Long review. About 1 year ago, I came home from work to find my golden retriever vomiting, nauseous, and lethargic. He couldn't keep anything down, not even water. He was vomiting every 20 minutes. I took him to the 24 hour vet clinic and discovered he needed surgery as he had a blockage in his intestines. The vet wanted to do surgery right away, but I could not afford the surgery all in one. She was very helpful and told me to call TMZ in the morning to see if they would do a payment plan. I did as she said and called right in the morning, as the vet from the 24 hour clinic sent over the x-rays. The lady I spoke to told me they would not even look at him unless I had the money up front. They wanted $2000 to start, when I was quoted $1300 at the place in Regina. She told me $2000 would be a start as they didn't know what they were getting into (even though they had all the x-rays, labs and test results from the previous night). I told her I could afford some upfront but not all at once. She explained to me that that was not an option. Once I told her I was going to call around, she told me she highly doubted anywhere would do payment plans, so I could either pay them or let him go. Once I was too shocked to answer, she proceeded to tell me to hurry up and call them back as they have other sick animals that need their attention and they can't put anything on hold for one dog (even though I never asked them to). Now, I do understand business, and I understand not being able to offer payment plans, but to tell me to either find the money or let him die, as no other vet will offer this service is absolutely beyond me. And then to proceed to get upset with me as I want to try to call different places (as I was grasping at straws at this point because I needed to find a way to save my dogs life) made me so angry I could barely speak to her. I called my sister who lives in Beinfait, and she called her vet and explained our situation. PAHC told me to get in my car and drive to Estevan as quickly and safely as possible. When I brought up the concern about money, they told me not to worry, they have payment plans they would get me for cleared on the way up, but the most important thing to them was Kane. I arrived, Kane went for surgery, everything went well, and because of them, he is still here with me today. I will continue to drive to 2 hours to see them for everything, including his shots. They made time for him, and they made sure we were well looked after. When I thought I had 0 options left, they came through for me and shed a tiny bit of brightness on one of the worst days of my life. I will forever be thankful to these people. Thanks to them Kane will be celebrating his 3rd birthday this June! Amazing, amazing place.

In my opinion without prejuidice the staff is rude. They dont answer questions. They get annoyed easily. Misdiagnosed my cat 4 times before I took him to weyburn. They misdiagnosed him 3 different times until I went back and told them I want xrays and everything possible because my cat wasnt getting better. Turns out he had cancer so for 4 months he suffered and was poked and fed pills that didnt help him. A week later he was put to sleep in estevan because he couldn't breathe. It was a horrible experience. Dr Carol put him down and she was compassionate for the one day. She also neutered my rabbit and he needed the reversal because he wasn't waking up. He was sick for a week. I took my kitten there for him being sick. Spent THOUSANDS of dollars and he still isnt any better with his colds. Every time I take a pet there, they dont do a full check. They barely touch the animal. I have to ask them to check their kidneys, etc. I dont agree with herbal medicine either and believe it's a waste of money and in my opinion dr carly there always pushes it down your throat. Then you need to go back 2 or 3 times for them to finally try an antibiotic which by that time your pet has suffered and its cost you 3x what it should have in the first place. In my opinion I haven't seen any love for animals here either. One vet seemed upset and shook her hands and jacket off after my cat shed on her. The herbal doctor in my opinion was rough with my cat. They dont seem knowledgable at all. I recently asked why my cat keeps scratching and they didnt offer skin sampling or anything. It's been 3 times I've been to the vet complaining about scratching and dr carol literally told me that she doesnt know. Then she went to check the file to see if he was treated with revolution and never came back in. I told her assistant I had more questions and her assistant told me she had left. I said she went home?and I could tell the assistant was lying to me. And she said yes she left. I know the vet didnt want to answer anymore of my questions. After I spend TONS of money at a clinic...I expect to be treated with respect and to get my money's worth. Their prices are ridiculous and they maybe give you 5 minutes of their time. I expect reassurance that my pet is okay and I expect answers no matter how annoying I may seem. That's why I take them to a vet is to get better and for them to help me give my furbaby the best care possible. I was leaving that day when I seen dr carol (who apparently had went home) and I had to ask the receptionist to ask her if my pet could still have his surgery. Dr carol again didnt give me the time of day. She muttered a few words as she walked past me, couldn't even give me the respect to stop and talk to me after I dropped $200 in the building. Earlier in the appointment I had asked her to pull up my cats xray and she said she couldnt view it as it was done in weyburn at the PAHC there. She didnt even make an effort to call or get it emailed over. It was a complete waste of my time and money. Do not go to this clinic. They dont value their customers. They get annoyed with questions. And they even told me I was paranoid. Of course I'm going to be paranoid after you misdiagnosed my cat and he died! I have never felt more dissatisfied and disrespected like I was at my past visit. Annoying questions or not....my pet deserves the best. This place is a business and with the money I've spent there and the way they are so annoyed with me really left a bad taste in my mouth. I have switched businesses and vets completely after this last visit and I suggest you all do the same. If you are reading these reviews because you are looking for the best possible care for your pet...in my opinion and experience PAHC is not it.

I would not recommend this place to anyone I know. Out of respect to the Vet we arrived 15 mins early, to have our yearling mini horse gelded. We were asked to fast him over night which we did. Once we arrived we were told to park out back by the grass (because thats were she assumed the proceedure would be performed (on the grass) and that it would be a few mins.So we did. We waited 45 mins, so I went back in to see how much longer (being that my husband had to get back to work). no one was in the reception area, so i took a walk around looking at supplies while I waited. It was than that one of the 2 girls visiting in the office noticed me and came out. I asked her about how much longer. At that time a vet tech came out of a room, and she asked her. The vet tech was very dismissive and said a few more minutes. so I said ok and went back outside to tell my husband.When I told my husband he said ok well we will wait another half an hour and if no one comes out we are leaving. so an hour and 10 mins after arriving the vet finally comes out to the truck. I was happy to see him and told him that we were just getting to leave. my relief that the vet was there and my horse was going to get gelded was quickly vanished, when he dismissively told me that he doesn't have time as the proceedure could take anywhere from an hr - 3 hours. I told him that wasn't an issue he than again said he doesn't have time , animals lives were on the line and dismissively started sauntering away. I than told him that is very unprofessional to walk away from us after we waited this long and I will definitely be leaving a review about our experience (which I couldn't on facebook as apprarantly they have thier reviews turned off......) he came rushing back and histerically started yelling at me saying lives are on the line I don't understand! I than told him, that I do love animals (so much so I spent $110 to save a baby gopher) and we would have understood if someone could have came and told us, rather than leaving us waiting in limbo. He than still histerically yelling said they were all busy. I said thats wierd because when I went in there half an hour ago, two girls were visiting in the office. He than told me they are not medical professionals , I told him they didn't have to be to relay a message.This clinic and it's vet had NO consideration for our time ( as it was a 45 min drive each way, plus an hour and 15 min wait) , our feelings (being left outside like idiots), nor our yearly mini (which is a huge part of our family. He didn't even acknowledge him nor look his way when he came out. let alone care about the stress of him being fasted over night, being away from the herd, being in a trailer for the first time, etc all for nothing) I didn't like the vets dismissive arrogant attitude, nor the fact that as a vet , a lover/ saviour of animals, he couldn't even be bothered to acknowledge my horse ( even just a pet on the head). We were just an annoyance to him apparently, including our horse.I just want to make it clear, we waited for an hour and 15 mins. I only checked in twice during that time.... when we arrived and after we waited 45 mins. I could understand if I was coming in every 15 mins asking how much longer, but I didn't. To be honest good customer service would have been for the staff to come out and update us on our wait time, not leave us in limbo like us and our horse didn't matter ( It was very clear in the end we didnt matter).He claims I don't understand.... well how can we understand when no one tells us anything??? Little did he know that if there was an emergency situation we would have understood, when it comes to lives and deaths of animals I do have an understanding. How could this horrible experience all been avoided?? By simply having some common courtesy, and decent customer service.They could have called us this morning before we left, when we were on our way to estevan, even told us when we got there, or after we waited half an hour ... sorry we had an emergency come in we can't do it today.

Sending your pet to New Zealand is the most complicated thing. It is a complicated process, a lot of effort to go through this. It is an expensive exercise that requires a lot of patience. I spent thousands of dollars, and months checking off lists. Without the Prairie Animal Health Centre, I would have missed some important steps and make everything more complicated. Staff at Prairie Animal Health Centre helped me organize everything easily. They always send me a new update regarding every single step. Their service is more than fantastic. I strongly recommend contacting Prairie Animal Health Centre if you want to send your pet anywhere in the world. Thank you so much Prairie Animal Health Centre for helping me reunite with my lovely German shepherd dog. And special thanks to Sarah, Keltie and Courtney for being such an amazing people. Also, big thanks to all vets who follow up with my dog.

You know the staff here is just amazing. I have taken several of my animals over the years and I truly appreciate the Love and care they give our babies. The process during covid was amazing. They make sure to call and let you know how things went and are going and are very understanding of our concerns. I know I should not single out competition but I had tried to go to stoughton once, and they told me that they are too busy I’ll have to phone back next week. I told them that my dog may be dead next week if I do that, and they told me they it wasn’t their problem. I was so insulted and hurt bc at the time my chihuahua was very sick. So I brought him to PAHC where they promptly helped me and my sweet Chico. After the surgery my poor Chico passed away anyhow. It was just too late. I will never ever forget the caring and compassion they gave me at a time that was overly difficult. Although my baby passed and we were sad, I paid the bill gladly because of all the care not only for Chico but for myself and my children. I believe you all are doing an excellent job and I appreciate you all so very much.

I made an appointment for my two cats to get a rabies shot and it costed over $450 due to extra shots the vet ended up givnge them. They weren't due for the extra shots nor did the vet ask if I wanted them. I wanted to pay for the appointment before hand but could become "they needed to add everything else" before I could pay. I guess that should have been my first warning that I would be paying for more then just an exam and a rabies shot. I wouldn't have minded the price if they had been clear with me that they wanted to give the shots and stated the price for each shot. I do feel like I was taken advantage of...

Every time I've been to this place, extremely great service. Although, the last time was a different story. It seemed like the vet was just trying to get me out as fast as possible. Really rushed, I understand it was a Friday. But, it was only 3 in the afternoon by the time I got out. Every other time has been great, most vets go above and beyond. Will not mention who I saw last. I know I have a small dog but, he is my world. Felt very disrespected and hope I or no one ever sees that vet again. Not to say they are a bad vet, terrible people skills. If they could fix that, maybe the person wouldn't be so bad. Finally, I'm not sure if she had some personal stuff she was going through. Everywhere I ever worked, supposed to leave problems at home and not bring them to work. For all I know a close relative could have passed away. Either way, I hope me or anyone else ever has to deal with that person. Please note, only one of them. Every other experience there was phenomenal!

OUTSTANDING care and service!!! When I first moved here I heard negative comments about the Estevan clinic, but if those were true I assure you that things have changed. I've been taking my pets there for almost 4 years now and the medical care and advice has been excellent. I can't say enough great things about the staff - kind, efficient, compassionate, patient, helpful, and just AWESOME! My pets are my world and I am very overprotective but I fully trust that they receive the best possible care at PAHC.

I recommend them over and over again !! I Absolutely LOVE Prairie Animal Health Center they go above and beyond to make sure My babies feel comfortable (my 3 dogs) along with myself ! As soon as you walk in the door the amazing friendly receptionist greets you and makes you feel at home! They always provide the best care possible they explain everything in full so you are never left wondering what they are giving your animals! They make the already scary experience for our animals a pleasantly quick and painless time so they leave alot more relaxed and happy ! The prices are very reasonable I've never ever had a complaint ever with the prices ! Also they only give what the animal needs they don't just over prescribe . They are the only vets I trust my Babies with. They have a good variety of Healthy dog foods and treats along with a bunch of toys if you like spoiling your dogs after the appointment like I do !
