I looked all over Homestars and Google for a good landscape renovator to demo and rebuild my backyard. Prior to the renovation there was an old deck, some asphalt, and a lot of rocks and dirt. The reno was to demo all of that and put in artificial turf, several garden beds, and a patio with concrete pavers. Tim was my main point of contact, and Elli ran the crew during the actual reno. I can't say enough positive things about the company, Tim, the communication, their patience, the quality of the work, the crew themselves, and the finished product. I write this several months after finishing the work where I can firmly say that the work was top notch and has held up well through the settling of everything and the start of winter months. Tim was very flexible about the design and selecting specific materials (I had preferences about the type of turf, the type of pavers to use, even the silica sand we wanted for the turf), and was very honest and straightforward about the pricing. When there were changes and issues during the reno process, he was up front about that too. I say this with confidence as I had interviewed and discussed costs and estimates with two or three other reputable companies. Tim did an A+ job even though I was one of his smaller clients and not that much money on the line. It's a testament to his work ethic, pride in his company, and quality of his work and crew. I have nothing bad to say. Sometimes I had to poke him a bit in communication, but that is true of all busy contractors as I have come to understand. He was excellent to work. I have a lot of eye for detail and wanted to make sure the landscape grading was done optimally, that things were laid out exactly as the design because I have a small yard where even one foot of error is pretty noticeable, and the right process was followed to make sure the landscape is built durably and to code so it would last a long time. Every time I quizzed them about what they were going to do, it was always exactly as should be done. Be aware, there are lots of contractors out there that will use shoddy materials and cut corners, skip laying the right bases in or materials in to save time and money; not Oak Home Services. I would wholeheartedly recommend them and am happy to answer questions about my experience with them or share photos of our renovation with anyone who is curious. These guys are the real deal; they do excellent quality work, are affordable, are honest, were a real pleasure to work with, and the final product is a joy to look at and walk around and will be for years to come... Hire these guys.

Tim was really great to work with. He accommodated my schedule, recommended beautiful brick options within my price range, was responsive and overall great to work with. His team removed an old, small existing concrete patio and made a bigger patio with brick using a herringbone pattern. Tim and his team were wonderful to work with, very honest and respectful. We engaged Oaks Home Services to completely rebuild the front steps, frontage and garden borders at the front of our home. They responded quickly to our request for a quote, offered us many ideas on how the ‘new’ look might be approached and the different natural stone materials that could be used. We appreciated the fact that Tim attended at the stone supplier’s location to check out and assess different natural stone products and advise us as to their strengths and challenges. The crew designated to do the work were extremely hard workers who accomplished a great deal each and every day of the project. We were extremely impressed by the skills they brought to the job- each step (old material removal, digging out the work area, filling and tamping a solid work base, building of concrete forms and wiring of reinforcing wire, pouring and smoothing of cement base, cutting of stone and laying/levelling of stone cement base, grouting and brick work)- was done in a precise and exacting manner- no short cuts! They gave each step the attention it required and were very accommodating to mid-course adjustments and improvements we made that only become apparent when the work is underway. The final result exceeded our expectations and will likely be around long after we’re not! We recommend Tim and his team without reservations.

I’ve spent so much time trying to bring my backyard back to life. It’s always had issues with weeds and the grass just wasn’t able to grow because there’s a park in the backyard. I also had a new tree that started growing from animals bringing berries and seeds and I pretty much didn’t have any patio space. So every day I was spending hours just working on the weeds. So I finally decided to get my backyard completely redone. I had an idea of what I was looking for and called several companies for quotes. When I contacted Oaks Home Services, I got a great feeling right away from Tim. He called me back right away and asked if he could come and see the backyard to give a quote. Based on that meeting I decided to go with Oaks. We talked through some ideas and he gave me different price points so that I could decide how I wanted to proceed. The job was a challenging one because the only access through my backyard is through my house and I had to get permission for the team to go through my neighbour’s backyard and then ultimately pay for any repairs which I was fine with and luckily my neighbour gave me the ok. Tim was so amazing to work with...he was always patient with all my questions and was very responsive. He always gave great ideas and his opinion on things that I hadn’t even considered...for example a flat stone vs textured. Ultimately I went with textured based on his recommendation. The job consisted of removing my old small patio and building a bigger patio, resod the lawn, remove a tree and clean up all of the rogue branches and remove the twigs, and put in a flower bed. On the first day I also decided to get a new fence which wasn’t planned and Tim had to search for lumber. He didn’t get annoyed and began his search. The guys showed up on time at 8am every day and they worked with minimal breaks until 8pm. Such amazing work ethic! They also answered any questions that I had as they were working on different aspects. These guys work hard! And do such great work! You can tell that they take great pride in their work...it’s like they’re working on their own property. I had read the reviews by others and it’s all true what people say about Tim and the team. I can’t even begin to tell you how impressed I was with them. I don’t recommend many people but I would definitely recommend Oaks Home Services!!!! I LOVE my new backyard. It looks so clean, fresh, and amazing!
