Recently came here for supper. Cute little restaurant perfectly located downtown. Staff member was very friendly and welcoming. Very good service! We ordered a chicken parmesian and a chowder. Chowder was one of the best I ever had. Chicken Parm was a bit dull, was luke warm and tasted it was cooked in a microwace (even tho it more than likely wasnt) pasta were great. Dessert was awesome!! Bang on!! Since this place is known to be a Tea Room, we ordered a tea for a warm drink (thinking it would be something special). Tea was only a David's Tea which is sold anywheres.

Went here multiple times back in early August, the food was very good, a good price, and they served most (if not all) of their menu any time of the time they were open. Sometimes the food took awhile, but never was it a jawdropping amount of time. Very good!

Daniel Hefford

Had an awesome mac and cheese here. The service was quick and polite. Would highly recommend.

Great place, very cozy and homey. Lovely staff and they accommodated my vegetarian wife very well. Great service. You won't be disappointed!!

Andrew Krausz

Great chowder and friendly service!

Paul Russell

Incredible cod chowder, a complete and very tasty meal in one delicious bowl. It's amazing when you think about it that several generations of the same family have kept the restaurant running successfully for such a long period of time.

Cristine Sousa

Enjoyed a delicious brunch on the patio at this super cute spot! Best part is that all the food is home made. Highly recommend! Tip: try the seafood chowder and the carrot cake!

Carla Johnston

We went here for breakfast and sat on the deck. Great atmosphere and it was a sunny day which was a bonus! Service was very good as was the food! Hot and tasty! Will go back next time we are in town!!

Came here for lunch and breakfast and the food is delicious, hearty and reasonably priced. We enjoyed the pea soup and chowder a lot. They are only open from June to September really to serve the tourists. Don't be deceived by its name being a tea room though. They only serve David's Tea!

Right in the heart of Bonavista, this is a great place for breakfast, lunch or supper while exploring the town. Delicious food, accommodating service, generous portions. A wide selection of tea is served in tea pots. The coffee is also good. There are outside tables on the patio for extra social distancing.

Big mistake to order roast beef. It was traditional grey / shoe leather and staff thought that ok. Yorkshire pudding not made the right way. Chowder was decent don’t go off grid here .

Marlene Schellenberg

Best fish chowder ever! They take traditional Newfoundland dishes upscale. Brewis like no other and lovely light toutons lightly fried to crispy but light and fluffy inside. Worth coming to Bonavista just for Mifflin’s.

Waited a long time after ordering and watched tables be seated and eat while we still waited. Ended up paying for a our drinks and leaving before we got our food. Very disappointed as this one of the places we had been anticipating eating at during our trip.

We had a fantastic breakfast here, but I suggest making a reservation. They sometimes close for tour bus bookings. Everything homemade from scratch. Super service!

We were there for the 1st time to have our lunch. It turned out to be delicious & good, nice & cozy little house with history. The cakes section is even better with tea. We went back the following morning for our breakfast, it was fabulous with reasonable price. We even ordered packed lunch for our hiking. Within the same day, we drove back from Trinity to here to have dinner & finishing with cakes & tea. It is really good place to have good food with reasonable price & with nice people.

I'm giving only 2 stars due to the lack of service and the bland and soggy food. It took nearly 15 minutes just to get a glass of water. When the food finally arrived the pasta was very bland I had to add salt and pepper just to even make it okay. The salad was so soggy it was not edible. No one came to check durning our meals, we tried to get the attention of one of the waiters and where unsuccessful. Finally when they checked 25 minutes later we where just ready to leave at this point. As well we were shocked the the bread wasn't even homemade nor the garlic bread for the pasta it was frozen Texas toast you buy at the grocery store to heat u.

Lots of history in this building, and it's kept in the family. We had a lovely meal, and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere. And of course the tea and cheese cake is wonderful. Make a reservation, because it's a popular place.

We made a 3 hour drive from out hotel in St. Johns all the way to Bonavista. We stopped at a few places along the way, and of course checked out the lighthouse and Dungeon Park, but even if we hadn't, Mifflin's would have made it worth it! The restaurant and building itself is so inviting and cozy, and the patio where we sat under the apple tree was lovely. The ladies serving us were kind and attentive, and made us feel relaxed and at-home. The food was superb, some of the best I've had, and I would definitely say the number one place to get Newfoundland's iconic dishes, the Jiggs dinner was the best I've had, be sure to get it with roast beef and gravy! And the fishcakes were also a treat, but honestly you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. My only complaint is that my stomach wasn't bigger!! Unfortunately, I forgot to pick up a slice of homemade pie, and a hand-knit toque. I'll have to be back!
