Great selection of beer and food is surprisingly good. Had a fried chicken burger which was better than some more celebrated fried chicken places. The seating outside is amazing, especially during the quite weekday evenings. Highly recommended for folks who want a nice place off from center of uptown Waterloo to enjoy an evening.

Good drinks and unique bar typology but for a higher cost. The European style of ordering drinks is interesting and deserves more recognition but the price of the bottled ale seemed a little too steep. Service was friendly and professional. As for the food, the duck season dish was delicious but only had a limited portion of meat mixed with some vegetables. Maybe my expectations were not in the right direction when I came.. But I would give it another chance if I had the opportunity.

Arabella Park is the bomb. Beer selection is always changing and well curated, and there are always 2 cider taps too choose from. The beer might be the main attraction, but the food is on the same level (mostly small plates and share items like fries, papadoms, popcorn, etc). Nice patio for the summer. Possible downsides: there is no table service, so you order at the bar (I think this speeds things up, actually) and it's a bit on the louder side, when crowded.

Awesome vibes and setup here! Can't quite think of any other places in the region quite like Arabella Park! The rotating beer taps were fantastic, and the apps we had were very unique for a bar type atmosphere (other than the fries I suppose!) and were also incredibly delicious - who knew bread and butter could be so great! Just wish it would be a bit bigger though!

A seemingly never-ending selection of local beers and friendly staff. The patio is really nice in the summer and the music is great! Also it just looks really cool. The food is creative and fun, but definitely not the place to go to for a full dinner. It's a beer bar, so the focus is beer. Have a meal before and snack on their little pates with some great beer :)

I'll admit, first time I went I didn't find anything great on the menu, but since it rotates so frequently the next 3 or so visits brought great options. Oh, and the beer options are easily the best in town. Even got my girlfriend into beer because of this place.

Best burger in town. Get a double since it's a fairly thin smash burger. Proper smash burger with Martin's potato bun. Fries are amazing with homemade ketchup and balsamic mayo. Chicken sandwich also good.

Wonderful summer patio, best beer selection in town. Food service is slow as molasses but it’s cool. No high chairs, but that’s also ok as it’s pretty generous space.

The soap in the bathrooms was a super strong smelling men's body wash, that scented my hands so strongly I couldn't drink my beer without getting slapped in the face by this weird, spicy, man smell. It was so strong it even affected my ability to taste and appreciate the flavours off my beer.

I love the contemporary aesthetic. Choose a long table for friends or smaller tables for couples. Order some food with your beverages. The fries were great. Loved the 2 ciders they offer. Shall return.

Food: The fried oster mushroom burger. you can thank me later. enough said. Drinks: Huge selection of beers, ciders, and wines on tap. I am overwhelmed by their selection but the hosts are pretty good at helping you find one you'll like. A word of warning to the nonbeer fans, most of the beers are quite strong or extra hoppy so if that isn't your thing be careful.

A relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere to experience new beers; particularly great one-off beers that you might not easily get elsewhere. Served by a friendly, knowledgeable staff and owner that are passionate and enthusiastic about craft beer. The food menu is also delicious (those fries!!!) and if you follow them on social media (Instagram, etc) you can find out about the regular "tap takeover" and special bottle pour events these host.

Truth be told, I am not the demographic that they are catering to, so I would suggest you check this place out regardless of this review. It has a good selection of beer and fits large groups well. It is a self service bar which I don’t have a problem with. I do have a problem with servers letting you sit there for half an hour without telling you that that is the way it works. There are not a lot of food options. I recommend their Chip Truck Fries with balsamic aioli. They were amazing. The seating is quite uncomfortable. In particular the fourth table in has a bench that needs to be fixed. There is a loose metal strip in the middle and it can really pinch you.

I come here all the time with my boyfriend and we both agree this place is a hidden gem. A cozy atmosphere with a wide variety of drinks and nibbles to choose from made for a wonderful birthday celebration with 25-30 people (early arrivers pictured) this past weekend. Thank you Natalie for going above and beyond to get my favourite drink on tap too!

I love the beer selection, and it's always changing, sometimes literally before your eyes! The atmosphere is very trendy - this place would fit right in downtown Toronto or San Francisco. There is no table service for beer - you have to order at the bar. Take the opportunity to chat with the super friendly and knowledgeable staff! You also order food at the bar, and they bring it to your table. You can ask to taste different beers. Ordering smaller glasses is another way to explore the selection without drinking too much. Opening a tab is really convenient if you are going to stay for a while.

First time here and it was great! Food was delicious and their patio was nice and spacious. You have to order inside and take your drinks to your table, but they bring your food outside for you. Cool place to hang out. We had the “garage d’or” cider and we liked the sour notes. Their chicken sandwich is AMAZING, and their fries ????, wow, they’re like belgian frites, super good! Picture is their “funnel cake” which unfortunately had no ice cream :( but the mango sauce on it was delicious!

Cool place. Nice selection of about 16 craft beers. Priced by either 10-12 oz glass but the most fun and value is getting 5 oz samplers. Good and interesting food but it's all more app type rather than actual full meals. Also note they don't have table service you order everything at the bar

A great Belmont Village option. Arabella's interesting list of craft beers is definitely worth checking out. Their limited menu, we tried the Nashville chicken sandwich and the Peach Caprese, is flavourful and unique.

Cool vibe but it has lost its charm a bit. Cool upstairs seating area. We got a flat beer when we came here and there was a bit of a confusion from when we received another one on the house when we were paying as the other server or bartender had left.

Honestly, the worst place we've gone to. We went here and spent $60 on two sub-par drinks, and two "entries" which were more like sliders. The food was disgusting. I ordered two spicy chicken tacos which had raw and rubbery tortillas, and the chicken was bland. My partner ordered a Nashville chicken sandwich that he found greasy and hard to eat. We shouldn't have had to gone to McDonald's for better tasting food afterwards. Very disappointing and disgusting.

Went to this place for the first outing during covid, post our vaccinations. Love the patio! So spacious and everything is clean and well maintained. I understand the need for the 2 hour limit but don't like it :p at least on weekdays they should allow people to chill a bit longer. Weekends I understand that the faster tables move the more business they get. A wide selection of really good beer. I had gin and tonic and they had Willabald gin which I've really come to like. The food is great but they did run out of the most popular items early on the evening both times we were there and that was a bit annoying.

I found myself in eternal bliss, like time stood on its head. I salivated as I ordered and waited for my first beer, every expectation was met or exceeded. The food here was well thought out, intentionally pairing their art with the beer they served. However, the greatest gift this establishment offered was not their beer but one of their servers, Crystal you were a poet with your beerology, my friend and I were smarter just by listening to you. Crystal, We will be taking your recommendations with us to London and Windsor and will be reminiscing on your genius when with crack open our first First Gear brew.

Had no idea how to place an order - another patron informed us. It seemed to have a food menu that was only there because they had to have one. Beer selection was fine, nothing spectacular. Uncomfortable seating for the price you pay and the overall atmosphere (felt like a warehouse setting with the warmth to match) made the experience poor overall.

Phenomenal food. Just amazing experience. Went for dinner during the week and it was decently busy however we got there pretty early. Food was a little on the higher side but well worth the effort and the flavour. Staff was super nice and very knowledge about the drinks. Super cool taps cycling process too. I’m not a beer drinker but this is definitely a must go for people who like the brews!!

First time here and a great patio. AMAZING fries, make sure to order them with your drinks! I wasn't a fan of the watermelon kamboucha though. We were also told we were well past our 2 hour time limit when we were actually coming up on an hour and a half. Not a huge deal but confusing as we were six people, and we also ordered a lot. It's nice to see different bars and restaurants popping up in Kitchener, Arabella Park being one of the latest. My favorite thing about this restaurant is the vast selection of craft beer on tap which seems to change daily. I've tried many beers here I've never had before and that's coming from someone who goes out on the daily. While I haven't had the food, I hear it's tapas style and delicious - although a bit pricey for some. The environment is definitely a little anti hipster, with blue and white walls and no wood or exposed brick in sight. Prepare to meet new people here as there is communal seating.

Beautiful big patio that was able to accommodate us quickly! We had an incident with the wind blowing our table around, and the staff that came to our rescue went far above and beyond to help us clean up the mess and make things right. The service was exceptional - shoutout to staff all throughout this business. Additionally, for being an establishment focused on alcohol, they have some great options for folks that don’t drink which is something that is very thoughtful and appreciated! Definitely check Arabella Park out for a lovely patio drink & snack!

The reason for the 4 stars is that, while the food was tasty (Nashville chicken burger), the selection is fairly limited. As long as you don't go here looking for a vast array of choices for food...this is a great place to grab a delicious brew and chat with a friend.

I've been here about 4 times in the last year, in the summer and winter. I absolutely love this spot, the atmosphere is laid back and easy going. The staff are always fantastic. There's new beers and ciders, also tons of wine if that's what your into. Not a ton of food selection but what they do have is absolutely unreal - such unique food ideas. Fun specials too (hot dog Mondays - hot dogs with a twist). Patio fills up quickly (not a ton of space but there is very large tables out there so that's nice). Definitely a great spot in Belmont Village, I would recommend trying it at least once - and you will definitely want to go back,

Sat on the patio today and unfortunately got swarmed by wasps. It was so bad we had to move inside. One wasp landed in my beer and i took it to the bar and asked if he could replace it. He gave me a new glass with just a small amount in it. Kinda disappointed that they just didn't give me a new full beer for our trouble. I would have done that for my customer. I dropped $100 on lunch and they could have made the effort. Had to wait a long time for one of the meals and fries order. Not sure if I will go back.

Not the cool, craft beer joint I was expecting. Visited on a Friday night around 10:30PM. The place was packed, blaring dance-ish music (but no dance floor and too loud for a conversation), bar service was just shy of awful, painfully slow and dismissive. About 90% ‘dudes’ of varying ages, most of whom should have been cut off several beers earlier. I had high hopes that this would be a great new place to visit when I come into town but I can’t imagine a reason to go back. Beer list is fairly well curated but they must have issues with their gas lines and distribution as each pint was fairly flat.

A beer nerd's dream, they had 18 beers and 2 ciders on rotating taps, and not a list tamed with the usual Ontario brews. We are talking Bellwoods, collabs, and interesting brews for a palate that is prepared for intense flavours. The food was a nice surprise - the menu is small but everything is artfully plated and tasted great. My wife had the Naan Burrito, and I had the Bacon Ramen. Though it is counter service, the bar staff was knowledgeable about the food, extremely friendly, and the kitchen was very fast to get the food out. Decor was minimalist and classy, and allowed for casual attire, a date, or group experience. I had a great time with my wife, and I want to bring my friends. It is a bit loud, so I wouldn't bring my kids. Overall, I had a great experience and can't wait to go back.

My family had a private event in the mezzanine space at Arabella Park and it was wonderful. Would highly recommend booking your small parties here! The specialized menu was incredible. The tres leche cake was delicious - my family is still talking about it! The staff is friendly and accommodating, and as a non-drinker the kombucha was great to drink as an alternative. I will definitely be returning to Arabella!

We went at the end of the day and two food dishes we ordered were missing something they were supposed to have. No guacamole or pepitas on the tacos, no broccoli in the fried mushrooms and broccoli. Not to mention the queso tasted like melted kraft singles and not in a good way. We also had to pre-pay and pre-tip so there was no opportunity to get our money back. We stumbled upon this place during a walk in Belmont village and decided to give it a try. The ambiance and the happy faces trapped inside lured us in. Visited when patios were opening up during the pandemic. This place has such a wide variety of beers to choose from! I asked for quite a few samples, before I was politely told that there is a limit on the number of samples. I went with the Bellwood’s and my wife had the Gargae D’or. The only little thing that felt out of place was beer in plastic glasses. I know it seems too picky and the restaurant was doing their best to avoid cross-contamination but I just don’t get the feel drinking beer out of a plastic cup. By the way the restaurant has done a fantastic job sanitizing and segregating waste, thereby eliminating so much spread. We also ordered French fries, which was a massive portion with ketchup and ranch on the side. The fries were piping hot and really good. I’ll definitely try other beers and food on my next visit. Definitely worth a recommendation.

I was really disappointed though to be charged for popcorn ($1) because you have to sell food. If I'm going to pay $45 for a 6 pack and support Arabella, make the popcorn 1 cent - I don't want it and nobody was upfront about it.

I just had what can only be described as a sloppy joe/mamwich burger for 14.69 plus 2 dollar tip with zero sides. The beef queso melt texture is like emptying out the contents of a beef n cheese burrito from taco bell onto a McDonald's plain white bun. That said...online ordering and pickup during covid is very slick if I was into beers on a patio in summer I'd go back but not for this sandwich. Nice decor though!

I get it’s a small business but how they treat their guests is rude and a “take it or leave it attitude.” Walked in today ready to spend money but was rudely turned away for take out- yet could have sat at a table and got food to go. I get a good chuckle from their innovative and quirky menu. Everything has been super tasty: the salads are remarkable! Sometimes lacking in vegetarian options and was told there's always bread and butter (haha).

Arabella is a beer bar/ restaurant located in the Belmont village of Kitchener. One of thd big apprals of Arabella, in my opinion, is their rotating selection of craft beers. You can go in a dozen times, and it can be a different selection of beers, from blonde ales to IPAs to stouts, with anything and everything in between for flavours, mixes, and batches. For those of you who orefer something else, thsy do offer several ciders and wines to go along with thsir beer selection. Along with a rotating beer menu, their menu alao changes. One time it could be East coast themed, another it could be food truck styled food, etc etc. Whatever the theme, it is top notch. The menu will only have maybe a dozen things, but what it does have, they do WELL. Atmosphere, it is often busy, as it is popular among the locals. The music is never too loud that you can not talk, and the staff are often happy to discuss beer preferences and help you choose something to your liking. They alao offer a bottle shop, where you cna purchase various craft beers to take home and enjoy at your leisure. After having been a few times, and trying a variety of things, I can say Arabella is one of my favourite spots in KW for craft beer and good food.

I know it’s covid era, but that short woman with the short hair that works there yelled at us and at other customers for standing in the wrong spot while ordering- i was trying to read their “no parking” sign in the floor which were wiped off to figure out what they wanted us to do. food was ok, pints were small, reservation special notes were ignored. This place is struggling since the last time we came. I hope they can turn it back around.

Amazing location for beer. I would say that is what is does best, and it lacks in other areas because it does beer so well. It is not comfortable, and the chairs are sparse with no table service. I've been to Arabella dozens of times since it opened and it's always a favorite destination. The draft lineup is always impressive - hard to find / brand new Ontario craft beer and cider options, specialty bottles, and tap takeover events are the norm. I'm a huge craft beer geek, and rarely is there a tap lineup that doesn't feature at least a few new brews for me to try. Staff are incredibly friendly and clearly enjoy their work. Food is excellent as well. A must visit for beer lovers.

It has a downtown Toronto type of feeling in the heart of beautiful Belmont Village in Kitchener. They have tons of different types of beers to try and they will give you recommendations on the different beers based on your preferences. The food is delicious, different and well presented. Service is incredible. Smiles all around and ready to answer any of your questions. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone who wants to try something different. This is not your run of the mill type beer joint.

Only down side is that it is a bit noisy due to the echoing space inside without any noise dampening. Not bad... But it gets quite loud in there and hard to hear each other without shouting.

Let's start with the fries! Holy Hannah are they ever amazing!! You must get them; the sauces are great and the fries are plentiful and amazing. I love Belmont village so the location is super cute, lots of seating, and free parking. 2hr max at tables right now (if there is a line). Everyone at my table was very happy with their meals, one comment was a little too much salt and I'd agree overall. I had the sweet/sour chicken sandwich and it was very yummy; chicken was breaded and cooked to perfection, loved the pickled stuff on it too (it wasn't hot though - temp). No sides, so keep that in mind, but prices were pretty fair. Great beer selection, of course (but VERY small glasses). You go up to the bar to order, small signs to direct you where to go in terms of in and out and the staff kept walking through the "out" door to the patio with food, so that's a disaster waiting to happen. I actually took away one star because I found the staff to be kinda rude... One (taller) guy who wasn't initially behind the bar but took over after, was very funny and friendly but the rest of them definitely need to work on their customer service skills. They said something abrasive to me almost every time I went to the bar, and I tried to be super friendly to them because that's just how I roll. Mind you, I missed the in/out signs the first time because they are pretty small so my bad for that, but they didn't have to be snarky when giving direction. Overall, nice time with gfs on the patio and I would go back!

Came here for drinks tonight with a friend! The service was quick and good with recommendations. I’m not a beer drinker but I really enjoyed their craft beers. It’s been on my bucket list to come here and I loved it, I will definitely be coming here more often! The music wasn’t too loud and it wasn’t too busy so it was good for conversations.

Wouldn’t recommend burgers as they come completely rare with bunch of fat. You have to talk to two different waitresses and trying to be convinced by both that it is the right way to cook a burger before being offered a solution. Wouldn’t recommend for food.

This is my favourite bar in Waterloo. Their beer selection is a fantastic showcase of Ontario craft beer. The taps rotate, but you can usually expect to have a similar assortment of beers that typically skews towards popular styles (as of this review, hazy IPAs, Imperial stouts and sours). They also have a cider or two for the non-beer folk. The food isn't too special, but the beer and the cool Scandinavian-like decor more than make up for it.

The place to go in Kitchener area for the best selection of craft beer around. All 18 taps are in constant rotation and new kegs are being tapped daily. Bottles of rare beers available as well. They offer weekly bottle pours. Food portions are small but well thought out and quite delicious. Its obvious chef Byron puts a lot of thought and love into each dish he creates.

Great hip spot, the beers were awesome and the bartenders were very knowledgable. All beer is ordered at the bar. It was perfect for the first date I went on with the cool food and drinks. We both got the green curry crispy chicken- tasty and unique. Covid barriers and social distancing was easy in the large bar/ patio. There was a wait outside (20-30 mins) so we sat inside above the bar which was a good idea

This is a five star establishment all the way. I've been here several times and always had a great experience. The beer selection is amazing and always different. The bartenders are friendly and very knowledgeable and the beer is poured in an expert fashion (most places have no clue on how to pour a perfect beer, this place knows). I don't know if its a "hip factor thing " or bottom line cost measures but your house made ketchup is something to be desired I guess but not by me. It tasted like dipping your fries in a base spaghetti sauce. Also thank you for the generous serving of fries but when asking for vinegar. . ..a miniscule amount at the bottom of a miniscule tupperware dish was very frustrating in trying to enjoy the fries.... My rec.....put a wooden basket or steel tub at each table holding condiments and napkins. Stock it with .. ketchup mustard vinegar Use leading brands. I will only return if with company that insists. Otherwise a cool place with good beer and menu. But......those condiments.....argh...... No mustard on a burger? Whats so square about that?

What kind of place doesn't do substitutions? Really how hard is it to remove blue cheese from a taco and add another type of cheese? Great first impression.

Dropped by to check it out, servers saw me enter but did not greet me or instructed me to take a seat. Noticed menus were placed on every table so I sat assuming a server might approach me. No one came for at least 15-20 minutes, the two people that was working behind the bar saw me sitting...waiting and didn't say anything or even informed me that I had to approach the bar in order to be served. FYI, a hello and a set of instructions could go a long way. They should consider hiring someone with basic customer service experience.
