Straight from when the lady opened the door, she was rude and wouldn't sell me my dog food without proof of a prescription which they got from my other vet. I had to call the other Vet after they had already spoken with them, to get them to ok it. They still held back and fought with me on it and closed the door in my face, because I asked them why this was such a problem. They don't even let u in because of the covid so you're doing all this outside, and behind a rope and a door that they will slam in your face if they feel the need to. Locked doors. This is exactly the reason why places like this should be closed....they don't help. They are unprofessional and should be lucky to get any business at all!

THIS PLACE IS A MONEY GRAB!!!! Brought my German Shepherd in. He had a rash on his groin. The one vet checked for mites and he told me it wasn't. Said it was from my dog itching and an a bacteria in the air got to it. They put him on antibiotics that didn't work. They also gave me a TREATMENT for worms, without knowing if he had worms, not even a prevention, like full on treat this dog for something he doesn't have. Also charged me for flea and tick pill. Went in to another vet and he told me that everything I did prior didn't make sense. And this is a different vet from the same clinic!! In the end, my dog still has a rash, which matches mites perfectly. It has gotten way out of hand and I could've had this dealt with months ago if you diagnosed my dog properly. Thanks for taking so much money from me and not helping my dog. You should be disappointed in your studies. You want to help animals but you care more about $$$

After seeing great reviews we decided to try bringing our pets here after moving to Hamilton. We loved it! Our cat has a mystery illness and the vet and vet tech we saw were absolutely wonderful. They were friendly, compassionate, and helpful. The front desk staff were also great! Plus their online store is super super handy. I feel confident saying that Blue Cross will become our regular vet.

I have been going to this clinic with my two dogs for 14 years. Throughout the dogs' lives, the clinic was amazing, from puppyhood, until we had to say goodbye to first one and then the other. This place has been around ever since I can remember, but the service is still as great as it always has been. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, and appears to really know their clients and patients (pets). The location is also very convenient for those traveling by car, bus or foot. Don't be fooled by the slightly tired exterior appearance, within those walls is a gem of an animal hospital.

Took my kitten in for the first time and the staff was super friendly and responded immediately. The vet spoke to me in detail about what he would be doing with my kitten and asked all the necessary questions, he also left me with lots of information to best take care of him. Even with the covid drop off system I was acknowledged through the windows by the vet and the other staff. They made my little guy and I very comfortable. Very satisfied! There is also a good amount of parking which was good to know!

Our visit ended up costing us more than they had quoted us at ... they kept adding things that our dog needed, which was a little bit of an annoyance but the quality of care and attention our (dog) Tucker got was worth the five stars. They asked a lot of questions and were very detailed with his care and treatment. Our dog is a rescue from an abusive person and they treated him so well, answered all my questions and were a joy to deal with. We have two other pets we will be bringing to BCAH just because of how caring they treated our dog. It's hard to find a veterinarian who doesn't see dollar signs when an animal walks in. I highly recommend them :)

On July 7/18 I had to make a call to Dr Choong at the clinic to see him with our Jack Russell Mercedes because she was not feeling or doing very well ... I’m glad that when I called Michelle was able to get us in there to see Dr Choong, because that day was a life changing moment for our family as we had to put our loving Mercedes to rest ... I had an appointment at 9:30 Nov 9th, the only one in the building with 4 staff. I made a very specific appointment as I have a rather busy day running an IT department. They had computer issues "updating their system" ... needless to say I asked after a 15 minutes (on the dot , not 5 and it felt like 15) and asked if they are prepared to meet their appointment schedule. Smarmy answer later about computer issues, well my cat is not a computer you can do the exam and then use pen and paper. I also found one staff member was trying to help and others were putting her down; I was deeply offended by the other staff members. The vet on staff was more concerned about her own dog than clients. Note: Customers (me) make every effort to respect your time as a business. You need to respect our time. Sending them an invoice for my manager time at commercial rates, 300 bucks and if not paid likely put it to collections. Same as if I missed the appointment and they billed me. Taking my business elsewhere , I have been a client for a few years with two cats but lately with the new vet the service levels have DECLINED. I do not recommend.

Hamish left us far too early and even in that Dr. Littlejohn and his staff went above and beyond. We've been bringing our dog to Dr. Little John for the last four years. He has always received prompt and thorough care and the vet always seems to try to understand our pets unique needs. Staff is friendly, and the location is handy though parking is limited to a few stalls. I've noticed other people mention that it can take over a week to get an appointment. It's been our experience that they can usually get us in over the next few days but pets needing emergency care should visit the Edmonton Veterinarians' Emergency Clinic. It's pricier but almost always available.

Hi, my name is Simon and I am a Cat. My Mom and Dad have given Dr Choong and staff the privilege of caring for me for all of my life (13 yrs so far). They have always been very gentle, professional and have only done/suggested things for me that have been necessary. I have some "attitude" issues and not very "cooperative" most of the time but Dr Choong has always somehow been able to complete my exams, give me my needles, take blood and perform other procedures thoroughly and without issues. I am happy that my Mom and Dad love me very much and would only take me to the best doctor in town. I highly recommend Blue Cross Animal Hospital.

Dr. Costello and the whole team at Blue Cross Animal Hospital genuinely care about the well-being of your animals and will do everything they can to ensure they are safe and healthy. They are professional, reliable and quick to answer any questions and support you and your animals. After taking a bad trip to an emergency vet where I was told my dog was okay. I took him back to Blue Cross Animal Hospital where they had to re-do any work from the emergency vet since they didn’t even provide a clear x-ray. They performed every test they needed to in order to ensure that my dog was being taken care of. The condition of my dog was extremely severe and if I had listened to the emergency vet and not taken my dog to see Dr. Costello, then he would likely not be here today. They were extremely compassionate and accommodating and helped me feel much more at ease as they worked to ensure that my dog was being treated well. They were very transparent the whole time and consistently talked me through each step and every option we had. After leaving the vet, with my dog well improved, they still continued to check in and check up on him until he was back to his normal self. I could go on for days about how incredible this clinic is. I’ve been bringing my cat and dog here for the last three years and have never once had a poor experience. They are always well taken care of. Their Preventive Pet Care Plan for my puppy was also exceptional and I recommend it to everyone. It helps make everything more affordable and in emergencies helps make everything easier. The staff here are intelligent and compassionate and my animals are always happy to visit. I will forever be grateful for the team here and how quickly and thoroughly they were able to support me during an emergency situation. Thank you Dr. Costello and the whole Blue Cross Animal Hospital team!

My girl Crema de Mantequilla got into a tussle with another dog, tried two emergency vets both were closed at the time but Hamilton reginal called Blue Cross for me and they by chance had an opening. They took Quilla in right away gave her nine stitches and trimmed her nails ???? It all took about and hour or so, Dr Luke was amazing the price was affordable (not cheap this is a licensed Vetranarian).I would strongly recommend this animal hospital from my experience with them. Keep up the great work.

Recently i had to go have a surgery done on my dog. he explained the prodecure in full and the risks and the other options that i had so i would understand everything before coming to a decision. They may be alittle expensive for low income people like myself butim telling ya. its worth every penny. They truley care about your animals. My dad who helped me transport him after the surgery . he was absoulutly shocked that my clinic actually cares. He thought i was being ripped off at first till he actually met dr littlejon and the staff and he was just so suprised with this clinic .. Theres litterly.one bad thing and that is that there hours suck... I wish they were open more.

We definitely recommend this clinic. They provide well organized very professional help. Super good management. Having many cats we use services of this clinic several times per month and every time we are very impressed how well everything is organized here. Starting from booking an appointment, they are always quick to answer the phone or email, so it is easy to book the available day and time. Also this clinic has 4 doctors so an appointment can be accommodated pretty soon. It is useful they send a reminder about upcoming appointment by email. Parking is easy and comfortable: every spot has a number and clinic phone is written in front of it to connect with them upon arrival. Doctors are very professional and offer the appropriate treatment caring about pet health in balance with time and money of the client. Doctors take time to talk about every patient and treatment plan in person which is amazing. Explanation is every time quick, professional and up to the point. Vet staff and administration are very polite, understanding and customer's oriented. Appointments are wisely booked so we never wait an extra time for an appointment. One of the best clinics in Kitchener-Waterloo area! Just wish they have an emergency services.

I can't say enough about this clinic. Our first experience was after a terrible accident with our cat, who had to have surgery out of town. We took her to Blue Cross for post-operative care, and the vet was incredibly sympathetic and we felt that she handled her as if it were her own cat. Since then, we have taken our other cats to Blue Cross for check-ups and treatments. We unfortunately lost one of our cats to old age earlier this year and had to put her down. We were heartbroken and the staff were more than accommodating and even sent us a sympathy card. We have been impressed time and again by this clinic and will continue to take our pets there and recommend it to family and friends.

I am new to Edmonton. When I first brought my tiny Shih Poo puppy to them he was very shy and scared. It was especially tough oh my puppy and me as COVID was in full swing and I had to wait outside while my puppy got his first exam. The Doctor told me to bring him around about once a week before his next visit or he could end up with a life long fear of vet clinics. I really appreciate how the staff would take time out at lunch to stop and socialise with my little puppy, and on the next visit for booster shots the Doctor commented that I had done a wonderful job socializing my puppy. The clinic now cares for my 2 ageing Ragdoll cats as well as my Shih Poo who is just turning 1 year old next week. Great practice I am glad I found a good vet in my new city.

This office has had charge of my 3 female dogs for 12, 7 and 4 years respectively. I have never had to worry about their care while with the vets here. Recently Dr. Choong saved the life of my 12 year old by performing emergency surgery, on his day off, which he came into the clinic to perform just for her. She ended up with 12 stitched and the scar is so faint you can barely see it. He did an amazing job and I will continue to recommend this loving vet and his clinic for all the years to come.

Avoid this Vet clinic like the plaque, very expensive, they pick your pockets from the second you enter until the moment you leave. Rude reception staff. The vets do not have a common sense approach to medicine and seem unable to diagnose simple animal issues with out suggesting expensive tests. While testing is important for some issues somethings are easily diagnosed ! I speak from experience having utilized the services of top flight equine vets in the past.

I took my cat here when he was sick. After letting go them know my budget the veterinarians did everything they could to help me as much as possible. They comped some nights he stayed and gave me some medicine when they could. I could tell everyone there cared very deeply for my boy. When we learned it was cancer I could tell they were upset and still tried to give me options. They helped me make a hard decision when it was time to let him go. The day we put Cookie down everyone was crying with me and offered me so much support. I later received a condolence card. Overall the staff here are kind souls who care so much for the animals they treat. I took my cat to this hospital to see his diarrhea. Spent $450+ and it ended up the cat was recovered from the medication I used for myself. There is no diagnose from this hospital. What I received are option 1, option 2, option 3, option 4... They didn't recommend which option is the most effective. What they wanted is you try and pay all options and other unnecessary check. During the check the vet found there was a swelling on my cat's back. And he asked about $800 to get rid of it. I went to another clinic for a second opinion, at there the vet suggested leave it until my cat feels very uncomfortable with it. It became smaller and smaller and gone now. I will never go to Blue Cross once again.
