We hired Tough Oaks to replace some old unsightly wooden stairs leading from our back door into our yard. We wanted something stone, solid, with a larger area for a chair, plants, etc. Ralph and Cynthia did not disappoint. They heard our ideas and came back with a plan that was far better than what we had tried to describe. Because our backyard was inaccessible without knocking down a garden fence (which we didn't want to do), they worked like Trojans, moving everything by hand. Ralph and Cynthia were friendly and always had time for our young grandchildren and their many questions as they watched the work. Best of all, they also stabilized our existing brick patio and tied the new stones into the patio with a single border. Their work totally exceeded our expectations and we would happily recommend them to you.

Our front landing was totally transformed from the original cracked concrete steps into a beautiful front porch, garden and walkway that neighbours stop to comment on. They spotted where things had not been done incorrectly by other contractors and managed to correct these mistakes saving me both money and headaches in the future. It was an absolute pleasure to have Ralph and Cynthia work on our backyard project. We had to take out a portion of our deck to waterproof the basement exterior walls. The waterproofing guys did a messy job left the concrete deck in a bad shape. Ralph came in, provided some great options on how this could be fixed and was just fantastic with his approach. They have impeccable work ethic and are very professional. They even entertained my occasional "not so expert" opinions and were super fun to work with. Ralph and Cynthia did an incredible job, transforming part of our backyard into a magical place. Our project was to create a good size fire pit area with a walkway to our garage. Ralph gave us various great ideas and suggestions on how to do it. The end result was much more than we ever had envisioned. We really appreciated Ralph’s attention to details, he never stopped until everything was perfect in his eyes, some things we may never had noticed until he pointed it out. A couple of items were not discussed in the initial estimate, and was done without any additional cost. Also both Ralph and Cynthia did not hesitate to answer any questions we had about other areas of our yard, and we really liked their suggestions.
