This Is a great place to stop on your way into lake louise plenty of maps and great advice. Also if you work up in Lake louise you can get your resident passes here for as well. I got some great hiking advice when I arrived here and bear advice too since there are grizzlies in the area time to time.
On 7/2/2017, 3:30pm, I tried to park my car near lake Louis, several cars in front of me were able to be allowed to get access to the parking lot even if it looked crowded. However, the staff stopped me and didn't allow me to enter due to full lot. I didn't believe because there're some cars out of the lot at that time. I asked his permission that I'd like to drive around the lot and make sure it is indeed full. He stopped me and demanded me to make a U turn at narrow entrance, which is really hard and probably damages my car. After I left, I found out he allowed the car following me to enter the lot. Then I stopped my car and asked him why to do that, he just said the lot is full. I was so angry because he has race discrimination on me. Everyone spends dollar on visiting the park, which means we are equal to have the right to park our cars. Why only me not allowed to park? It's totally unfair!!! To wrap up, the lake is beautiful but parking system is toooo bad. I totally understand it's crowded during summer time but parking staff should be friendly and helpful.
I called into the impressive visitor centre yesterday to be met by a bored and uninterested member of staff. Asked about day hiking trails and was handed a leaflet , I asked if these could be started from the village centre and got a nod - no attempt to open up the map and discuss some of the trails . I then asked about bike trails - was told only available in French not English. Ok, but how about offering to point out some options. Handing visitors 2 maps and not offering to give advice / help to use them/ ask if there’s anything else they can help with is pretty poor and not exactly selling the beautiful area.
Beautiful place, but not worth the lineups and crowd. There are lots of lakes in the area as beautiful if not more than this.
A very soothing place to be. Clean water and fresh air. View is just too superb. Very calm and clean lake.
Parking lot pretty full but eaterys good
The visitor center is helpful but I did not spend much time there but...the lake sceneries are breathtaking and it is a piece of art that no one can denies. Love it!
We stopped at the visitor centre to purchase a park pass and to check if highways were open after the winter storm. The people working were very friendly and helpful.
I have to come back here. Absolutely stunning views.
Very nice visitor centre and lots of workers for quick moving lines. Although going on a Wednesday around noon was not busy at all.
Lake Louise is absolutely beautiful... But, I hate there parking system. They always charge for 12 hrs even we stayed for only few minutes. And, too crowd to take peaceful time.
Absolutely stunning! The picture below was taken April 23rd, 2017.
Stopped in to get some canoe/kayaking and camping info. They gave me all the info that I need for camping and kayaking along the bow. Super friendly and helpful folks.
Unfortunately the guy is not interested to give me a good information!! He was very nervous ???? I don’t know why!!
Excellent information and products to purchase about the national parks in the Rocky Mountains
Very servicial employees
Lovely lake and mountain view
If at all within driving distance I have to recommend going to lake Louise. It’s one of the most breathtaking views I have had the chance to see. Ideally go early on an off season because it gets busy. A great place to hike, picnic, sight see or even propose.
Really beautiful, thanks God
The visitor centre is good. Lake Louise itself on the other hand....way too much tourists. Been there, seen it and quickly moved on. Its beautiful, but overcrowded. We were there in May, not even the peak of the tourist season. The Rocky's have so much to offer, you can easily skip Lake Louise and visit other postcard places without missing it.
Nice place to stop for restrooms and supplies before heading up to Columbia Icefield. Nice deli with good selection of sandwiches and baked goods. IGA also a good place to stock up on snacks, water etc
Too many visitors during the week day and not enough parking stalls
Friendly and informative staff
A beautiful lake by the chateau
Great Place to visit year round. I love how clean everything is. I live in Calgary, but i still enjoy visiting lake Louise a few times a year. Personally i like winter the best, because you can walk across the lake when it freezes over. Its an interesting experience.
Wonderful lake The color makes it beautiful Kayak in the lake was a diff exp Even newbies can go for it
Drove 3 hours to tell us to go away. There’s a lot of parking at top of hill explained it to parking attendant I see like 8-10 free spots he told sorry keep going. What a joke this place is waste of time.
Great and fun place to visit. They are very knowledgeable about the area and willing to help. They will be undergoing renovations after the new year (Jan 2019) and will be in temporary trailers in the parking lot. You can buy Park Canada Passes here too.
Very organized parking attendants who help to direct you to the best bet for finding a spot. The views are amazing!
Excellent place to get relax and understand the nature.
This place it's very beautiful ????????????????
Small gift shop, small 3d relief map of Banff, and awesome staff!
Majestic and beautiful but very crowded
Free wifi, big space inside, Parks Canada merchandise store and clean washroom.
Good place to start, organize, and get to know this place better as the guides are very helpful with sharing live pictures of the lake and sharing easy to understand map of the area
Love the place
Stopped by to ask directions on our way to Lake louise. They also have a gift shop that sold lovely small souvenirs. The guy there was friendly but was a bit weird with directions
Responsible and fast
A great break from the cold ! Knowledgeable and friendly service. A great preview of what Lake Louise offers, and you are able to purchase your park pass here as well. Washrooms are available.
U should go. That's it
If you need to get to the bathroom quick this is perfect! Great info and picnic table by the river!!
Lake Louise is great place to visit in spring and fall. One should especially go through Lake Louise trail. Its just a small hike but its really fun.
Nice place. Staff were courteous.
Staff was friendly but when I asked for recommendations for a 2-3 night backpack trip I was told to come back when I knew what I wanted to reserve. What is a visitors center for if not to help guide the experience. I was a bit put off.
Beautiful lake, didn't spend much time in the visitor station. Incredible views, but the canoe rentals are too expensive in my opinion ($100/hr)
Heart breaking sigth seeing...Beautiful nature of Rocky Mountain....must see once in life...for sure you wont regret...good place for hiking and horse riding also..
From spring to Autumn, you can enjoy beautiful views. Winter season??? Humm..so cold..ㅜ.ㅜ
Possibly a must-stop for newcomers to the Lake Louise area. You can pick up maps and guides for free and also get some advise in either English or French on where to go and how to get there. The inside of the centre is like a little museum, there are exhibitions and things for the kids to look at while you're busy planning trips. Outside are the washrooms (including a wheelchair accessible one) and since it's inside the Samson Mall you might as well continue on to the other stores next door.
Majestic views! Clearly a winner in terms of pure natural beauty. A must visit if you are ever near banff, Alberta. You can easily spend a ton fo time staring at the serene winds blowing over lake louise! The color of the water is unreal. Especially, consider visiting during/ near the end of summer!
Very nice piece of property. I am sure its owned by British family
Beautiful place but do many tourist at once
Great place and helpful staff
If your ever in the part of Alberta this is definitely a place to visit. Great views and perfect place to hike. Lots of shops to explore and everyone is kind and always there to help and answer any questions you have. Just breathtaking! M8TRIX5 Rating scale Atmosphere/Ambiance???????????????????? Cleanliness???????????????????? Service???????????????????? Food (Did not try)
Amazing place, love the view
Gorgeous frozen Lake view. Big tourist attraction. Yes, I took these pictures! Looks like from art work.
Some very knowledgeable attendants on hiking trails. Lots of local informstion.
Avocado on Toast - was decent, quick serve! Hot chocolate could be better.
Didn't even know this place was here, tons of great information and learning experience for all ages.... And even better the washrooms here are Extremely Clean!
Extremely polite and very helpful, especially to us camping seniors ☺ !
Lake Louise is a must see. Incredible views...the visitor centre not much there....bring you own lunch!
Helpful friendly staff.
Nice staff very knowledgeable
Touristy, but a nice little area to visit & get info about the area.
Well, if you're reading this after you've arrived you're already too late in the day to park near the lake. But the people here are friendly and helpful and will find you a way to make it all happen.
An awe-inspiring natural feature! The lake is incredibly beautiful. With the snow mountain behind, the scenery is totally breathtaking! That can explain why it is prestigious in the world.
Staff was helpful
People at center gave us the right information and perfect free advice..
Beautiful scene - Reflection of Glacier
Very beautiful place to go
The weather was perfect and the scenery is totally stunning,we never get bored of visiting, always something new we discover
I wanted to get some information on good hikes around the area with no risk of avalanche. The lady at the visitor centre advised me to go to Mirror Lake. I double checked with the rentals shop at Lake Louise on the same day. Turned out avalanche risk was extremely high on that day... They should definitely inform themselves more!
Helpful staff.
Spectacular place too crowded
The lake is amazing, even when it’s still frozen.
Nice people and very helpful
Its a spacious visitor center maybe because of the high ceiling. And the washrooms are nice and clean. Isn't why we always stop at a visitor center?
Magnificent views. Love ???????? it.
I would give this place a negative 10. They put so much physical distancing barriers in front of the entrance that it made it very difficult for disabled people in the elderly to access the facility. Some of their barriers were also tripping hazards. When I talked to the staff they were very rude and this is very disappointing considering their park employees. I think some disability sensitivity training needs to be done. We disabled have accessibility rights and you could not put physical blockages in front of the doors. This is also a fire hazard. The bathroom had some fancy hand dryer extending off for the water tap and it was not clearly marked. How the heck is somebody who is visually impaired supposed to find this? I was unable to find it. Nice to see that the federal government it's not up to par on disability access rights. When I mention these things to the stop they were very rude to me and it is disgusting that they would argue back to a disabled person. Putting all these blockages in front of the doors causes more pain and suffering to disable Community as we are trying to get from point A to point B in the shortest distance and this is forcing us to endure hindrances that we do not need.
You can find lots of information here before you set out to the great outdoors.
Paying for parking lot is additional expense to see the view.
The water is crystal clear love the place,it's definitely worth visiting the parking space is limited, you shall give your more wait time.
Very nice staff. Very helpful
Very nice visitor centre, complete with washrooms and even a few shops and a liquor store!!!
Amazing place. We could not find a parking spot close to the lake. One of the most friendly women at the information centre recommended taking the trail to the lake. It was 2.8 km hike with a lot of amazing views. It took 45 min with a child. Hiking child carrier is a most. Enjoy your trip :)
Lake Louise is one of the most beautiful places on the planet
Helpful place and great attention. Important: in summer Lake Louise parking is full most of the time, but in the visitor center usually there is parking free for 2 hours so my advice is to park there and then take a shuttle to the Lake and then go back in the bus. Is easier. If you are planing canoeing in the lake then that option can be tight with time.
Really helpful staff with all the information
Excellent place to get info about Lake Louise.
Friendly knowledgable staff, clean place, beautiful washroom (ya I know that's a little weird) with taps/air dryers combo I've never seen before! Tip.. read instructions first! Lol
