Professional and Detail-Oriented .... Jil has helped us with the layout of our living and dining room space even without us realizing we needed help. We had contacted her to help us choose some furniture items,lighting fixtures and wallpaper but she immediately noticed we needed help with the layout as well. She had to design the space around our existing furniture which is always a challenge and most interior designers aren't keen to do. Not only was all of this done virtually but from a completely different timezone and country. We live in Istanbul , so even if there was no Covid, we would had to do this remotely. I have found the ways of working very professional. All the design elements were clearly explained and/or discussed using an industry specific tool. I would highly recommend Jil, in fact I do to all my friends :). I look forward to working with her in future projects. I think our bathroom is next. Thank you Jil

I came to Jil Sonia after having tried to copy a show home for my new townhouse and then realizing that my paint colour was different and that the things I had purchased would no longer work. After speaking with many designers, I went with Jil because she immediately started offering me solutions to solve my problem. Her depth of knowledge in her field is apparent when you speak with her. I liked that she has a formal education in the design field and knows the science of interior design. She immediately went to work and undid my previous mistakes, talking to suppliers etc... and totally took control of the situation, which is exactly what I needed as someone with 2 littles toddlers. She is highly professional, extremely competent in her craft, highly punctual in getting back to you in a timely manner, and is always willing to answer your questions in a thoughtful, knowledgable, and personable manner. Very detail oriented and relishes getting the best results for you. I plan on doing the whole interior design/decorating thing down the line when the kids get older and we move into a house, and will definitely be getting Jil to do our house.

We have worked with Jil for the last few months while finalizing the details on a new build. She has been excellent to work with on this project. There are many details that need to be discussed on a new build. Jil has the experience that we required on this project and she was able to provide us two dimensional and three dimensional drawings for all of the rooms in our new home. These drawings show the placement of all of our furniture and by having this resource we were able to meet with our builder, with Jil present, and discuss the details of the build. We were able to actually move some walls and make changes to our plans that were critical for getting the end project that we envisioned. Jil always responds back to us in a timely manner and brings a lot of great ideas forward for us to review. She has been very flexible in her thinking and has guided us in a direction that has resulted in a project that has been both exciting and rewarding. We would recommend her decorating and planning service to anyone that is looking for a true professional in this field!

Jil has helped us with the layout of two challenging living room spaces, including incorporating some specific pieces we needed to work with (an 8ft non-sectional couch in a bold colour!). Due to Covid-19, all consultations and correspondence were done virtually, it was so nice to be able to continue our work despite a pandemic. I hired Jil on a crazy timeline to do a lighting plan for my 900 so ft apartment. I had been trying, for months, to find a lighting designer but either my job is too small or the semi-designers are...difficult. I sent her a short but detailed brief, a fully measured floorplan and 8 photos. I emailed her on Friday, paid her and sent the documents on Monday and had a plan with measurements and lighting specs on Tuesday! The plan was so much better than what I received from the first guy I worked with, and the processwas so much saner than trying to work with my second diva designer. Jil “got” what I wanted and delivered. NOTE: I hired Jil because her site has the best page about lighting technicalities - for clients - that I found while reading up online. And, of course, because of her reviews.
