Received a call from Kahane Law Re: Separation consultation. The first 3 seconds of my conversation was to book an in person appointment which would last a minimum of 1 hour to 90 minutes at $440.00 a hour. This conversation would involve legal advice outing a separation agreement.. wow !!!! Just a conversation with no actions taken... wow !!!This is not a murder trial, pretty common issues these days. Worst service ever received. No one returns your call after leaving atleast 10 voicemails. Everytime you call at frontdesk they say lawyer is in meeting with someone else. Poor serivce. Not recommened. On the day of closing our deal no one from firm bother to reach out to tell us this is not happening today. They responded only with one word no or yes.

Not very impressed with the level of customer service here. At first I was willing to only go with this office based upon the number of positive reviews it had received. Tried getting in with touch with a lawyer to setup a consultation for a labor issue. Was referred to her line during regular business hours. The voicemail told me to send her an email and that she would get back to me as she could not return voicemail's. As this matter was of an urgent nature and almost a week had gone by with no response. I tried calling again to receive the same voicemail message during business hours again. This happened for a third time on a different day. At this point I decided to go with a different office. If you want to leave messages never to be answered and never talk to anybody besides the receptionist this is the place! Woe and behold another office called me back the same day. Not impressed with Kahane Law at all.

Since i was not informed of the cancellation, i went to the office and the customer service promised that they will call back but did not receive any call till today .Totally rude and unprofessional to schedule an appointment and cancel without informing the client no matter what the emergency situation, and for law firm such as kahane law not impressed at all with the customer service. Thought the good reviews i read before booking for consultation appointment will be confirmed but unfortunately in my own view it did not feel that way. How i wish i can post without a star but guess not otherwise i will give customer service 0/5.

I recently needed a power of attorney for a property sale. Since I heard their adds on radio numerous time, I decided to give them a try. I did a walk-in, and the receptionist told me that i need to call the assistant of one of their lawyers who deal with real estate. I left 3 messages on the lady's voice mail in one week, nobody returned my calls. Finally gave up, contacted another firm, got it done in less than 48 hours. I would recommend Kahane Law to stop wasting money on radio adds and instead, invest into competent staff who will deal with client in a timely manner. Even if you are not interested, return calls and state that you won't be able to help, little bit of courtesy please!!

Employment lawyer Kim Nutz is responsive, promptly followed up and helped me recover lost wages for undue dismissal. Moved to USA was very keen on recovering still some money owed from the employer so decided on litigating the matter. Mine was delayed in filing by a month, follow up very very unprompt and irresponsive. Do understand lawyers are busy but not that any of your client is feeling differently treated because the lawyer did not have sufficient time for my case and were busy with other litigations!! Appreciate the owner followed up right away and forwarded the mail to respective litigation lawyer, definitely cares for the business. Do not recommend litigation, have all the resources to pay but with so much lapse, disinterest and no result in sight?? I recommend having all your clients feel same with same attention, courtesy and importance : just a wise thought!!

I want to thank Jeff Kahane for personally reaching out to me after learning of some concerns we had after working with them to purchase our home. I was under the impression that they had to send our title to our HOA but after speaking with Jeff he clarified that land titles is not only running behind, but that they typically don't send that off to anyone but the home owner. He pulled our title and emailed me a copy right away. There was also some miscommunication between the sellers of the house and their lawyers regarding city tax payment, resulting in us being charged a penalty for late payments (payments that were due before we took possession). When I discussed this with Jeff he said that he would look into this further as it seems their paperwork was correct and the sellers were supposed to have paid for the month. Jeff called me back right away to confirm this was the case and is working with the other law office to get us reimbursed. I did have some issues with phone calls not being returned, but after speaking with Jeff he informed me that our contact there had been on holidays and apologized for any lack of communication on their end. I am quite impressed with Jeff and his desire to ensure good customer service. I really appreciate his taking the time to clarify some misunderstandings and to help me better grasp what their role is in the process of securing our home.

We used Kahane to complete our purchase of a condo. Overall the business seemed competent but the problem we had was that we never saw a lawyer. Even when we went in to sign everything, it was a student who met with us. He was totally capable of going over everything with us but when you are paying a thousand dollars for their services and one of their lawyers can't take 15 minutes to meet with you at the end...That just doesn't seem like a good way to run things. The service we received was still fine but they said that a lawyer would be meeting us and that seems to be what you pay for. Perhaps there were special circumstances but no one said that.

Definitely would not use again. First appointment I was charged $600 1 hour meeting and 30 mins prior for reviewing information prior. From my meeting I knew she didn’t review very much and definitely not 30 mins worth. I could read front to back in 30 mins and she didn’t. She kept saying “ I won’t get into to much of the details now as that’s not overly important and will dig deeper into details if we go to court” (not word for word but you get the idea) After that it’s was just a money making opportunity for them. Don’t pocket dial the lawyer as there’s probably a $200 charge for picking up. You have to go off faith that it took them as long as they say to read and reply to your email. On top of their $400 per hour they get to always round up to their best interest which will cost you more as I never seen by the minute in my invoices as they showed rounded up. Here’s the kicker.. if you want to pay with Credit cards then there’s another 2.5% fee. Which other company can get away with this? Dealership don’t, Costco don’t and I sure would never do this in my company. Service charges from merchant processing can be written off as expenses. Just another money grab. More of a liaison and IMO I ended up paying more for the settlement than I should have. I had 2 inches of proof the builder was at wrong but really no fight or helping the client “ more of if you can settle outside of court it will save you money”. Go elsewhere. I wish I did. The letters from the opposing lawyer were always showing they were fighting for their clients. Yes she helped me understand some of the legal jumbo verbiage and negotiate a final clause to be removed but I feel IMO she should have fought harder especially for their hourly rate. I spent $3700 which IMO was not worth the service I received.

Mr. Kahane returned my email the next morning with the utmost respect and empathy for my fiance and I. I will leave the original post before the edit for reference. I have planned to write this review for a long time. I feel my fiance(Emily) and I were wronged in our dealings with this law office. All dates are approximations to shorten this review. I do have exact dates via our documents and emails. I will not be releasing any personal information except our names. To Kahane's defence we were given a full refund twice however the damages done can not be given back. Professionals are hired for a reason. Mistakes were made and no formal apology was given and that is why I am back writing this review. I am not here to lie and will only give opinions and facts i have proof of. I am here to tell my story and hopefully receive a formal apology. My fiance is American and we wanted her to immigrate to Canada to share our life here. We had no idea what we were doing so we went to google and found one of the top rated law offices for immigration. Kahane Law Office was that office. It was March 2015. We contacted them and spoke to an individual named "G" and later also worked with a lady named "M". We worked closely with these individuals. I am not the easiest to work with and can be annoying when worried or unsure. We requested a PR via spousal sponsorship. We paid the quoted amount in full and signed all paper work. This is important: We answered all questions on a "extensive questionnaire". Including a question asking where Emily's father was born. Which after a few phone calls we found out it was Canada. After working with Kahane Law Office till May. 2015. I was found not eligible to sponsor Emily till July. 2016. I was given a full refund and was told they would be happy to work with me again when I was eligible to sponsor Emily. I came into contact with Kahane Law once again in July. 2016. Paid in full and continued the journey once again with a new person named "L" who had replaced "M". Upon further review of the questionnaire from May. 2015 it was found that Emily was able to just become a citizen automatically. Great news. We were happy but also greatly saddened by by having to wait until August 2016. 1.5 years after our contact with Kahane Law. No work, no school just on a tourist visa. After trying to get a hold of "G" and wasn't able too. I sent a complaint email to Mr. Kahane. Explaining what had happened and my concerns. I explained calmly and professionally my feelings about what had happened. Soon after I received a call from "G" terminating there services with us with a full refund and a brief explanation on how to do a Proof of Citizenship application. After I gave them a second chance to help me with Emily's Proof of citizenship application. We told them originally through the questionnaire that Emily had a Canadian born father. I feel they didn't look over the documents that they had asked for and what we paid them for. Then when brought up to the owner of a business we were thrown out because a client was upset, not belligerent or rude but just upset. I feel they didn't care and I was just another waste of time. I truly thought about giving a 2 star rating because of the refund but thinking from a business stand point. This was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. Feel free to contact me anytime Mr. Kahane and I will gladly take down any bad review I can immediately.

I've been working with this firm for several months. Every call I make goes to VM and both the lawyer and her assistant take days to respond, if they choose to at all. Information is mailed out to the wrong address; information is mailed out to the wrong person. There is extremely poor communication from both the lawyer and her assistant on next steps in what is a complex process, which has caused needless delays, and which have, in-turn, caused further complications. Unprofessional, unresponsive, absolutely do not use them.

Was quoted $800 just for a consult to see if I had a case. They knew my backstory (recently.laid off, no severence, lost my house) yet still wanted $800. They claim to be affordable but this ? In my opinion they have the flexibility to be just that, flexible. A shame really because I had heard great things about this firm. Edit: with all that unemployment brings we can get muddled in our understanding of how firms deal with their fee structure. I was not clear and did not ask the proper questions - a lesson for all. I want to thank Jeff Kahane for personally reaching out to me after learning of some concerns we had after working with them to purchase our home. I was under the impression that they had to send our title to our HOA but after speaking with Jeff he clarified that land titles is not only running behind, but that they typically don't send that off to anyone but the home owner. He pulled our title and emailed me a copy right away. There was also some miscommunication between the sellers of the house and their lawyers regarding city tax payment, resulting in us being charged a penalty for late payments (payments that were due before we took possession). When I discussed this with Jeff he said that he would look into this further as it seems their paperwork was correct and the sellers were supposed to have paid for the month. Jeff called me back right away to confirm this was the case and is working with the other law office to get us reimbursed. I did have some issues with phone calls not being returned, but after speaking with Jeff he informed me that our contact there had been on holidays and apologized for any lack of communication on their end. I am quite impressed with Jeff and his desire to ensure good customer service. I really appreciate his taking the time to clarify some misunderstandings and to help me better grasp what their role is in the process of securing our home.

I recently got my home deal executed by them. The firm is good and emails were precise. I didn't like the support team. The receptionist is so rude. When I entered the office first time, instead of welcoming with smile. She didn't even look at me. I waited for 5 minutes and when I asked she rudely told me to be in one of the room. I thought it might be a bad day for her. Again, when I went to drop a draft there, she didn't even look at me for 5 minutes. Out of my frustration, when I told her that I am here to drop a draft, she got me a glance and continued to work. I thought I caught her in middle of her work so waited again for 5 minutes. After that I had to tell her that I am here for last 10 minutes and I just need to drop this envelop, she took it and again with the usual angry look. I feel it needs to be addressed.

I had high hopes with Kahane Law, as I had seen so many wonderful reviews, great advertising, and extremely reasonable pricing for services. I retained a Lawyer to assist with probate on becoming an executor of a will. I began this process in the Fall of 2019 and had high hopes this would be a reasonable quick process to complete the application and file with the Courts, as I was originally assured. It has been nearly 4 months since I have heard any updates, after multiple emails un answered emails and meetings where there had been no updates after... As a single mother, this is extremely frustrating, stressful and causing a lot of anxiety. Bills are piling up on the Estate and I have had no real response on where this file is at. I cannot access information on the estate, as I am in limbo with this case... I would have though/hoped this could have been processed with the courts by now.

Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. A few months ago I became a widow. To say that doing simple things is hard is an understatement. Never mind "updating" my Last Will. Originally I had an appointment with a different Lawyer (not from Kahane Law), the same one who had processed the first will. However, I ended up cancelling that appointment because I felt like a number. Know that feeling? It's very unpleasant. Option 2 was my friend's Lawyer. Nice, but she didn't communicate well and I didn't feel confident that she would do a good job. Finally, I went to Kahane Law after searching for options online. My Cooperators Insurance Adviser had recommended them months ago regarding a different situation and I forgot. The moment I saw the name I remembered and gave them a call. They got me in the next day. I met with Shannon Galon and everything clicked into place from there! She spoke with so much knowledge, explaining the paperwork and checking that I understood. We found her very receptive, knowledgeable and helpful. She explained the process, patiently answered our questions and suggested very good options.
