The Lodge is old but in a very good location that is not too far away from the lake Louise. Check in process and experience is excellent. Only one bad experience was the Pillow smelling right after my husband lay down on the bed. He smells something and realizing the pillow is the problem. So we have to call them come and replace CLEAN pillows for us. The rest are clean and okay!

There was some garbage left on the patio of our room, it made me wonder how clean the room actually was. Also, the person checking us in seemed to indicate that we could not eat in the restaurant without a reservation but that was not the case.

Grand old log hotel, great location. Food, drinks and waiting staff good. BUT, desperately in need of a complete refurbishment AND very poor standards of cleanliness. Moved from our original room as it was so dusty, dirty and dilapidated, the second room in the 'modern' wing was little better - dust everywhere, floors not vacuumed, toilet seat broken and urine stained, drifts of fluff in the uncarpeted parts of the corridors. No management on site that we could find and had to complain the the groups corporate HQ by email.

My husband and I enjoy the ambience of this rustic old hotel. Situated next to the Chateau Lake Louise. Charming with great food. Perfect for a romantic-getaway.

Had a delicious dinner at Deer Lodge! Tyrone, our waiter was kind and friendly. Food wise: the ribeye beef was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection (medium rare). The burger was juicy and delicious (70% bison, 30% beef). Suggestion: to have 100% game meat (like a 100% bison burger)

Nostalgic 1920s Hotel with Authenticity preserved in the renovation. Museum style feel in some rooms. A must for History buffs. Outstanding Restaurant food and service. Very small rooms with nice beds, questionable heat source and hit and miss WiFi.
