I went there for training as an air cadet. killed my feet after weeks of drill but was pretty cool.

Supporting the community with local jobs. Anyone who complains about noise should know what they are getting themselves into when they move by one of the biggest air force bases in canada.

Quarantined at Trenton - March 2020. Lodge accommodation was great. Red Cross & volunteers kept us safe as virus began its deadly toll worldwide. Back in Australia now with memories of Canadian hospitality.

It’s an air force base that simple. Oh when stuff hits the fan these folks are defending you….so have a bit of humility and deal with some “low flying” aircraft and noise at night in exchange for your rights to complain. Food for thought….

it was fun there when i went there 3 yrs ago and this year i'm going again for basic aviation

People don't realize that a lot of the night time flights are usually because of the Search and Rescue Squadron. Yes they're loud and may even fly low but they're primary goal is to help/save people that are in danger, need rescuing, or those who call for help, period. If you don't like the noise, consider moving. Their operation is 24/7 and if someone's life is in danger/needs help then they go up in flight no matter the time of day to help save those people calling for assistance, which can require low aerial flights!

Seeing the world In a different way

The Canadian airforce base / airport designated (YTR/ CYTR) located in Trenton Ontario serves as an important air transport hub and maintenance facility for Canada's military aircraft. Here you will find Canada's 8 Wing command, which includes; 424 transport search and rescue squadron, and several Air transport squardons (426, 429, 436, 437). If you visit the airport you will see several CF 130H Hercules military transport aircraft on the ramp or see them flying operational missions that can span to remote locations and Northern communities in Canada as well as international peace keeping/ humanitarian aid and military missions around the world. Canada's armed forces provides essential services and protection for Canadians and we should be proud of our men and women who serve our country. If you like my reviews, photos or videos give them a Hercules thumbs up.

Nothing like screaming engines while on the ground at 3am to keep you awake at night. Operations has NO consideration for the public when they are conducting training exercises.

It's an RCAF Wing it really isn't meant for tourists.

They fly too low over residential areas that are MILES from the base. If they were closer to the base I could see it , but when they're that far away how much landing space do they need?
