June 2021 Just had two sections of our backyard fence replaced by Chris and his hardworking crew. What an accommodating and personable company they are. The men worked so hard and seem to love their job, The fences were done in record time and look perfect. We will definitely be hiring One Landscarpe to do other home improvements we would like done. Then his team really went to work and installed a new patio deck around our pool - looks fantastic! I recently sold my home and discovered that the deck did not conform to the township regulations and building code. I was in need of advice and a quote to remove the old deck and construct a new one with only a few days until closing. I contacted Chris McCarthy from One Landscape Design and Build and within a few minutes he was able to put my mind at ease. I explained my situation to him while he was on his way home from a trade show and he told me he has dealt with similar situations on a regular basis. He gave me some options that may help to get me out of my jam, and then he said he was willing to put together a quote for me that very same evening when he got home. (He included everything from removal of the old deck to permits etc.) I was impressed with his professionalism and knowledge. His willingness to get me the much needed quote the same day is almost unheard of these days. Turns out the purchaser agreed to an abatement and I did not require a new deck, however if I ever need any of the services One Landscape Design & Build provide they would be my only call. 5 stars! We had the old wooden spindles around our deck with a 6" top rail. We were always trying to look through, over or under. What a pain! We installed glass panels on 2 sides that looked out to the gardens & bird feeders. AMAZING difference! It's like looking at our back yard with nothing to block the view. This was a bit expensive but certainly worth the money. The job was done in a few hours & the boys even took away the old wooden rails. I highly recommend One Landscaping for your home improvement jobs!

Unbelievable quality and service! When we hired Chris and the gang we had no idea what was about to happen, and before we knew it (within hours) our home was a hive of activity! Prepping for stone walkways and gardens. Out with the old deck and in with the new. Privacy wall up...gorgeous! Wooden beam planters on a reshaped lawn with a full sodding...heaven! Stone flowerbeds... complete decadence! At times 15-20 workers would show up and do something like haul away the old deck and load in the new lumber and stone, and then half of them would be off to the next site while the remaining continued to work away on the reshaping of both front, side, and back yards. We even had them do some refinishing in our basement. The workmanship is impeccable, the staff an absolute delight, and Chris kept us informed through every step, and never batted an eye when we asked for a change or made an addition to the original plan. With custom cut stone gardens and walkways we never could have imaged that the entire exterior of our home would be reshaped and remodeled in a handful of days. We've never seen anything so efficient, and the results are not only top notch but show an elegance and craftsmanship achievable only through experienced hands. Outstanding work, gentlemen. We are absolutely thrilled!

I booked One Landscape to replace the front deck of our house. They built a solid deck in short order out of Douglas Fir and Thermory Pine and they were great to work with. We had to change our timeline and asked them if they could do it sooner than planned - they did what they could and ended up accommodating our schedule and moving quite fast. There were some small issues with the railing which I brought up some weeks later. They came by and fixed them with no hesitation. Jeremy and Josh built our deck and they were very pleasant and professional to work with. Chris (the owner) came personally at the end to talk to me and see how things went. Due to the short timeframe we had, we didn't have a chance to dive into small details - they made some decisions as they saw fit. If you want things done a specific way, and you can take the time, I imagine they can work with you on the small details as well. They tended to not give us a lot of notice before showing up - the first time, we got notice on the morning of. For the railing repairs, they came personally without letting us know ahead of time. It wasn't an issue for us, but if that is a problem for you I suggest just letting them know. I bet they are juggling the various jobs in the same area and making schedules work for people. I would hire them again to build another deck.

Our deck footings were poured in one day. The actual deck was built in a day and a half by 2 workers. Finished product looks excellent - no deficiencies or concerns. Everything was completed ahead of schedule and on budget. Owner and staff were available for questions when needed. If asked, I would certainly recommend this company. 12 x 12 deck with wood railings and black metal spindles, and staircase.

Last summer we hired One Landscape to transform our back yard into a cat paradise. We are animal lovers and had a vision to build a safe space in our back yard for our animals to enjoy the fresh air while we also made use of the space with our patio, fireplace, hot tub and hammock. Of all of the landscapers we spoke to while deciding how to proceed with this project, Chris and his crew were the only ones that expressed genuine interest and excitement in the project and how to bring our vision to a reality. Jeremy and Austin did an incredible job building our cat structure. We had many conversations in planning of how to build it, how to make it interesting for the cats, how to integrate it into the overall design of the back yard. Everyone who steps into our back yard comments on how beautiful, incredible and professional it looks. More importantly, the cats absolutely love the space! The project was not without its challenges. We ran into some issues with some obscure bylaws that we were not aware of at the time and we had to make adjustments after the fact, but Chris and his crew handled the changes with professionalism and made right any wrongs that were made in ignorance. I will say to anyone doing any work in their yards, do your research and actually read your zoning bylaws for your municipality to avoid any potential issues down the road. Chris schedules lots of jobs over the course of the summer and we had some issues getting started due to a bad season with lots of rain, so the project was quite delayed to get going. But once they started, they didn’t stop and it was completed very quickly. I was very impressed with the quality of the work and the price we paid was very reasonable and actually cheaper than some of the other quotes we received. I would definitely recommend Chris and One Landscape to anyone looking for something interesting and different for their back yards. They helped us bring our vision to a reality. Thanks, Chris!

He started work on Saturday May1 and finished May 4. We had stone work, a new lawn, completely renovated garden beds front and back, a new gate, new railings, a herb garden and deck repair work done. His crew was fabulous. They arrived at 8 and worked as late as 8:30 at night. They worked non stop except for lunch. They had fun and it was a pleasure to see them laughing as they worked. We hired on a guy just to do a pool lining and the pool was in bad shape so we needed to do landscaping and there was no way we were going to go with anyone else but Chris. Chris has done our place and I trust nobody else. After the other guy left my mom hanging for weeks we hired Chris to do the job and we have seen them work at our house but they dug up the concrete and installed the interlock in under two weeks and the job is impeccable. The whole time my mom was in awe watching them work. Great bunch of guys and how they work. The way Chris lines everyone up to do the job is amazing to watch he makes everything happen! I've only recently come to know Chris. Maybe three-four years. He was one of the few people to help me when I was getting started in my own business. Since then, he's worked on my place and my parents home. His team drove (basically) to Barrie and "got it done." Full disclosure: he took care of my curmudgeonly father ---a feat in itself. As for my mother... There's no pleasing her anyway. She could complain about oxygen. Fact is: He did great work. I appreciated it. My family appreciated it. WOW! I made a bad decision with a contractor on Kijiji. The job they left me was dangerous, unfinished and really poor workmanship. I was so upset and decided to look for someone online to quote on repairing the issue. I called One Landscaping in the morning and they had the repairs done and went beyond my expectations with putting down sod and fixing the job down the driveway I had done. This was done without increasing my cost. The crew was great and communicated with me and explained the work. It took 3 months for the other contractor to make a mess and I was amazed that within 3 hours, the crew had brought more brick, fixed the work that was there, added sod and left me in good place. Nov 2020: Just wanted to post an updated picture of our wonderful patio - just got an Arctic Spa Hot Tub installed. Awesome! Summer 2020: We met Chris at the 2020 Oshawa home show, and engaged him and his knowledgeable and friendly team just before the Corona virus shutdown, so we had to wait patiently. Chris stayed in touch and let us know when he could begin. We designed a large patio with pergola, fire table and enhanced gardens. The work took almost a month to complete, with most of the delays in waiting for the electric and gas subcontractors, but was completed within budget. The final result has been stunning - my wife and I love it, and our friends and neighbours who have visited (in a socially-distanced mode) have used words such as WOW! and FABULOUS! and AWESOME!. A project of this nature will often encounter problems -- ours were relatively minor and Chris dealt with them quickly and to our complete satisfaction. We would recommend him and his terrific crew! Chris and the team are very polite, on time and hard working guys. The end quality is fair. Chris seems to over promise and under deliver, maybe an assistant? Not sure... He does return if they make a mistake. First concrete walkway was terrible, uneven and higher than my door ledge. I called and Chris's guys were here the next morning, cut up all the concrete and re did it. The concrete dust unfortunately covered 3 atvs, new John deer tractor, new hot tub, and a brand new all cedar deck.. I know what your all thinking ok big deal.. Try washing that stuff off then come back with that comment. Anyhow overall, good guys, friendly crew, a little sloppy, on the expensive side but they are quick. So if your in a hurry and need it done quick then they are great. If you have the time to shop around, I would suggest that. Hope that helps anyone thinking of using OneLandscape.

Over several years, numerous attempts to control the weeds through applications of spray had consistently failed.
