This was my second visit to a Dominion store, the first one was in Mount Pearl, too quick to generate a true opinion until I got the opportunity to have a full grocery shopping experience at Smart Centres. The produce and offering was fresh and very varied, surprised to find certain offerings not available in Quebec. Prices, as I've noticed over the past 21 months, have significantly increased due to the inflation driven by the pandemic all across the board. The experience was sometimes stressful since some shoppers were not wearing masks at all, others only covered the mouth only leaving the nose exposed and others wore it blatantly over the chin with no regards towards other people and evidently not socially distancing, also witnessed these sort of people not sanitizing their hand at the entrance of the store. I understand that following and enforcing hygiene rules and regulations is tiring and challenging, though we're in the middle of an evolving pandemic that come this winter will be more challenging than ever. Shop smart, shop with kindness, vaccinate and follow the rules for everybody's sakes!

Went there for a cooking class with my 4-year-old and she had a great time. It was a sunshine theme so we made sunshine pancakes and cupcakes. The instructor was great with the kids. It was $10 per kid (including the required accompanying adult)

The customer service is horrible EVERY. DANG. TIME. Why are the employees so crabby? Trying to get their attention at the food takeout counter or salad/meat deli takes forever and they ignore you (particularly the older ladies). There are two supervisors there that I dread having to speak to: They are rude and unhelpful. Also...the produce has remained terrible for years. When I buy produce at dominion, it has become moldy or wilted within a day. I do not buy produce here anymore. Not even the points or sales are an incentive to purchase here anymore.

The greedy owners allowed a strike because they don't give the workers what they are worth. I'm sitting here during a pandemic taking care of a sick 90+ year old woman. I used to be able to get everything I needed in one quick stop. Now I have to run around to find what I need. I don't think I'll shop there again. God Bless the Workers who are suffering now because of the trumpian owners.

It's always convenient to shopping at dominion, a lots of options available, grocery, bakery, fruits, vegetables, kitchen ware, clothing, cosmetic, drugs, bedding, seafood, and much more, but unfortunately I haven't seen any Halal food ( chicken, beef lamb or goat) otherwise other stores in the town have some halal food options.

I moved here recently for school and I shopped around for groceries. I found that if you're looking for the best prices per unit of measure, dominion is the best bet. You don't get the best quality, but you get the best price. Produce is hit and miss, which is no different than Sobeys or Walmart. Meat is excellent, especially when you get a sale. I'm a student so Im forced to shop cheap. They have 50% off racks of produce and bread usually which is awesome. They go overkill on the tags though, some are large and bright, which if you aren't paying attention, they usually don't mean the item is on sale. They usually mean it's just an everyday value or a multiple buy. Fresh bread is great, and the staff are great. One last thing, just pay attention when they ring your items through, some of the sales are missed in the system. Just mention it was on sale and they make the adjustment.

Poor customer service, I have never been to a place with such bad service. I was in the speedy checkout lane with my friend we both combined had less then 24 items In our cart, and it would have been less then 12 items each and it was two seperate transactions. There were two cashiers both saying we had two many items and we explained it's two transactions. The repeatedly kept saying we had to many. They were very rude and would not listen to what we had to say. Needless to say we were not in the wrong, and the cashiers we very rude. We still thanked them and wished them a happy new year and they never said ANYTHING !! I will never return to this dominion.

Dominion, Blackmarsh Road, is said to be one of the best. Dominion's around. Their President's Choice product's for the most part are just as good as the brand name product's. But I beg to differ on them being the best Dominion around. I find that Dominion in the old Memorial Stadium to have better prices and their Joe apparel has so much more clothing. It really depends on what you are looking for. Dominion, Blackmarsh Road, has a walk-in Clinic and Pharmacy and the Pharmacy has a drive through. And I find that they have a big selection of household goods and the such. Like I said, it really depend's {n what you are looking for and with regards to price's, it depends on what you are willing to pay for them. Btw, Dominion Blackmarsh Road bank machine is no longer with President's Choice and it costs money just to use it!! Happy Shopping!!!

Massive Dominion in St. John's. Huge selection of goods and a massive area for food. There is a nice dining area up top with a great view of the store. Blackmarsh Health Clinic can only be accessed by going in the main Dominion entrance, but the NLC currently has a separate door, as of September the 21st.

Love the variety. The accessibility to top and lower shelves tend to be difficult for a person with mobility issues. Food aisles were uncluttered and clean. Freezers were at appropriate temps - condensation and frost free. Clothing aisles are much too close in most areas for a person using a Walker or wheelchair. Bathroom was a disaster.

Thos place is huuuuge. The Meals To Go has great variety near mealtimes, but sides are limited to fries at other times. If you dont see the rotisserie chicken, or your choice of leg/thigh or breat, just ask. They will take a whole chicken and promptly cut it up to get you what you want. Their bakery-made white bread is so soft and fresh. Plus they serve Ace bakery products. The best baguettes ever.

I have found the staff very rude here on more than one occasion. The store is untidy and price labels are often missing. I witnessed customer service be horribly ignorant towards a customer and then rude to me. After emailing them about such an incident I never even received a response let alone an apology. This is THE worst grocery store I have ever shopped at.

I'm a cook so I shop at Dominion a lot but something really ticked me off there today. They have these 2 for 5 specials all the time where you have to pay full price if you don't actually buy 2 products which I undetstand bit what pissed me off is when I bought 2 wonder bread products, a pack of hotdog buns and a loaf of bread, and got charged full price. Apparently I had to buy 2 of the same product of the same brand. I mean seriously? I'm a single woman with no kids sp I certainly don't need 2 packs of hotdog buns and 2 loaves of bread. To me that's just completely ridiculous and greedy considering our current economy. I spend quite a bit of money at Dominion and recommend it to my clients but as of today I'll be shopping elsewhere and recommending elsewhere..not impressed!!

This is a huge grocery store that sells a little of everything, from housewares, clothing, to cell phones, there's also an optical shop along with a Medical Walk-In clinic, there's a pharmacy and NLC retail outlet. Was at your store this morning went to use public washroom, I wouldn't put a dog in there. With all the Covid 19 issues ongoing the management should be ashamed to have the washroom like this. The door needs a good cleaning or painting, to go a little further may be the whole washroom should be painted. The room needs a good cleaning garbage hasn't been cleared paper all over the floor, was that dirty I wouldn't use the sink to wash my hands, I used sanitizer in my car. On exiting I went to customer service desk and left a message for management on duty, I also spoke with young girl at the self check out who told me there was a cleaner on last night! He done a great job.

Horrible service, Spent over $800 and they came out in a storm with everything piled up nothing in bags. Made substitutions with more expensive items with out checking with me. Asked for a manager they just left us sitting outside to load 300 items with no bags! Broken Eggs Crushed Breads and everything soaked from the storm. A true joke so disappointed never had an issue out west but obvious have to find somewhere else to shops o use this service as I am disabled but THEY DIDNT help one bit

Visited the smoke shop in Dominion this morning and when I asked to see the cigars the sales person seemed annoyed. She did not know anything about cigars and to know the prices she would have had to check each one. At least have someone working there that gives a little less attitude and knows something about the products being sold.

This is easily the best Dominion location in the city. It is usually very well stocked. It is well laid out and it is pretty easy to find everything that you need. It has a great clothing section as well as toys abd housewares sections. The lady who served me today was very nice. She (Natasha I believe is her name) was a model of good customer service.

Good location, but most times they do not have their weekly specials as advertised in their flyer. You can request a Rain Check though, so when the items comes into the store you get the sale price.

One of the better dominions in town , would suggest stavanger drive if you have transportation other then the bus though because there biggest downfall would be the staff in many cases, also the produce department is one of the worst I've come across, barely able to get good fruits and vegetables that are not a day or two away from being spoiled .. wal-mart on stavanger is blowing them out the water in my opinion, in regards to there produce and meats for that matter aswell

I really appreciate the fact that Dominion has a wide range of their products for sale but at a lower price than other super markets such as Sobeys and/or No frills. I always find that the items that are in the weekly flyers are actually available to purchase when you go to get them whereas other supermarkets such as the ones mentioned above always tell you that they have nothing left and offer you a raincheck which is fair however they should have been better prepared for such situations especially when it seems to be repetitive or at least it seems to be that way from my own personal experience and I am reporting my personal experience on a time frame of over 15 yrs regarding this very issue

This is a really good store. My wife faint in there almost two month ago. I have my son with me but he was only 18 month old. The worker helps me right away. One of them play with my son to keep him calm. One of them get a chair for my wife to sit and water and called ambulance. A lots worker come helped. And the manager of the store came to check my wife too. They helped a lot. And than they gave us the grocery for free that day. They are all really nice people. And it is a really nice store. Thanks a lot.

This is the worst Dominion I've entered in many years. The store looked untidy and not well maintained. Many of the cooler and freezer doors kept falling open and most of them had gaps between the doors, the seals broken, shredded and in disrepair. Don't know how they'll keep milk or other perishable products fresh. The only reason I give it 1 star was because the clerk who served me was kind, helpful professional and polite.

October 17 2018 first day of legal marijuana. Went to the Dominion to see what was happening line ups were not crazy. Staff was quick but not exactly knowledgable. Product was lemon skunk, it looked and smelled just as good as it tasted!! Instead of 420 maybe we should say 1718 lol good luck be safe and enjoy!!

This is my grocery store in Newfoundland. They have everything you'd want (in-store deli with hot food, fresh salads/juices, a bakery, health foods, seafoods, pharmacy, vegan section etc). They often have racks of obscure specialty items on discount (they must bring them in from other stores cuz I nvr see these items on the regular shelves). They also have great non-advertised deals around the store (50% stickers) and a flashfood.com fridge. They could water their leafy greens more often to prevent wilting would be my only suggestion. Luvs this Dominion and I support their workers' rights and living wage request.

Very impressed with how this particular Dominion is dealing with the covid pandemic. Only allowing 75 people in the store, having a greeter to let you know if it is okay to go in as to not overpopulate the store, sanitizing the carts, clearly marked entrance and exits, and spacious so it enables you to keep your distance from other customers. Thanks for the great job!

It was just before 9:00pm as we entered the store and went straight to the bakery. On the way to the bakery we saw an employee head into the back and not return. There were premade cupcakes we wanted but no one in sight. After waiting a few minutes another employee (who didn’t seem too impressed we asked for assistance) told us they were closed and didn’t get us the cupcakes. Seemed like they didn’t want to help us at all or make the sale. We didn’t bother asking anyone else for help as we kinda mind-blown over the poor customer service. We then went to Walmart where we got what we wanted and there were employees still available to help.

Upon entering the store, there were only 4 "small" carts available. We had to walk around the store looking for a cart that could seat a baby. The next thing that was awful was the washrooms. My 4 year old had to use the washroom, the stench I'm the females washroom was terrible. I don't think anyone had checked the washrooms in a while, there was tissue in each unflushed toilet. Even my 4 year old was disgusted by this. If she wasn't about to pee I'm her pants we would have waited to go home. To top all of this trip to dominion off.. my little girl wanted to look at the lobsters. There were 2 in the tank deceased. Nobody around the seafood section to clean them out. This dominion has to be the grossest one I have visited ever.

Paid 85$ just to get HALF of what I paid for(NOT EVEN THE RIGHT KIND EITHER) was told there’s nothing they would do about it because it was “opened” already, YES they can give me the rest they owe me OR my money back.Especially for my first time being in the province I am not happy whatsoever!!!

This is a grocery store fairly standard with slightly better prices and variety then main competitor Sobeys. Also includes a Joe Fresh section and limited amounts of housewear/electronics. If your from the mainland -- or any island other than than those located in Newfoundland and Labrador -- dominion is the same as Lablaws or Superstore, just a different name.
