We were just able to eek our way out to the lake. Very narrow opening. Will there be a boating accident or maybe even a few colliding kayakers. Let's bet on the second scenerio, but let's not forget which type of boaters put $$$ into the local community. Kayakers don't as they don't even need to buy a pass to launch their vessels, let alone know the watercraft laws. Overall, my opinion is negative. Let's enjoy it before a few strong north winds. And, in the meantime, venture to a few local businesses to support the community while the kayakers are at Walmart.

It has a strong current which is a good upper body workout to paddle in a kayak or stand-up paddleboard. Wildlife will hide but is amazing to spot, beavers, muskrats, birds, and if you look down fish can be spotted. The water is cold and clear as it comes from Lake Huron.

Phil Polderdyke

A nice clean 1 mile plus trek to Lake Huron. Be aware that the current will be very strong at the mouth of the lake. There's a nice beach to the right that seems to be very quit.

vickie preston

Nice, clean beach and not very busy.

Finally able to get my boat through. It's a good test on your nerves.

Quiet, beautiful, and one favorite local spots for rock hounding! I had handfuls of keepers before we got to the waterfront. Tons of fossils, even a few smaller petoskeys on shore everytime we go.

Armani Paul

Just love all the waterways around Port Huron.

As of Summer 2021 the canal is dredged and you can easily get in and out. You have to be careful many years the canal is very dangerous to get out if not drenched.

Camboslice Purple

Absolutely beautiful canal right off lake huron. The water is a stunning blue and lots of rocks for a rock hunter.

Mike Beebe

Pretty strong current heading out to the lake, but so full of nature and beauty. And what a fun ride back, with that current!
