This Architect is classified in the category of Tourist attraction.
Wonderful Saskatchewan experience going back in time. I enjoyed both tours and will take my visitors there. Check out the murals. The fudge factory does not operate their own shop anymore. Very sad. Driving distance from Saskatoon
Fun way to kill 50 minutes. The actors were informative and interactive. I very much enjoyed Matthew's performance on the Chicago connection tour. He was super into his character and the theatrics were fun. Might be a tad scary for kids sometimes and there are a few jump scares. To get more out of the experience, do what the actors tell you to do.
This was the best $15 I've ever spent. It was a fun, interactive experience with the most enthusiastic staff. I loved learning all about Al Capone and his connection to Canada.
Went to see the tunnels. Checked online to make sure it was wheelchair friendly. It said it was but upon arrival a very rude front desk lady said it wasn't and it seemed to be very inconvenient to be even asking her about it. We were a little disappointed as we had travelled from Regina to see them.
Interesting place! I went on the Al Capone tunnels tour and the sets were very well made. My only complaint is that this ended up being more of a show and less of a historical tour than I expected. The hosts were fun but I can't say I learned terribly much. Still, wandering around under the street was interesting and all the sets were really well done. Careful though- this is not a good place for kids who tend to be anxious or very shy.
Very entertaining. The actors did a great job!
Highly recommend this activity! Actors were amazing! Husband and I really enjoyed the tours.
An interesting piece of history right here close to home! Staff does a very good job on their tours. Very informative and entertaining.
Visited from Toronto. Great experience. Very cool since the whole Chicago tour has live actors guiding you through the tunnels. Actors are very interactive with the tour group and make the whole thing fun. It was a bit shorter than I expected but it didn’t let down. So great walking through the actual tunnels. I recommend this for anyone visiting SK!
Worth the trip. Great interactive tours. The passage to Fortune was so much better. If you are only going to do one tour, do that one.
Loved the tour here. Definitely a fun place to go to and take the fam jam. Kids loved it here. Lots of history and cool things to see. More fun then we thought we would have and was nice to make some new memories.
Was a cheap and fun experience. Would tell you more, but gotta keep some secrets. Go check it out. My family and I enjoyed it.
The acting was great, the actors were really into their character! Quite pricey if I say so myself, but for the experience, it is worth It! A must do in Moose Jaw!
Weak acting made the experience less enjoyable than previously.
Excellent tours. I attended all 3 of them. A guy who played trainer of recruits in Bunker 24 and I think in Passage to fortune too is born to be an actor. Very vibrant play making you feel as if you really traveled in that time.
I have been to them 20 years ago and a second time today (now there are 2 tours, we did the Chicago tour, didn't have the time for both). Definitely a must do if you're going to be passing through Moose Jaw. I would recommend doing both and starting with the Chinese tour (chronological order in time). A very interesting history for what you would have thought would be just a sleepy town in Saskatchewan. They have actors portray characters from the era and the ones that we had (I think the girl was Marie, didn't figure out who the guy was but his accent was awesome!) Did a great job. That being said I kind of enjoyed my first tour more because the tunnels were more original sized (they've been reinforced and widened for tour purposes). Also I had no idea what I was about to learn about so the surprise element was there for me. And we were in the tunnels for the whole of the tour.
Fun! Dramatic tour of the Al Capone tunnels. Really neat. And the people in Moose Jaw? Consistently friendly and helpful.
A great place to learn a piece of Canadian history. Fun and interactive.
My daughter and I went on the tours as part of a school field trip. The tours were much better than I had expected. We both found them to be very interactive, entertaining, and informative. Great guides!
Really cool Saskatchewan history! Highly Recommended! We wish the tour sizes were smaller as I am short and I had a hard time seeing or hearing. Staff is excellent.
The tours were greatly designed and wonderfully immersive. Tour guides dress appropriately for the periods they represent, and take on characters as they take you through the historical 'steam tunnels' of Moosejaw.
A must-see if you're visiting the friendly city. The variety of experiences on offer is growing and it's interesting to go down below street level and move between the sets.
Had a great time, I highly recommend taking the tour when in MJ
Fantastic acting, very interactive, and overall and amazing experience! I won't give anything away, but if you have to pick one of the two tours, pick the bootlegger one!
Great experience!!! Will be coming back. Just superb. Bravo to Frany and Gus!
This was a really good place to go to. The acting was splendid. I think my hosts and hostesses were Carl, Anne Rose (?), my deepest apologies I unfortunately cannot remember who else. But excellent Job you all for making an entertaining and informative fifty-five minute walkthrough of the Moose Jaw Tunnels. To be more specific with my thanks to the acting crew it was on May Thirty-First the Nielburg Grade Ten class trip to the tunnels. My strongest of thanks to those working that day. And always remember, Fuggeta bout it!
We did the Capone tour. Next time we'll tty the Chinese underground. A really cool experience but too strict about photos. I get why they don't want you to take any & post them but there were a lot of very interesting "sets" that would have been nice to add to the vacation scrapbook. Worth a visit if you've never been before.
Very cool, very enthusiastic staff and great history. Good 'ol Al Capone. Lots of fun exploring the Tunnels.
The tunnel are surprisingly long (but you have to be assisted by a guide). The show the guides put out is entertainment. Be aware for non English speaker. Their accent can be hard to understand. The link between the tunnels, rooms, and display and the storyline can be at time fuzzy, but overall interesting
If you're looking to learn about Canadian history, I think the tunnels of fortune are probably the way to go. We did the chicago tour which was good, but more of a theatrical performance than learning about what actually happened.
A fun stop when passing through Moose Jaw! Connor and Kiera were great :)
An unique, historical treasure. It was very enlightening about the history of Chinese immigrants. Canada was built on the backs of many people.
Had an amazing time taking the Tunnel tour in Moosejaw! It was my first time in town and I’ll definitely be back! The actress that plays Fanny was amazing. The tour wasn’t too lengthy and was very knowledgeable and family friendly. Definitely worth checking out while in Moosejaw!
My experience here was amazing!!!! I would highly recommend going here if your passing through Moose Jaw, or just live in Moose Jaw trying to have some fun! The acting was really great, and overall the trip was amazing! Personally, with me living in Moose Jaw it is nice to know about the history of Moose Jaw and Al Capone. Definitely worth going to see and see for yourself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great experience! Did the Chicago Connection and Bunker 24. Informative and fun, great for all ages!
These were pretty interesting. It's an adaptation not necessarily exactly what happened. But it's certainly entertaining and great theatrics. We enjoyed ourselves on both tours and will definatley take my family back when we go.
I visited both tunnels with my parents. They grew up in Saskatchewan and were amazed that they were not aware of this part of their history. The tour itself was interesting and the guides did a good job of bringing it to life. However, as my parents are in their 80's they found it difficult to hear and follow what was being said because it was delivered with accents and very quickly. Perhaps a "straight" tour where a walk through with a commentary about the tunnels and their history could be offered once or twice a day. I know I would have liked more of an opportunity to ask questions. Thank you.
Very interesting experience, and Fannie(Rachel) and Gus(Kevin) stayed in character throughout the whole tour. It was an eye-opening experience. Including earning a new nickname, as well as being last one out, and first one charging. Thank you for the experience, Door Stop, aka. Alvin
A great immersive way to learn about history. The actors were great, and they involved you in the story, which did have a tad bit of suspense. Definitely recommended
Both tunnel tours are really awesome and worth the money. They create an atmosphere which makes you feel as if you are living in that time only. Must visit place if you're visiting Moose Jaw. Staff is friendly and kind.
An awesome place to visit when in Moose Jaw. It is actually a go to place to visit when you are in the area. I have done the tours twice now and I enjoyed them both each time. I would not be surprised if I go a third time.
Excellent tour that was very interactive. The actors are amazing and the extras were super cool to see, all the hidden doors and features, felt like I was thrown back in time and was actually there. A must see for Moose Jaw
It's a Saskatchewan gem. You can't visit Moosejaw and not visit the tunnels. I've been to both tours recently and they are well written and acted out. The animatronics are dated and takes away from the immersion but overall well done.
Good history, good acting, a little bit too contrived perhaps, but entertaining enough.
Undoubtedly an awesome experience!! Not only was the actual historical facts very interesting, but the way they put on the tour captures you and makes you a part of the whole experience. Live actors and full sets that you and the group walk through. I would recommend this to anyone in town.
This place is amazing and intriguing. The tour guide was professional and funny. The history and information kept inside the tunnels are mind blowing and very crucial to understanding the reason being certain things in some Canadian city. I have much appreciation for the Chinese after seeing(somewhat experiencing)what they went through decades back. God bless CANADA!!
This is the best tour that I have ever been on! I laughed so much that I almost cried and I learned lots about AL Capone (Chicago connection tour) a must see in Moose Jaw
The actors were great. Kept us laughing while teaching us facts. A great way to spend a hour
The actors were great. They brought the tour group together through laughter and good acting. It was good for the kids to learn and see history in a fun way. Highly recommend.
Definitely worth the money. Great interactive experience.
Nice preservation of the power games in real life. One more sad example of how humans treat humans. Thank goodness that such a behaviour is no more found or tolerated in Canada. Though, in some parts of world the human values are still at stunningly low levels.
This tour was a whole lot of fun. It was interesting, the performers did great and there was plenty of laughs. Great group activity!
Performance was good and set dressing of rooms on your was much better than I expected. Look forward to trying some of the other tours if I'm back this way. This review is for the Al Capone one.
This personally is like a dream job come true but dispite my best efforts to try and be apart of the crew, failed for unknown reasons. But, the history, you can take from this place is fascinating! My personal favourite is the Ol Chicago Connection.
This was a great experience, learned a lot about the prohibition day's.
A unique guided tour that also serves as a fun history lesson. The actors really love their job, making the experience much more immersive. There is a small selection of souvenirs you can purchase both in relation to the tours offered and as a visitor of Moose Jaw, but more interesting are the historical newsprint, articles, books and photos lining the walls you can peruse before the tour begins. Great for families of all ages and history buffs.
There are stairs up and down in both tunnel experiences, so if you have substantial mobility issues, this may not be the destination for you, however there is a chair lift for the last staircase (about 45 minutes in). There are 2 options for tunnel experiences: one is fun, one is very serious. Try the serious one first if you're doing both. Otherwise, we had an awesome time. The people who took us on our tours were all very good, and went above and beyond!
Such a great experience! We did the Chicago one and loved it! Can't wait to for the other to reopen so we can come back and do it! The staff was amazing, played their characters really well. "Gus" was spot on and super entertaining. "Fanny" was also very good. Top notch experience had by our family for sure.
Really educational and interesting! The actors are amazing at playing their part and keeping the interest of the people on the tour. The ONLY thing I would recommend doing differently is maybe put an age limit like 5 and up or something.. there were 2 loud toddlers on our tour that were misbehaving and I could barely hear the tour guide! Not the establishment’s fault tho, it’s the guests that decide to bring 2 young children that can’t behave
They were a lot of fun. It was interesting how the Chinese immigrants were kept down in the tunnels washing cloths. Not much of a life. To think Al Capone also used the tunnels for boot legging. Having a train that ran from Moose Jaw right down to Chicago was really handy for him during proabition
Great experience in Moose Jaw. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and play the part very well. You are truly immersed into the experience while going through the Tunnels. It's great for all ages and can be enjoyed numerous times.
Amazing tours. I've been 3 times. Incredibly detailed set. Hope for a good tour guide becuase it's a hit or miss with the actor's ability to interest you and interact along the way.
More fun than historic. It's entertaining. Well done quality of acting and story, and tunnels are decorated in detail with pieces from the times of Al Capone.
Tour was well done. They made it suitable for kids. If just in an adult group they will make it more interesting.
Great actors and animatronics representing the historical people. Great experience of history as most of it is original. Highly recommend doing both tours. Passage of fortune and Al Capone' s bootleggers. Each tour is 50 minutes beneath the city where they've recreated the reality for people to experience
This was a very cool experience, to anybody wondering if they should try it or not, DEFINITELY TRY IT! You wont regret it. It's fun, they get into character and it's very informative
Really cool lots of history in moose jaw, however our first tour guide for the fortune of I can't remember mumbled a lot and u couldn't really understand him
We did the Chicago Connection tour and it was fantastic. The tunnels are a cool interconnected maze and our actors played their parts perfectly. Highly recommended.
The tunnel tour guide was so much fun. He did an amazing job at staying in character and rolling with the punches. I throughly enjoyed myself.
Went on both tours and they were awesome. The one about immigration was very interesting and touching to hear. I highly recommended visiting the tunnels. Came out all the way from Winnipeg and was not disappointed!
No social distancing. We left half way through
I dont believe the tunnels are fake in any way. I have lived here 20 years myself and when I was young, they didn't know where they were. Remember the big fire on river St in the middle of winter a few years back that revealed a lot of the new tunnels.
Did both tours back to back. The "Passage to Fortune" was more informative and more serious. The "Chicago Connection" was fun and more upbeat, with some laughs. Really liked the secret doors.
No wait
Really fun, great hosts, neat experience! May be a bit scary for the younger children, a few loud unexpected bangs and showing old guns.
Very interesting and theatrical. The guides involve guests in the tour and make it super fun
Enjoyed it but thought it would have a little more dramatization. For example : at some point , Fanny or Gus should say to someone,” YOU don’t look like a drinker to me! Perhaps your a spy?? Then prove it by drinking this! If you refuse,I know you’re a spy ( offer water out of an authentic looking bottle) , then, “ okay everyone gets a drink ( a sip in a tiny disposable cup)? Then at the very end when it’s finished, I felt that we should have received a souvenir of sorts.. maybe a card that says ,” I went thru the Chicago connection tour at Moose Jaw tunnels.” ( or whichever tour they took ) I still have to take the immigration tour to do on my next trip
Real and not so real presentation of prohibition in Moose Jaw. Very interesting and well played.
Great history shown in an engaging way. The Chinese immigrant experience was really eye opening. The kids (13 to 16) said that they found it interesting as well.
Did not know what to expect from this exhibit. There are 2 tunnel tours available: Passage to Fortune and Chicago Connection. We took the Passage tour. It begins in one building and goes through tunnels to another building. It is kinda like a 'docudrama' based on a real laundry business that hires chinese immigrants and the owner takes advantage of their situation coming into Canada early 1900s. The tour guide in times goes into character and 'puts you in their shoes'. It made me feel for these particular Chinese Immigrants and the extreme hardships and prejudices they faced. But it is an important story to know or remember for all immigrants. They came to this great country Canada with high expectations and faced barriers and hardships because they were different. I had mixed feelings during our tour. It was engaging and at the same time depressing. I thank my own descendants who went through their own journey to the 'Golden Mountain' Canada. I appreciate the courage they had for bringing my family here. Take the tour and experience it for yourself. It is worthwhile.
It's was truly amazing! The workers were all so nice, actors were very interactive and stayed in character, it was outstanding!
Went to both of the Tunnel tours few years back the Al Capone one and the Chinese one both were very interesting. So much to see and how the mob got away with so much boot legging back in the day and the Chinese one was very sad to see how they lived and how badly they were treated made me cry. But both a must see and the price is fair.
It is cool with very good acting and nice tour. But not very educational. Its more just for entertainment but still worth it
Did the prohibition tour. Super cheesy over acting including an attempt at some sort of Chicago accent that just made it hard to understand. Complete waste of $15 and 50 minutes I'll never get back. The short movie at the beginning was the only part that wasn't horrible.
The "Chicago connection" provides an unusual cinematic experience for my family. I am looking forward seeing two other coming soon tours.
Wow. Need I say more. The actors made it incredible. Story was great but they pushed it over the top. Will do again. I highly recommend doing it. Was super cool.
Our family took The Chicago Connection Tour about Al Capone and bootlegging. So much more fun than we were all expecting. Great acting along with heritage props and pieces throughout - makes you feel like you're part of the times. Funny, informative and both boys (ages 9 and 14) enjoyed. Super family stop and highly recommend.
It was fun for the most part, other than having a two-year-old child in are group who cried the whole time. Basically had a tantrum the whole time.
Great little historical tour. Funny, personable tour guides. Learned, laughed, enjoyed. Not wheelchair accessible and a challenge for anyone who had difficulty with stairs. But, for everyone else, well worth the price of admission. Do both yours if you have time. Better bang for your buck.
A super fun way to spend a few hours in moosejaw.
The tours are interesting. The downside is they're not very accessible to deaf and hard of hearing guests. The videos aren't captioned, tour guides don't speak terribly loud or clearly and they talk FAST! $72 for 3 kids and an adult for 2 hours of entertainment is similar to the cost of movie but more interactive.
Such a great fun tour, its been a few years and I still remember this tour whenever I see a movie about the Prohibition. Great atmosphere and interesting stories from history.
Pretty neat that they have tunnels under the streets of Moose Jaw but, while the tour was definitely entertaining, it didn't talk much about how or when the tunnels were built and what they may have been used for.
Awesome ! Normally not big on performance type tours but I loved this. Our guides were amazing and fun, Calvin put on such a great show for us. The tunnels were so so cool to see.
Very fun tour. Stories are speculative, but based on very real history of the region. Makes you feel just a little bit about what the history was about. Chinese tour is based on some of the very difficult history that Chinese immigrants experienced. Well-presented. Courteous staff.
Awesome , interesting , that is all I can say for Tunnels of Moose Jaw, and am lucky I visited those places.
Wait time
Really cool tour with exceptional acting to take you back in time. Well worth the price for entry.
Excellent tour of Chicago gangster Al Capone's tunnel system in Moose Jaw. This was not a cave or a mine...it was a legit construction job using mortar & brick/stone/wood slats. Best of all was the re-enactment by the guides and animitronic characters.
Awesome tour.. went on it years ago when I was a kid and brought my girlfriend here last week and she loved it.. the actors are excellent and the tour is short but great
Weekend
The place was well-kept and the actors were great! Would highly recommend -- my 13 year. Old daughter loved it too
Its a hidden gem in Moose Jaw downtown. There are two tours in the tunnels of Moose Jaw. The Chicago Gangster is the best. My family loved it.
The tour guides were very through in the information, with added humour , and they stayed in character so well. Both tours . Great piece of Saskatchewan history. We really enjoyed the tunnels.
We had so much fun! The staff make it quite an enjoyable, interactive experience. Would highly recommend taking both tours.
They have two different tours and they are both great. The tour guides get right into character and get everyone involved. Such a fun time and it is amazing what you learn. A must see if you are in the area.
Very interesting and interactive. The actors bring history to life. Wouldn't recommend for small children who might get scared by the acting. Lots of stairs and walking, one of our party had a stroller and they made it but it was difficult for them
The staff did an excellent job acting there parts on the tours thru the tunnels. Great way to tell us about the history.
They have two tours available and I thoroughly enjoyed both! If you're a history buff, you'll love both as well. The Chinese one is kinda sad but informative, and the Al Capone one was a lot of fun. Definitely a must see attraction in Southern Saskatchewan! It can be a little pricey but worth it!
Drove 4 hours to be told we should have booked on line as tours sold out. That should be one of the first things you see when you go on the website. Extremely disappointed.
The Al Capone tunnel is amazing, 5 stars just for that. Consider skipping the tunnels of fortune tour though, it's really boring and preachy.
I bought the combination package of two tours - Chinese immigration and Al Capone bootlegging - and found them both informative and interesting. Calvin was a very good and witty tour guide who made us feel involved in the plot. No photography was allowed so I have no pictures to share.
It's definitely neat to see the tunnels, but because the tour was dramatized, it wasn't as informative as I had hoped. So I guess it kind of depends on what you're looking for in the tour.
Absolutely a very interesting place! I want to see the new tunnel when it opens.
Great place to see. Very well done????????
A place I would highly recommend to people traveling through Moose Jaw. It is a great way to have fun and learn about the area's history. I have been to the tunnel many times and I always bring my friends from out of town here. The bootlegging one is my personal favourite and would be the most entertaining for younger people. The Tunnel to Fortune is very informative, interesting and it is a heartfelt story. I do find that the acting quality can vary a lot, but is a very cool experience overall. Plus, traveling through tunnels below the streets of the city is pretty cool.
This is a tourist attraction where guests buy a $15 ticket and get taken on a 50 minute tour through the recreated tunnels of Moose Jaw to teach us about the 1920’s - 1930’s days of Al Capone and the underground bootlegging era during prohibition days. It’s quite theatrical with the guides as ‘actors’ and although it’s a tad lame, it is an interesting place to visit and learn something at the same time.
This was a super fun experience as well as very informative. My heart goes out to the actors who work in the tunnels. I hope they get proper breaks. Everyone does a superb job, and is well rehearsed. The antiques are also very real and altogether you do get a feeling of being immersed in a chapter of Al Capone's story.
Surprisingly uninformative. I only did the bootleggers tour, so it was more drama than history lesson. Very cheesy, but have to give the tour guides/actors some credit for trying hard (especially Calvin). I didn’t find it good value for money, but families with young kids may find it entertaining.
Cute little tour that is quite interactive. The Chicago Connection tour gives a good overview of the prohibition era, informative. Expect a simulated experience.
took the chinese laundry tunnels tour, and it blew my mind. not just the fascinating tunnels, but the terrible history. my 7yo loved it, but the 4yo was a little nervous :) can't wait to go back and do the other tour!
Both tours were great. I loved how the actors/ tourguides knew there lines so well and could improvise if they needed to. Our tour guide in passage to free dom was very good at switching characters and accents fast. And our tour guide on the Chicago connection was very funny and made it more interactive.
Capone was lots of fun, Chinese story was interesting but sad. Robots are great! Tour guides ae excellent.
Very interesting and the tour guides were awesome and very interactive! Definitely would go again
Awesome tour takes you back to the rum running time of Al Capone in Moose Jaw Saskatchewan. The actor's bring it to life and engage the audience so that everyone feels a part of the show.
Really didn't want to go beacuse im not in to stuff like this. But the fiancé convinced me! Super happy I went it was very intertaning! Actors are amazing!
It's kind of like short, interactive theatre. Awesome for young, school age kids' imagination. Entertaining and enjoyable for adults though certainly with the caveat that the quality can vary based on the actor/guide. I enjoyed my visit overall.
We did both tours. We enjoyed them both. The Chicago tour was very entertaining and fun, the passage to fortune tour was very informative.
Lots of fun went with my school. We all had an amazing time! The tunnels are fair price and the tour guides know what their doing. Also I enjoyed the acting parts.
My wife and I really enjoyed our tour. It was highly entertaining. Keep up the good work
Wonderful actors who made this time period come to life!
Was an awesome tour...the tour guide made it fun and very interesting....would totally recommend to others!
Was really awesome! Would definitely recommend this place.
Despite living here for my entire early life I never went to the Tunnels. I was not disappointed! It was really fun, I felt like I learned a lot, and the acting the characters portrayed was extremely professional!
Great tourist visit. Actors do a terrific job of conducting tours and telling the stories. Recommended.
Well scripted tours, well performed. A must. A touch frightening for children. A wee bit sanitized to make it palatable. I did both tours, and both imply brutalities that require sanitization!
It would have been nice if it was more informative and not so theatric based.
Great experience, very friendly people. Made the tour more then what I expected by going above and beyond in their roles.
Truly an amazing piece of Canada's history as you are fully immersed into the narrative of each story, both experiences enriched as told by live actors as you explore the tunnels! An experience I will never forget! My family heard of the tunnels for years, we finally made the trip and it was so worth it!
Man, what a great experience! You get into acting and you get to learn about the history in a fun way. I took the al Capone one. I would definitely do it again. The actors weren’t at their 100%, but it was the beginning of tourist season, so I don’t blame them. It really makes you forget time as you walk around. I highly suggest visiting here, even if you only have an hour.
Absolutely adored both tours. The Al Capone was full of jokes and tales of al Capone. The second was about Chinese immigrants living under the city. But well acted and more than interesting
I grew up a short distance from the tunnels but it took my 10 year old daughter who learned about them in school to draw me in. We did the Chinese tunnels first, immersed in the atmosphere and being barked orders from the tour guide... very educational but definitely heartbreaking. After this we did the Chicago connection, again immersed in the history and more of an uplifting experience. Definitely a must visit for anyone who enjoys historical events.
Very informative and engaging experience in Moose Jaw! We completed the "Little Chicago" experience which explained how Al Capone leveraged the city of Moose Jaw to help with his organized crime/bootlegging empire. Definitely learned a lot about Canadian History, which was great as it was quite exciting! You're not allowed to take any photos during the tour, but it's fine as it forces you to immerse yourself into the experience more. The experience is walking into different rooms/tunnels where the guides/actors provide you information about the room in context to the tour as it relates to Canadian history and way of life. The individual who played Gus was a standout, and the animatronic robots in the car we're incredibly life like! Tour was fun, and it actually took you across different parts of the street through downtown Moose Jaw and you end up back in the lobby.
I recommend the tunnels. It's a fun interactive theatre of sorts. This was my second time doing the Capone bootlegger theme. Fun experience.
Very interesting and staff were knowledgeable. Easy to book and find. Prices were very reasonable. Interesting history about moisejaw and Canada many may not know about.
the tunnels are great, loved learning about their history. however tours were pretty overcrowded, otherwise it's fun to see!
Great tour of the place with insightful historical facts. Cool place to go if you're ever in Moose Jaw.
My husband thinks a drink should have been appropriate to celebrate the prohibitions LOL It was fun, informative & thoroughly entertaining. We recommend anyone passing thru to stop by ????
No question - the actor I had was charismatic, sharp, and witty. Nothing like learning of the tunnels and experiencing the great performance art that comes with it. The effort is appreciated and the experience is delightful for the whole family. Check it out, and grab a cone nearby. Whether in need of adventure, whether interested in drama or the arts, a history buff, or a fan of Boardwalk Empire - whatever, this will be a great time.
Do both tours as they are quite different. If time for only one, do the Al Capone bootleggers one.
What a great tourist attraction. So informative and the tour guides (Calvin, Rachel and Ewan) were all absolutely excellent. Loved the tours and would recommend them to everyone.
We took both tours. The Passage to Fortune was very informative. The Chicago connection was less informative and more fun shenanigans. The price was okay for both tours and it's the main reason to stop in Moose Jaw. The mechanical guy playing the piano in the Chicago connection was very life like. And the guy who plays Gus did an outstanding job. It was really the employees that made this experience so good.
Did the Chicago Connection. The tour was pretty entertaining and the actors were a riot. The initial tour guides that hand you over to the actors could use a little more enthusiasm though. They had a lot of Moosejaw and Chicago history on their walls with photographs and their descriptions. I am a little skeptical about some of it (the Capone stuff) but that's to be expected with having little hard evidence. Regardless of the validity it was worth the experience. Had I had more time on my trip I'd have done both tours. If I pass through Regina for the Folk Festival again I will definitely make another appearance for both.
Al Capone tour was great as well as the Bunker 24
Great tour and overall experience!! Rachel as Fanny and Sam as Gus were amazing! Really well done with those long, tough monologs! Really fun to learn about Al Capone and what happened during prohibition!
This place was a place where there were two different tours in these tunnels. The actors guiding the tours were very entertaining. A friend I was with has been there five times and he will be there many more times. I will also go back plenty more times.
Neat history of pro-hibition & Al Capone. Groups of 10 or less are best. Some of the tour guides need to speak louder.
Was fun actors in Chicago connection could of been better and passage to fortune actors we great although at times can make you feel bad as they treat you like one of the Chinese immigrants. Very informative tho I enjoy that way more then Chicago one. Acting was just poor.
Wow. Not mush for enclosed places, but it was an eye opener. Love the history. The staff were wonderful in character. Loved Gus. He was Capone's thug. Well done.
The Al Capone tour has changed from what it used to be...found the old version much more exciting. The actors tried to keep it lively, "Gus" (Calvin) was especially good and entertaining and had a great Chicago accent, but the tour experience itself falls short on what it used to be prior to the change.
With attractions like this you expect them to be cheesy but in this instance not the case. The tunnel tours and the characters were excellent. I was expecting to be a little disappointed but I was thoroughly surprised at how well it was done. If you are in Moose Jaw and are looking for an attraction to visit go here
The tour was absolutely amazing.Fancy which was played by Rachel did an amazing job.And I would love to see this again. She is an incredible representation for your tours. Would definitely come back to do this again and see Rachel
Took in both tours. Interesting and loved the costumes. Slight damp musty smell at times which is understandable going through underground tunnels. Well informed friendly staff. Loved the costumes. Definitely worth the price to see once.
My first time to Moose Jaw so we had to check out the tunnels I didn't know anything about them before going my wife planned the trip, I found them fun entertaining and liked the history part of it, my only complaint is none of the stuff in the tunnels actually happen in Moose Jaw there's just ties to the area but still a fun experience and would like to return some day to explore more of the town.
It was fun, interactive and a great tour. The cost is cheap for the experience.
We took the Al Capone tour of the underground tunnels and it was great! The staff makes you feel as though you are part of the act as they inform you about the history of the tunnels. There is another tour that highlights the Chinese story of the tunnels but we did not have time for both, so we will do that one another time. They also sell some Saskatoon Berry and Maple products as well. I tried the Saskatoon Berry Spread and I recommend it.
First time and will not be my last, enjoyed every aspect, tour guides in character the whole time and did an amazing job
Great players. The experience is well thought out and inclusive. Answers most of the historical aspects and has some fantastic pieces involved. We attended the Tunnels and B24 and everyone involved was very professional and submersed into the role. Wouldn’t suggest leaving Moose Jaw without partaking in this activity.
Love these tours. Have done them before but you learn so much. Just remember they are showing and acting like it would have been don't take it personal.
Had a blast here! So glad we decided to duck in for a tour while passing through town. Definitely recommend this if you're looking for a fun activity!
Cool experience and nice guides.
I did the Al Caoone tunnel tour and had a blast. The staff/actors were amazing and talented. Very knowledgeable on the going ons during the Prohibition Period.
Great time but the staff on the counter and phones are rude. Tour guides are great and interactive and they answered all our questions. Kids even had fun.
Walk into history. A host will act out roles from Capone days. Good acting. Prepare to be excited. No alcohol, but watch your step and prepare for stairs.
Gus was great! Fanny was fun and the Capone tour was very intriguing! My 14 and 17 year olds both enjoyed it!
Great experience. I did not expect this. Even though it was only 2 of us the performance was entertaining and informative. Made a big detour on purpose to see the tunnels of Moose Jaw... do not regret it!
I have taken in both tunnel options. The guides were very informative and really knew their roles. Very professionally done. This is a great lesson in Canadian history. This is truly an experience worth taking in!
A great experience in Moose Jaw! We chose to do the Chicago Connection tour and it was funny, informative, and a fair price.
A fun and unique experience in the heart of Moose Jaw, the Tunnels of Moose Jaw offers two distinct tour experiences. The Al Capone one is fun, light-hearted, and theatrically entertaining. The other one is more of a somber, thought-provoking reflection on some of the discrimination faced by early Chinese immigrants to Canada. Both are entertaining in their own way and worth a visit.
Greatest experience in a while!! It was only the two of us, the actors were super great and we had lots of fun! It's 15 CAD per person and absolute worth ist.
An amazing experience. Do both tours for sure! Gives you such an amazing in depth knowledge of history. Went there for our 7 year anniversary and it was top notch.
Visited and took the Chicago connection tour. They did an excellent job bringing it to life. I may of thought there would of been more of a historical take on it. If your looking for more of an informative type of tour, this isn't it. This is more of a theatrical piece of the Al Capone bootlegging operation. Overall nice and would recommend.
Rich history that shows the hardships of some of the people who helped form Saskatchewan. The actors do a fantastic job and do a great job teaching and entertaining all at the same time. Good pricing and hours of operation
Went in the off season and only had time to do a self guided walk so I don't think there was as much theatrical role playing, too bad. The tunnel walk itself was extremely interesting, so much drama went on down here and most of us don't know anything about it. The tunnel entrance room is full of many interesting photos and stories and the souvenir shop is nice.
Reservation recommended
As always a fantastic time was had. The Passage to Fortune tour was extremely educational about a part of our history that is rarely talked about. Our tour guide Carl was phenomenal! He was great at slipping into character when needed to the point it really freaked out some of the people on the tour. He did an excellent job at bringing the history to life and captivating his audience. This is a must see tour! The Chicago Connection was also great. Definitely more theatrical and less serious but still brings to light another part of our history. The guides were great and the tour definitely draws you in and makes you feel like you might be in the 1920's when Al Capone was running things.
We lived it. The kids asked to do the show again. We will definitely return.
It was a very interesting tour with the tour guides in character all the time. The price was a bit high for what we got though.
Tunnels of Moose Jaw we did both tours and they both lasted for around 50 minutes. The tours were informative and gave you an insight into 1920's proabition and turn of century journey of Chinese immigrants. No photography allowed unfortunately. Out party enjoyed the proabition story the most.
We took visiting family there. 4 adults and 2 children. A good time was had by all. I can't go into details, fella has to keep his word.... after you go you'll understand.. I have done the 2 tours previously and the Capone tour would be the best. If you like this review please hit the like button.
Absolutely brilliant tour. If you're in Moosejaw this is a must see. It is about 45 minutes long. Unbelievable history of Al Capone and the early days. Great for the whole family. Would have posted some pictures, but no pictures or video aloud. Regardless very cool. Check it out.
The Chinese tunnels were more historical and eye opening. The Al Capone tunnels were more fun and theatrical. Overall a very interesting two hours.
The actors were great! I was expecting a factual tour 9f just walking through the tunnels but instead got a fun and interactive tour that families can enjoy.
Toured the tunnels earlier on this beautiful October afternoon. Fascinating! Most western Canadians likely have very little idea of the extent of Capone's operations beneath the streets of Moose Jaw. Incredible really. Tour guide was really into his role, but would be nice if they could somehow make the whole experience a little more interactive. And the new tour - Bunker 54 - what an eye opener! How was this facility ever built!? 6 levels down! Back in the 50's and 60's! Its like something straight out of a cold war sci-fi! The structure, the equipment ... incredible! The tour guide seemed to have his whole spiel pretty much memorized. Again, a little more interactive-ness would have been good! Like - even some opportunity for a few questions.
I've always loved it there ever since I was a kid.
An excellent and enjoyable way of respecting a more, and rare, shameful part of Canadian history. My kids loved it!! I strongly suggest as a reason to visit this beautiful and iconic Canadian city. #mustsee,#mustvisit,#history,#fun
Good concept and fascinating tourist idea... but I couldn't help but think it could be so much more. More actors, more interactive would be great. Ramp up the entertainment factor!
We did the passage to fortune tour and it was awesome. Our tour guide was extremely informative and really knew her stuff. It was very exciting to tour through the tunnels and really experience the life of a Chinese immigrant from the 1900s. This my second time doing this tour and it seemed better than the first time.
Roadtrip. If you are looking for a small city in a middle of nowhere with tonnes of attractions Moose Jaw will be on top of the list for sure. Tunnels of Moose Jaw is an awesome venue. Actors created a great atmosphere of a Prohibition times and I really felt like Al Capone can walk in to the tunnel any moment. Sorry, no photos allowed.
I visited many years ago when I was younger and I could never forget my experience, the mystery and the excitement they acted very well and made everything really fun. I will definitely be going again and now that I have a kid of my own I'll want her to experience this as well. This creates a memory that never leaves you.
Fun. A bit scary for the younger crowd. My 9 year old liked it, but my 6 year old was nearly crying through one part. Another little girl in our group was full on in tears. Hubby and I liked it.
We had such an awesome time in the tunnels! We had Carl as our tour guide and he was AMAZING! His tour was our favourite because of how well he played his part. Made it such an awesome experience for us!! We also liked Jed from the Chicago tour!
My wife and I enjoyed the Chicago Connection tour. Plenty of tongue in cheek melodrama and interesting details about the days of Prohibition.
Not allied to take pictures but the tour is so worth it. I understand why about no pictures. You have to experience it. We did the Al Capone your and just amazing.
Highlight of a trip back to Sask. Great customer service, they refunded our ticket for a next day showing when our car broke down on the highway. Enthusiastic actors and interesting history. Would recommend as part of any visit to Moose Jaw.
Very entertaining, they stay in character the entire time & show Al Capones real office & bedroom. Only $15\tour. I didn't see the Chinese tour I only went on Chicago tour, but well worth it
A great place to go and spend time learning about Moose Jaw's history. I've been twice. I would suggest if you decide to take both tours, you do the Chinese one first. It's a little sad and depressing. The first time I took the Chinese tour some children on the tour with me started crying.
The presentation was quite entertaining. We went with an atom hockey team and parents. It was age and circumstance appropriate. The organization has done a good job making the available history and tunnel remnants fun. When in Moose Jaw, it's something you should do at least once. It was worth what we paid.
We were so entertained it seems too short! We did the Al Capone tour which taught us about Al's business in Moose Jaw back in the days of prohibition. It starts off as a walking tour through an old building: through a large bar, Al's office and bedroom. Then through a secret door into the tunnels. A couple of animatronic actors in the first room was a fun touch. You see a few more underground rooms, then the actors set the scene that the police are chasing us and usher you through a series of secret doors and tunnels while gun shot audio is happening in the background. Chicago accents were perfect and the audience interaction was spot on. Lots of interesting old props including furniture and guns too. A lot of fun and way more entertaining than expected! There was a few flights of stairs so not recommended for those with mobility issues. A few tunnels were also dark and narrow with low ceilings so claustrophobic people may have issues. I was nervous the tour would have people jumping out but there was none of that. Just a couple of sudden sound effects.
Yes
The tour goes on following a nicely done script. The crew is very good at keeping you entertained. Sometimes it is hard to understand them due to masks being worn and the acoustic of the place
Really fun and great characters
The staff was excellent all around. The tour was well The time and money. I would recommend it to anyone.
Very cool experience.
Great way to spend some time in Moose Jaw. The tour was great they have some great characters that involve you as a participant. Well done by actors.
Great experience for anyone touring. I've been here when I was younger and remember bits of the tours although now that I'm able to enjoy the information given to me it was a very nice experience.
I've known about the tunnels for years, however just never got around to checking them out. Such a mistake! We went on the Chicago tour and it was amazing! A ton of great information and so much to see. Great actors who stay in character until the very end. Highly recommended.
OMG. I had heard we had to stop for a tour. Only had time for one tour and it was AMAZING. So worth it! My only regret is that it would have been nice to take a few photos so as to be able to show friends and family. Took the Chinese tour - coming from the Human rights museum in Winnipeg, it was a perfect complement to the museum visit. I'll definitely be trying the prohibition tour the next time!
Entertaining tour. Might have wished for a bit more actual info (rather than just the entertainment) but that could just be me. ????
We did the Chicago Connection with our kids. It was just okay. The acting was not great and I couldn't hear half of what they were saying. Things felt quite rushed and I wish we would have learnt and seen more of the tunnels. It was a neat experience though and I would like to try the other tour next time we are in town.
A superb attraction in Moose Jaw. Al Capone - who knew!!?? Actors are excellent. Great use of humour. Well worth the hour visit. Good value for the money.
A must to see if your in Saskatchewan. Good history!!
The actors were great!! Great historical information and fun. A must go if you visit the city.
Very exciting tour. This is a must see attraction in moose jaw. Staff couldn't have done a better job. Will be returning when more tours open
Rushed. Never saw half of the artifacts, and little information given on much of it honestly. Left with more questions than I came with. Unfortunate as I was looking forward to learning and experiencing. The guides were running through their lines like we weren’t even there...kind of odd.
A fun way to experience history! This was my first time at the tunnels and was impressed at the guide's expertise, the flow of the tour, and the amount of learned history. This was fun to experience as adults, but would be fun to bring your family/kids too as well! Fairly priced, it runs about 30 minutes long, and keeps you moving the entire time - this is a great way to learn more about Moose Jaw!
Great experience. Highly recommended
I did both the "Chicago Connection" and the "Passage to Fortune" tours and enjoyed the later more because it was more informative. But the former is more fun and upbeat if that is what you prefer. Very interesting elements of prairie town life that are seldom covered in history books. The only aspect that I didn't enjoy is that while on tour, you have to "pretend" that you are a member of the community that used the tunnels at the time. That works for many, but not my cup of tea.
Some sudden noises, and always anticipation. Very well done. Enjoyed it very much. Great family tour experience.
If you are stopping in or passing through Moose Jaw you should check out the tunnel tours. Our kids loved the theatrical approach to the tour. Lots of fun
The tours were very informative, the Chicago connection was humorous, and the path to fortune was heart wrenching, I would highly recommend the experience to anyone
It was awesome...but I forget everything! Hahaha...
It was done simply well. The actors took us through some tough times in our Canadian history. Very informative.
This was a cool experience. I definitely thought they would have some sort of "maple syrup" you could buy at the end. The person that played Gus did a fantastic job and made the tour what it was. Would be super cool if they partnered with a distillery for a special batch.
Amazing day? We did both tours and loved them so much!! The actors were on point!!
I called days in advance and was told that they have 4 shows every hour in the afternoon. That's plenty. Got there and was told that I had to wait 90 minutes because the 6 shows ahead were fully booked. Each show takes about 10-15 people. Yet, there were barely more than 10 people waiting in the lobby. And that was during a boring, gray Saturday winter weekend. The receptionist must have given me the wrong information or they decided to cancel shows.

The tour was very interesting and very interactive between the actors and tour guests.... definitely going to do it again next time I make my way back to the moose!
Your experience will depend on the actors you have do your tour. We did the Al Capone trip and our first actress was disinterested but our "Gus" actor was great! He really engaged the tour group and brought you into the story.
