 times the pace with less time wasted. Separation and Divorce: After 8 months of unsuccessful and acrimonious mediation we chose to separate through 'Collaborative Divorce'. Deirdre Severide came with high recommendations which she lived up to entirely. I found her intelligent, sensitive to our difficult situation and very skilled. We live in Prince George and yet the law office we utilize is Severide Law in Ladner. Severide has provided us with experienced and thoroughly competent representation for a road easement over joint properties, the sale of a parcel of land in Surrey and the purchase of property within family members. Oliver Hamilton and the supporting office staff provided us with all documentation for these various legal situations quickly and effectively. Any of our questions were answered promptly by a phone call or an email. We actually had very few questions since the information from the office was always presented clearly. The office went that extra mile to accommodate the needs of our family members - even going out to the car to bring papers for a signature when that person was having mobility issues. The caring and listening nature of all the staff helped tremendously through decisions that were difficult. We would end our meeting feeling better than we did when we came in through the door. We received so much more than legal service; we had legal 'counselling' so that the shared road easement ended with both property owners remaining friends and the family matters were smoothed with an effective written communication (that was entirely a suggestion by Oliver). 5 stars plus more!
