18 months ago we made a huge investment in new gutters for our cabin. The old gutters had lasted about 20 years and were starting to show some signs of their age. We decided decided to replace them with new ones from Modern. 11 months ago when we got a bit of snow a huge section of the gutters came off the roof. It was obvious that Modern did a horrible job installing the gutters. They used very short screws and in some places it was about 6 feet between screws. The only thing worse than the installation job has been the customer service since. For 11 months they have lied about coming to rectify the problem. I recommend you find another company if you are in need of gutters.

I ordered and had window installation done by modern. There were a couple issues I noticed with the install which once I mentioned they were quick and prompt to remedy. I wish modern was in tuned with the latest efficiencyBC rebates as they were not as helpful as I hoped when I was inquiring through them about the rebates and the R values on their products. Turns out the windows I ordered from them didn't meet the specs for the rebate and I was under the assumption before buying that the ones I ordered would meet R-value required for rebates. Other than that modern windows are nice looking and the crew did a good job finishing them!

Bait and switch - Big full page ad promise to match big box store prices on deck railings. Then overquoted by 50%, said their product was much higher quality (it wasn’t). Then charged me over $100 for 2 wall brackets that retail for $15 at HD. When I questioned the price, the staff laughed and said “Don’t like it? Then go shop at HD.” I haven’t been back and never will be. We’ve spent over $50k elsewhere on renovations since then. In response to Modern’s comment - yes indeed is was Modern and it was over 10 year ago. And I will not be doing business with this company again. Ever.

Modern Windows did an amazing job in selling and installing a 60 feet glass railing on my beach cabin. Regardless of the install being located on Savary Island, which is pretty complicated and a remote, Dan's entire team was awesome. They were on-time, polite and professional all the way thru. From my first call to get a quote to my last call to confirm warranty, all was smooth and cordial. It was the best experience I've had in a long time in the area. I absolutely recommend them. The most important factor for me was their transparency and willingness to make sure the job was done to our satisfaction. It seems simple, but in reality its hard to find great professionals that care. They have earned a customer for life. :)
