I've gone to Cattiva a few times for hair-dye and touch-ups (Ivana was great). Last time I asked them to do a soft perm to add volume, so they consulted me, then told me one of the owners will be taking care of it. When I arrived for my appointment I was notified someone else will be doing it, which was unexpected, but I was certain they wouldnt trust it to a rookie. Little did I know the asian woman screwed my hair up so bad that she promptly blowdried my hair over the spots she messed up in a manner so that I wouldnt see WHAT she did to my head. When I came home I noticed I had multiple spots where the hair broke off at the root, and in the span of one week i lost more hair- it simply broke off, leaving me with patches of buzzcut-like hair... It's been 6 months and Im still struggling to cover up the damage done.

Says a lot about a salon that they've kept the same staff for this long). Shoutout to Deppi, who does the best wax in all of Toronto, Yvonna for colour (she's got my brown hair to a beautiful almost-snow white right now) and Paul, Alex and George for a cut, they know their stuff! Ladies with long hair please note he’s not scissors happy! So you don’t have to worry about someone cutting too much! Paul is truly passionate about what he does He is a perfectionist and will measure and cut until it’s exactly the look you were after. As Paul has been cutting, coloring and styling my hair for over 5 years, he knew exactly what styles would interest me. Paul has tried many different styles and colors over the years and even when I would ask to try something new, he would be extremely honest about how he thought it would look or the amount of time it would take to recreate his artwork. This is just one of many qualities which are so important to have in a stylist and which come naturally to Paul. He is talented, dedicated and compassionate about his clients. I am so glad to be back at Cattiva. Truly a family vibe, they pamper you and ensure you are comfortable. Paul is amazing. I was lucky enough to stumble upon him years ago after my previous hair stylist moved to a location too far away for me. Since then, Paul has been my go-to guy. As an actor I can’t afford a bad cut and Paul has kept me looking audition-ready for all these years and done it with a smile. He’s professional, accommodating and just one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet. My only complaint is that HIS hair always looks better than mine :) Kidding obviously, zero complaints and too many compliments to list. Go see him you’ll be glad you did.

Having gone to many different hair salons over my lifetime I have always felt I had to settle for some mediocre barber or stylist. Thankfully that's not the case here. I have been getting my hair cut by Paul over the last two years, and he is probably the best stylist I have ever had. He is incredibly nice, and always willing to accommodate me no matter the request, whenever I go to him I never feel like he rushes his job in order to get to another customer seated and takes his time to make sure it's done well. I have been getting my hair done by Paul for years. I’ve had multiple shades of colour (including an amazing opal pink), as well as long and short cuts, and he always manages to get me through when growing it out long again. Often I just ask him what he wants to do with my hair, that’s how much I respect his professionalism. The man knows! Plus, he is always such a pleasure to chat with and makes everyone feel at ease. Just came home from doing my hair and makeup. Both were poorly done. When asked to fix makeup I was told that I'm not used to it. What I'm not used to is bad work. I asked for a basic style for my hair and I have 2 random curls. I might as well have fallen asleep from a night of heavy drinking rubbed my eyes and woken up to this look. Over time I have grown, and Paul has been able to repeatedly impress me with various styles from a cool slick high school cut to a dapper graduate professional look. One distinct memory I have with Paul was when we were discussing a bald spot and discovered I had a mild case of Alopecia. Paul was able to give me a style that minimized the spot, while also recommending treatment. I sought out a dermatologist and was successfully treated and I can’t thank Paul enough for the recommendation. If you are looking for a quality hair stylist/barber/friend look no further!
