Thank you so much for all of your understanding, for listening to my concerns and questions, for comforting me when I was anxious, and for taking such amazing care of my girl! She never came home frightened from being at the vet, only anxious to be home to use her own litter box! You've also had great follow up with me, accommodated a last minute check up, and have emailed back and forth with me. I highly recommend these folks to anyone looking for a vet! Their prices are very reasonable in my opinion, and the value is well worth it!

Second time I've called with an emergency during business hours, to only be turned away/directed to Langley Animal hospital. If I spend thousands of dollars with your business and the moment I need you to see my pet during an emergency, you turn me away? Sure I''ll get a response saying you were booked and unable to give my pet the care it may have needed. But to put me on hold and go speak to a Doctor, come back and ask If i'm a client already, the dogs name and info and symptoms, then put me on hold and come back and say sorry we cant see him?. My dog was unable to walk for a few minutes, he went back to being normal after 10 minutes, it would have taken a short checkup to ensure he was ok. You'll never see another dollar again and I'll be sure to let every other pet owner know that you're only good for $130 checkups and shots which are easy money. When its a real emergency, you'd rather just pass people off to Langley.

Of all the veterinarians we have had through the years these folks are tops: friendly professional and wonderful with our dog. Procedures are explained well. They even have separate dog and cat's waiting rooms although I understand they treat all sorts of animals and birds. Their hours of "operation" are extensive. They are there for you.

I cannot say enough positive things about this vet. I’ve been coming here for years with my bearded dragon. We mostly saw Dr. Geen before he left, but are now happy to be seeing Dr. Borgmann for the wonderful care of our bearded dragon. The quality of care I receive over the years has been thorough and outstanding. I have honestly been shocked at how much they genuinely love what they do and care for the pets. That might sound like an obvious thing, but coming from a background in the animal industry, it’s not a given, trust me. Today we brought our beardie in for a checkup because she seemed a bit off. After reading through a long, rambly and stressed email, Dr. Borgmann proceeded to take the time to thoroughly go over every possible detail that may have been important, truly listened and cares when you speak, and then made an effort to reassure me and clearly care that I left feeling happy myself. This office not only loves and cares for your pets, but they care for you. I have never received bad service here and I will continue to bring all my future pets here. Thanks for making us feel like our animals are looked after with the most amazing care.

I've been a client of this vet clinic for about 11 years, ever since Dr. Borgmann opened her other clinic in Abbotsford, and now Coastal Rivers. All my experiences with clinic staff and doctors have been outstanding and wonderful. The staff are efficient, kind, and very gentle with my companion animals, from the scared cats to the nervous dogs. I would not consider another practice, my feelings run deep for these people. In particular, one of my cats was very ill and needed to be put to sleep, and Dr. Borgmann was so kind to him, and to me, that I will never forget. I now take two dogs and two cats to this clinic, and will take our latest rescue there tomorrow. I know the care will be excellent. I cannot recommend them more highly. They are simply wonderful!

I just love this clinic. It's so obvious that every single staff member loves animals and really cares about my pets. They also make sure to do follow-up phone calls after every appointment. They take time to ask how the dogs are, and are willing to answer any questions I have. My two dogs just love coming here. The vet also recommended a local dog trainer who was fantastic. Can't recommend them enough.

We adopted a shelter cat and brought her in for a quick checkup and she seemed fine. A few days later she started drooling, got lethargic and stopped eating almost entirely. We brought her in again, they waved all examination fees. We had to come back a number of times as our cat slowly improved. Every time we went the staff genuinely cared about our pets well being as well as our own. Our vet, Dr. Lawrence, was clear about what his thought process was for treatment and lead us through exactly what that would be. Our new cat has improved substantially in health and we'll be using them for our vet services for sure.

Recently my dog went in for surgery and I was terrified. Dr. Eric. Lawrence was the veterinarian that did the surgery. I have a very small light weight petite dog and I have been to several places to get quotes on teeth removal. After, a lot of thought I decided it was the best decision for my pet. I only felt confident with this Dr. Though, He kept it real with me and was understanding to my dogs needs. I am extremely impressed with the whole procedure and outcome. My little dog seems like a whole new dog since the surgery. He is a very good Veterinarian and he will now be my dogs doctor. If I could give more then five stars I would! Thanks Dr. Lawrence!

Not sure yet will most likely be making sec visit, see how it goes so for now low score, I don't know if it's because have a red tail boa rather than cat or dog but apt was at 230,but more like 3 then after exam took my snake in back an to 45min plus to get antibiotic an one shot, I was getting very worked up over this all said an done got outta there like, 5pm, aside from that very nice place an really only place recommended for exotics, to me like doc or dentist do not feel comfortable an want out as fast as possible

We moved to Abbotsford from Langley and were in need of a vet closer to home. Lucky for us, this phenomenal pet hospital is just down the street from us. The people here are LOVELY! They really go the extra mile and I'm especially fond of the separate cat/dog waiting rooms. Our cat, Polo, is a shy little thing and gets scared easily but everyone there is so calming and approachable, that there was no added stress on the poor guy. And finally, I'm also a fan of their hours. We've had two late night appointments and you'd think the vets might be tired and ready to make a break for the door, but they were so patient and not in a rush at all.

We took one of our snakes here near the beginning of covid for a simple respiratory infection. We had recently moved to the area and were looking for a new exotic vet. The veterinarian at costal rivers told us that he had nidovirus, would not survive, and had to be put down as soon as possible. Having owned and cared for snakes for over 13 years I knew this did not sound right and we took him to another exotic vet right away. One week long course of antibiotics to treat the respiratory infection and he was totally fine. Over a year later and he is completely fine. Not sure what type of vet confuses an extremely common RI for some type of obscure reptile virus but if you are seeking treatment for your snake or another type of reptile I would recommend looking elsewhere.

So we had an emergency with our pet albino corn snake Bublésaur (Bubbles). My cat managed to knock the lid off her tank and she got out and they fought. Coastal rivers pet hospital was able to get her in, within a day and they did surgery and were helpful! They also sent a video of how to administer her IV pain meds/antibiotics. I will definitely go back! Thank you for taking care of Bublésaur.

The staff here are amazing! My cats love the vets and veterinary assistants. The cats private lounge waiting area is wonderful so we don't have to wait with other animals that may scare them more than already would be being out of the comfort of home.6 The cat lounge always has treats for the cats and us humans, as well as little baby burp blankies that are treated with something that helps calm the cats if they're feeling anxious. Every kitty corner examining room is equipped with a scratching post/tree, and a cat bed to help them be more comfortable and relaxed during their visit. Also, when my prev cat, before my current ones, had to be put down due to age related health issues, the doctor was so patient and understanding of our grief. He gave us all the time we needed with her, and had us in a room that made her feel at home in her last minutes with us. We were offered an urn and to have her footprints stamped on papers for us to remember her by....this was all included in the fees to have her put down. They later sent us a condolences card in the mail, and called to let us know when to come pick up the urn. I will never forget the kindness shown during this time. ❤

I have been taking my cats to Dr. Borgmann for years now. She recognized what my former vet didn't: My geriatric cat needed to have most of her teeth removed immediately b/c she was in excruciating pain all the time. Dr. B re-jigged her surgical schedule for the next day to accommodate my Sweetie. When we ended up getting adopted by a little black orphaned kitten 5 years ago, I wouldn't think of taking that kitten anywhere else. She treated his case of ringworm with her special "spa treatments", and little Peter is very health and feisty today b/c of Dr. B. When it comes to humanely saying good-bye, Dr. B is also extremely compassionate and caring. And when she was not available, Dr. Lawrence did kind and gentle job letting our Sweetie cross the Rainbow Bridge. I am very thankful for all the care my pets have received, and continue to receive through Coastal Rivers. Yes, they cost more than a budget vet. However, the services available, and the skill and training of the staff, are second to none in this part of the Valley. For my furry family members, I wouldn't trust anyone else with their care.

I went here because of all the great reviews and it was closer to where I've just moved, than the vet I've been using for the last 10 years. The initial appointment was great, the ladies at the desk were lovely, the vet was kind with my elderly cat and the cost was average for the visit. The recommended senior blood and urine were done quickly, and we went home pretty happy with the experience. They said they'd call in the morning with the results. But I heard nothing until the second day, which was fine. I understand things sometimes get delayed. I missed the call, but called back; I was told they would call later when the vet was free. It's been four days now, I've called every day and everytime, I've been told I'm on the callback list. Today they called back around dinner time, to tell me that the vet in the office, would have to review the whole file and the test results, before taking to me...... Why is that a problem? She has no history with this office or the vet that examined her. The second option I was given was to wait until tomorrow morning, when the vet who examined her will be working, which will be 5 days waiting. I can only hope, the test results are all normal, and my cat doesn't need medications or follow up treatments, that have been needlessly postponed due to, what? Poor time management? Poor communication between staff? Lack of professionalism and care?

The best animal hospital for your pets in Abbotsford. Friendly staff. Very clean. Beautiful building. They have a separate waiting area for cats and small animals so they aren't stressed by dogs. I think that they considered that as a factor when creating their building says a lot about how they feel about animals. I've only had positive experiences in this building. If you talk to people out and about or at the dog park, you hear great things about them. I take my dog for physio with Susan. She's very kind, patient and you can tell she loves her job and animals.

Our cat had an injury to his tail, Requiring a partial amputation. I called Coastal Rivers Pet Hospital to inquire as to the price of amputation. I was told $300 but since the cat was a new patient he would require an initial consultation costing $74.50 plus tax. That sounded Very Reasonable. Made and went to the appointment for initial consultation. The doctor ( Dr. Greenberg) gave the cat a Quick check up and excused himself to work on a quote for the amputation. Upon returning he revealed the Quote... $1000!!! I told him that I was told $300+ $74.50 for initial consultation! He said the Amputation cost is $300 But Anesthesia, Iv, and All other costs are Extra! Totalling $1054.51! I was Made to pay the Initial Consultation Fee of $74.50 and left Bewildered... The next Vet I called was Glen Mountain Animal Hospital, I was Quoted $450+ gst. (Less than 1/2 Price!) Made the Appointment at that time. Successful surgery was performed and the Billing Was Exactly as Quoted. Thank You Dr.B at Glen Mountain Animal Hospital!! Thanks For Nothing Coastal Rivers Pet Hospital!! I want My $74.50 Back Please... Rip Off Artists!! Worst Vet Visit Ever!!!

We had a terrible experience here. Our beloved dog suddenly died and we brought him to Coastal. The vet on duty at the time tried to revive him, with no luck. We were in shock as he was a healthy dog. The lack of empathy was unbelievable and he was in a rush and did not take time to answer our questions. It made a terrible situation and loss, so much worse. I would not recommend this clinic.

One day I'll sit down and write a longer review that details our unique experience but, for now, just want to say that I feel that we've been very fortunate to have our cat cared for by Dr. Lawrence and his team. The facility is state of the art and welcoming with separate waiting areas for dogs and cats, which is helpful for my scaredy-cat. The staff are very gentle and friendly with our cat and dog. Plenty of treats in the waiting areas and exam rooms to distract :) We recently had to euthanize our beloved dog due to old age and loss of faculties. We were treated with so much care and attention by all staff. Their ability to get us through the ordeal without contributing any additional stress was remarkable. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Borgmann and staff. These are people that understand both pet and pet parent needs. Highly recommend.

BEST place you can take your pet. Staff is so friendly, always willing to help and very knowledgeable. We had to get our cat in same day we called and we were there 4 hours later and it was Thanksgiving on top of that. They are open 365 days a year! Great service! They have several veterinarians on staff and we have had the best experience with the women so far. I also do highly recommend Dr. Smetschka if you're not sure who you'd like but really they're all very good. Dr. Borgmann as well is fantastic, you can tell she listens and wants the best for your pet. Everyone is very kind and full of empathy. On top of that their website has a detailed description of each vets and their background to help you understand more about them and what they may specialize in/focus on. A small description as you walk in would be a little cat corner on the left hand side with comfortable seating and a glass sliding door that you can close to further relax your cat from any stress. On the right hand side is something similar for dogs, just slightly larger and more open. They do as well have complimentary coffee/tea and cookies as well as treats for your pet/s. We buy our dry and wet food here for our cats as well, they have a large selection for both cats and dogs.

A few weeks ago our family’s 5 year old dog was hit by a vehicle and badly injured. My mini-golden doodle Lucy had a baby tooth that was not coming out on it's on and was inhibiting the growth of the adult teeth around it (you can see the good side of her mouth and the side with the crooked baby tooth in the photos below) I was given a quote between $800-$1200 depending on the level of difficulty to remove the tooth, etc. The final bill was $860 and when I arrived to pick her up Dr. Lawrence was so great, super passionate about what he does, explained that it went very well and Lucy was back to herself the very next day! My wife had warmed me "Maria, I took a Budgie to the vet 20 years ago and was charged $500 for 2 stitches while the vet held out the bird and said 'Do you want this bird to live?' so I was impressed with the integrity of the billing and how Lucy was treated! So far this place has been good ive brought over my youngest puppy here for his first shots and its been fine. Only down side is that i cant be with my dog inside. I understand why with the covid, but my dogs just get very wary and nervous cause of their type of breed. I wish they could make exceptions for certain people only because my dogs are huge and even though i know my dogs are friendly and has been trained, they are still dogs and when in an environment that they are not familiar and especially when they are also being touched and poked, you dont know what they might do. I know you can put a muzzle on but one of my dog is over140pounds, taller than iam and he has fought and chased a cougar and broken down a fence with his power. Im still debating whether i should try bringing him in here or not cause i would like to have one vet for all my dogs.

The exam room has a cat scratching post, a heating pad in the table, and a calming scent to keep the cat calm. You can pay in the exam room which I find convenient since other places make you wait for an available receptionist to pay. I think the prices are decent though I'm not a very good judge of that. They take lizards which is good because many vets won't see lizards.

I was looking for a hospital to perform a PennHIP test to my dog. Although Coastal Rivers Pet Hospital was much further away from where I live than other qualified hospitals, I decided to do it with them. The main factor influencing my decision was Susan Taylor, RVT CCRP. All my communication went mainly through her. We exchanged probably 20 emails. I asked a lot of questions that required lengthy and complicated responses, and actions that involved third parties. Her responses have always been timely, up to the point and very professional. The procedure went smoothly and without delays. My dog went in willingly and came out with a wagging tail despite the fact that she had to be sedated. Everybody dealing with us was very professional and accommodating. Following this positive experience, I chose to visit the hospital again despite the distance, for some further health checks to my dog. Again, we were treated with the same professionalism regarding all aspects of the visit, from arranging it to the follow up communication. I highly recommend this hospital to prospective customers. I would not take your pets Dr. Borgamm, especially small ones. She has an attitude problem for one. Very unfriendly from the minute I said hi. First time meeting her and she seemed to be angry. She's also very rough with small animals. When checking my pets stomach she squeezed so hard he was desperately kicking and trying to get away. This clinic keeps on a vet , Ben Greenberg, who has been disciplined by the BC Veterinary Association for prescribing veterinary drugs to humans. You can look up the facts on the CVBC website. This vet also turned away our pet in a life threatening emergency because he didn't feel like fitting her in, and violated the Veterinary Association's regulation that he must at least arrange for an alternate vet to attend the suffering animal. He wouldn't even come out of his office or get an assistant to call another clinic while our little baby was dying. I'm not surprised at the review from about a month ago (scroll down) that said they received no empathy when they rushed in with their dying dog. We were so shocked and disgusted. I have never, ever been treated as callously as at this clinic, in any circumstance. Honest to God, I had an urgent matter with my dog in the middle of nowhere, Saskatchewan, and a cow vet treated her in the basement of his home. But good old Coastal Rivers wouldn't even take a look in an emergency. We wish we hadn't come back here after another vet at this clinic, once talked us into a costly follow up. It turned out my pet's condition needed no follow up and no treatment. Unbelievably, they had made a big mistake in his written records, but we had to pay for the unnecessary follow up anyway. We got a phony smile from Dr. Borgmann, with, "Better safe than sorry." They are very sales-y and full of New Age type supposedly "latest information" about animal care, but lack basic decency and integrity.

The receptionist originally set an appointment for later in the day, but called back within 30 minutes to tell me we could come any time. I had no conclusive proof to what the vet had told me. I believed in the vet and allowed my baby to be put to sleep. I took my other kitty there in january. Was told she was allergic to her cat food was why she was coughing up hairballs. After costly switching of various brands of cat food i find she was getting worse. I return 6.5 months later. Now this vet tells me its fleas and sells me with the assurance i could return the said product if i decided not to use it. I wanted to do some research on this particular product before using. I had a severe event with the kitty that had to he put to sleep so i was rather apprehensive in using a similar type product. I researched this product and i found that 12 reviews were given on this product. End result was terminal for all 12 felines in the review. I decided that i did not want to use this product. I go to coastal rivers and ask to return the product and a bag of cat food that i hadnt used and wasnt needed since the cats issue wasnt cat food but fleas. Well i was treated with complete condecension and why do i believe what i read on the internet and they refused to return the medication that had not been opened. Was in sealed pkging in a box .She said because i probably tampered with the said product and i could leave it there for them to dispose of. But under no circumstance was i getting the over 100 dollars i spent. I always pay cash wen i go there and if i wanted to return the cat food i needed to put it on a crédit card. At every turn this 20 something person was rude and nasty. I love my animals and would do anything for them. But i will not be forced to apply industrial strength pesticides on my cats to appease anyone. I am extremely upset at the treatment and horrible reception I recieved at this clinic. I am of course waiting to hear from a manager which i requested upon departure. If I am treated horribly by staff how are my defenseless animals treated when im not present????? Yes Coastal Rivers pet hospital i have been waiting for two days for a return phone call. Why would the vet assure i could return product if indeed the government has régulation against it? Not only that the packaging is such you would need to tear open packaging to tamper with the product which i did not do. I have been to other animal hospitals and have returned unopened products. The policy i have been explained by another animal hospital is i needed to return it within 10 days untampered with. And i clearly did not tamper with it. I find it interesting that you can reply on public forum but not threw téléphone call as i requested. Sure doesnt look good no matter how you look at it. Was a very costly experience and am completely unsatified. So i will continue making calls until i get some satisfaction. Is truly sad this is how some places make there money!!!

Coastal was recommended to me by a friend after moving to Abbotsford. I only took my pup there once for a pre-spay assessment. When my pup needed emergency assistance several weeks later for swallowing a cat toy, a procedure which took all of 30 minutes to get her to throw it up, they could not help me out. This meant I had to scramble to find another vet, and also had to pay an initial visit fee at this other clinic. Thankfully I was extremely happy with the personalized, flexible and caring service at this other clinic. This other clinic only has ONE vet, not a team of vets, but who was willing to stay a little bit overtime to help my pup and another emergency case out. I then booked my spay surgery at this new clinic and paid almost half of what Coastal was going to charge me for the exact same procedure. Bottom line, in my experience, Coastal seems to offer expensive, impersonal service and I would not recommend them to others.

Recently we had an emergency appointment with our 10 year old GSD. The staff were immediately attentive, professional and compassionate and made space for us. Unfortunately it transpired that our girl had to be put to sleep. The attending Vet was equally compassionate. If we ever decide to get another dog I will definitely use this hospital as my go to Vet.

I have been going to Elizabeth Borgmann for many years with our dogs. I highly recommend this special Vet Hospital. I also recommend Dr Eric Lawrence as he, a few months ago, had to do eye surgery on our rescue dog who had a problem with her eye and it had to be removed. He did a great job and saved me money by not having to get it done at the Specialist in New West. Love this new location and the wonderful hours. I am sorry to edit my review but feel I must. I went in because I was worried about how much weight my dog was gaining and her stomach felt very hard. I have lost two dogs to tumours so was taking no chances. The vet examined her and said there was nothing wrong, she was perfectly fine. No x-rays, no blood tests, just she is fine. I was not satisfied and a couple of days later went to a different vet only to find out she was carrying 6 puppies. I am still waiting for a refund from my visit.

Saw Dr. Borgmann for my cat. Dr. then MISDIAGNOSED my cat with serious heart disease! It's her job to provide accurate checkups and diagnosis; and I paid for an exam. She was very quick to push for all kinds of tests that all cost a lot of money. This Dr. needs to listen to clients who do know about their animals. I only went there for an emergency and I have another vet that I go to all the time. I do not recommend this vet at all; however the staff at desk and assistants are great and deserve high marks. I went to my current Vet and did another exam; absolutely NO HEART DISEASE!!! Sure would be nice to get my examination fee reimbursed by Dr. Borgmann since she doesn't know what she's talking about!!

I’m sorry to be doing this but I am a current client with this hospital, I take in fosters/rescues and recently acquired a foster bunny that needs vaccinations and to be neutered before he gets adopted out. The receptionist (bless her soul) said that they can’t take on new pets even though I already have a file set up with them. She said the doctor is booking 3-4 weeks in advance and I said I would wait that but apparently that’s not allowed. Don’t bother calling if you’re a new client or have a new pet.

I took my new pet rat in for a check up and the vet was very knowledgeable, and spent quite a bit of time chatting with me and did a thorough exam of my girl. The support staff and receptionist was amazing as well. I did call another rat vet, but decided against them as the receptionist was pretty rude....I spelled my last name while making my appointment and she mumbled that "apparently I thought she needed to go back to school". I'm just used to people asking, and I was blown away that she felt like that was appropriate. I let a lot of things slide, but that bothered me. They lost a client that day because of her. I will be going to Coastal Rivers from now on.

Kept trying to call back to speak to the dr. about test results and a plan and kept being told he's in an appointment and they don't know what he wanted to discuss so we will have to try again. The Veterinarian is good. However the lack of communication in staff is frustrating. Our pup was having very adverse side effects from a vaccine she was given. We called back to the vet several times and none of this information was relayed to the vet. We were finally able to speak with the vet a month later which was how we found out she knew nothing about our pups condition even though we had several interactions with the staff informing them of how she was doing. The vet seems she genuinely cares, but perhaps better communication is needed.

This vet is the best vet I've ever been too. They give animals lots of treats and love and try to make the experience as least frightening as possible so animals aren't afraid of the vet. My dog ellie is a bit nervous so the vet isn't her favorite and they make every appointment a positive one. They're patient with her and very caring and they explain things to me clearly so that a regular person can understand the treatment plan and what's going on with they dog. Ellie is always laying down and tail wagging by the end of her appointments even if she was a bit nervous before going inside

I have dealt with Coastal for years. Spent thousands of dollars with my pets there. When calling today for an emergency appointment for my dog, who they have treated before with the same issue, was told Not taking appointments until mid next week, and go to the emergency clinic. We have been up for two nights, the dog is suffering, and I should wait 6 days to be seen by regular doctor, who know the dog and his condition. Alright, I will be going to the emergency clinic, and you will never have a dime of mine again. NO epiphany, hard line, on the receptionist part.

Yesterday, we found a cut on our kittens leg called them and they got her in to see the vet within a couple of hours. The vet called shortly after explained the situation clearly and recommended surgery. She was booked in for today and stayed with them over night. Dr.Lawrence is bar none the best vet I have come across. My Pug Tug required 14 teeth removed to over crowding rotten and infected gums. Dr.Lawrence explained all the hazzards with putting a bully breed under anaesthetic...Dangerous!!!....He completed the surgery without any problems. My dog is so much happier and acts like a puppy again.....Im so happy with the care I received from Dr.Lawrence that all my furbabies will now be in his care.❤
