Simply phenomenal! Great food and ale Ben better service by Matt! Mac and cheese was great great. French dip was classic, beers were tasty and scotch selection was surprisingly good! A MUST STOP!!

This restaurant has so much potential! Beautiful interior, clean and friendly staff. Unfortunately, again, I find the drawback is the food quality & service wait times. If you are someone like me and like a medium/rare to rare steak...you have to ask for it basically raw because they over cook it EVERY TIME (expect a medium/well done). Dish quality... id probably throw it into the realm of Boston Pizza category (that’s not saying much, no offence BP) except with a pricer bill at the end of the meal. Waitress dropped an unopened bottle of red on our table and we had to flag her down multiple times to beg for a cork screw. Another time my partner got a can of warm beer without a glass...definitely lacking finesse. Be warned, it takes forever for food to reach your table. We sat and watched our plates on the back kitchen counter waiting for the waitress to carry it to our table.. my partner finally got tired of staring at it and went and grabbed it (don’t worry I tipped him well at the end of the night;))... Final word.... I’d go here again for the atmosphere, with low expectations of a 5 star meal. Maybe next time I’ll be pleasantly surprised!!

Had another spectacular meal at the Flint. Staff was attentive. When told I have a shellfish allergy, server immediately offered a different side as their usuals would not be suitable for me. Greatly appreciated. Hope The Flint House and their guests enjoy indoor dining starting once again today.

Great rustic decor. Service was a bit slow but expected considering how busy they were. One of the gentlemen working apologized for the delay and bought us a round of drinks, good deal, and the drinks were fantastic. We each ordered the tenderloin, it was cooked perfectly and was very flavorful. Being in the industry myself I believe that they, overall, are an amazing restaurant.

Had the crispy chicken burger was pretty good. Was a little dark. Maybe flatten out the breast a little bit and you won't have to cook it as long. On the plus side I was dared to snort a huge line of pepper and got a free meal out of it. Pepper was top notch 10/10 Burgy? You don't even know me!

After reading reviews we had to check out the Flint House and we were pleasantly appeased. We had never been to Fort Frances before so we were going in blind. When we arrived the restaurant was packed and it seemed as though the serving staff were quite busy. That didn’t stop Jolene from delivering impeccable service. We wanted to try the Baco Noir but they were out of stock so we ended up with another red which was also good. For dinner we had the stuffed chicken breast. At the end of our meal we noticed we were the last ones in the restaurant and Jolene took the time to socialize with us and made a great connection. Keep up the great work!

Had a great time at the Flint House! The service was very good. The servers were friendly and efficient. The mushroom caps were awesome! My steak tacos were tasty. The wait for the arrival of the food was a bit long but worth it!

Upscale high quality food...a stand out restaurant for the area. Good vegetarian options as well. Of the 3 meals our table ordered, the comments were all that the food was good, but slightly bland. They don't appear to use any strong spices...but that is pretty typical for the region. The prices are higher than other restaurants, but reasonable for the quality of ingredients used. I would definitely go back.

Every time I ate here it was exceptional, the waitresses were kind but I'd like to see some French dishes, not sure what you guys are going for in cuisine. Overall, this place is awesome. By the way, I'm a chef as well.

Rustic reclaimed building and furnishings, local farms of origin listed on the menu, friendly service and delicious poutine! Remember, the menu prices are in Canadian dollars, so it was a nice surprise when my bill was less in USD.

Second time here while making a border run. Great food with a contemporary flair. Nice selection of classic and new cocktails. Neat venue and friendly service. You'd be hard pressed to find anything better in town.

Consistently excellent meals. Diverse menu with something for everyone. Amazing atmosphere. Wonderful staff. Definitely a ‘must do’ when in Fort Frances! (My favorites include the Cantilever Chicken and the Prime Rib) *also a local business that is very community minded and supports local events.

Flint House has a great atmosphere that really fits Northwestern Ontario. It's in a historic building to begin with and the way they renovated the interior is really cool, with reclaimed wood features from an old barn, blended nicely with really modern features you'd expect to see in a brand new restaurant and bar, which it is. The food was great. The Oreo Truffles are one of the best desserts I've ever had--you gotta try those. The drinks and service were great too. When you're in Fort Frances, check out Flint House. I think you'll like too.

As always ambience was perfect, server was extra ordinary and very attentive to every request, food was excellent and plentiful. Some of the menu items are a bit pricey, but its so good its worth it. The perfect choice for lunch or dinner, a great place for a special meal. Truly a little gem in the small town of Fort Frances.

The best place in town to go for eats. It's a little pricey but worth every penny. I loved the exposed brick work inside and what appeared to be old windows turned into tables.

Flint house is always a delight! I’m addicted to the 4-H burger (with fries and their fancy shmancy garlic aioli(?) sauce! I could eat that stuff by the spoonful) The staff is always friendly & professional, when we’re allowed to dine-in, the atmosphere is just right. Definitely recommend ????????

We ate lunch here today. There was a good crowd. Our waitress was prompt and friendly and our food was terrific! I had the tomato red pepper bisque soup and my husband had the sirloin steak sandwich that tasted like a NY strip. My only minor concern is when we paid with a credit card, the tip was calculated on post Sales Tax not pre Sales Tax dollars. Maybe reprogram the robot?

We did not get a chance to try the food. We attempted to try the flint house for dinner because we have heard the food and service was great. We were moved three times and one of the waitresses was a little rude to us. We saw another couple coming in right after us, and seated in one of the spots we were moved from. By the 3rd time being moved we felt so unwelcomed by the waitress that decided to leave. :(

Wow what a surprise in Fort Francis. The decor and atmosphere are so warm and comfortable while still being hip and trendy. The brick walls and Tin ceilings are striking. The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was really good. The bacon and chicken Alfredo penne was delicious and the tacos look amazing.

VERY SLOW SERVICE! Incessant loud headbanger music. A bar trying to be a restaurant but failing in both. Decent food but for the price not at all worth it. Our food came to us cold. We asked for the music to be turned down. They did a tiny bit. The music was still too loud even through my earplugs. The service took 3 times longer than necessary. Not worth it.

Very impressed. For a small town this was a very nice place. Small, maybe 10 tables, we made reservations when we arrived in town, about 2:30. Glad we did. 4 drinks, split a half salad, 2 burgers with fries, desert and tip, less than $90 US. Very good service, food came out at a nice pace, we didn't feel rushed. Very good food, again, my wife and I were very impressed. Highly recommend this establishment!

If you haven't been here since it opened you haven't missed much. Same exact menu for what is it? 4 years? Got take out for the first time since the shut down. It was a Thursday so it was speedy, but the quality was horrible. Pasta was tasteless, fries were undercooked. Sandwich was just okay. We got our usual orders and it was just not the same. The shut down might have been a perfect time to update things. Without the great ambiance of actually sitting in there restaurant, based on food alone, I'm at a 2 star right now. Come on guys, time to shake up the menu please. I am rooting for you because owners and staff are good people.

Ok, here we go! That Prime Rib Beef Dip is AMAZING, the Beef Brisket Sandwich never disappoints, and the fries are always nicely blanched. I was a little disappointed in the small portion of aroncini (5 risotto balls the size of timbits for $12- delicious though). Not only is the food always great, but you have to love the generosity and community involvement of the Cridlands. You make such a positive impact in our community.

We had a very disappointing experience dining at the Flint House. You advertise your establishment as cozy, casual dining & as being kid friendly. This was far from our experience. We visited your restaurant yesterday evening with a large party. The waitress who served our teens at their own table was less than friendly and treated them with an attitude the whole evening. In my opinion, they actually behaved well considering they waited for 1 1/2hours to get their dinners.( which arrived cold , for the most part) After we ate, we also waited for the bills for a very long time, ...by this time most of us were quite unhappy with our whole dining experience. A couple of us asked to speak to the manager, who unfortunately apparently was our pissed off waitress, so our concerns did not get through and were definitely not addressed appropriately. Once the bills did arrive,we were completely shocked to find out an automatic gratuity had been added.REALLY? A forced 18% tip for bad service...not my idea of a fine dining experience.I complained, only to be told "we are a fine dining restaurant, not Boston Pizza... " to be honest, I always have better service at Boston Pizza than we did at the Flint house! I understand waiting for food with a large party, but there is no excuse for poor service or attitude. Customer service is number one in the restaurant business, and this experience was by far one of the worst I've ever experienced. The manager did nothing about our complaints regarding the gratuity or poor service... even though I personally enjoyed my meal, the negative things we experienced outweighed anything positive. I will never return to the Flint House, & I can probably speak for everyone in our large group. Overall... I would not recommend it to others.When in Fort Frances, go to Boston Pizza!
