I've had several large fillings done by Dr. Xu. The dentist and his assistants go out of their way to accommodate my aversion to needles and made the whole process a breeze. They use a computerized injection system instead of a traditional needle to freeze just one or two teeth at a time. It's virtually painless and the isolated anesthetic works extremely well. The hygienists are also excellent. Friendly, professional and very attentive.

Found this dental clinic through UBC’s dental insurance direction of dentists that have additional discount. I needed 2 wisdom teeth extraction but was really hesitant because the last time I had my wisdom teeth (bottom ones) pulled out my face was swollen for 2 weeks and it hurt like hell. But this time with Dr Xu it was like magic. The staff here is really attentive, caring, and provided lots of information as I went through the procedure. It took about 10 min to get both upper wisdom teeth out. The clinic also followed up with emails checking in to see how my wounds are healing, and gave me a care sheet to guide how I can take care after the procedure. It only took three days for my sockets to completely heal. The best dental experience I’ve ever had so far!

The service Dr. Xu provided to my wife had no technical issues. He seems nice, patient and knowledgeable. A red flag you should watch out is that he unceremoniously & unilaterally blacklisted us after only one consultation and I hope that we are the only lucky one. So be very prepared if you're denied for good 5 mins after a 'nice and patient' treatment.

Dr Xu is very professional. I have all my wisdom teeth removed under a small time window and the recovery is very good. The front desk receptionist Karena is very nice and warm hearted. This is one of the two best dental clinics in Metro Vancouver, the other being The Dentists @ Metrotown in Burnaby. Dr. Yanbin Xu is not only highly educated, with doctoral degrees in dentistry from prestigious universities in Canada, Japan and China, but also has a wealth of nearly 30 years' extensive research and clinical experiences worldwide. I feel that he cares about his patients above anything else. He could spend 45 minutes just filling a cavity perfectly through a microscope, while by average most dentists would spend less than half an hour doing the same work with their naked eye. In addition, he is a great master of all the cutting edge dental equipments, with which he is able to offer the most meticulous and precise dental work that few other dentists I have had in Vancouver can compete with. He and his assistants and staff are all personable, attentive and super friendly. I have no complaints and I highly recommend this clinic to everyone.

Dr. Xu and his assistants were beyond excellent for my removal of 3 wisdom teeth, including one that was horizontal and impacted! I was originally pretty terrified of the idea, and saw Youtube videos of people swollen and aching for weeks after their procedures. That was absolutely not the case...I was put under local anaesthetic (so I watched movies during the operation), only took one painkiller on the first night, and had no noticeable swelling and only minimal pain after just one day. The doctor and his assistants are also exceptionally caring and encouraging during the operation. I'd enthusiastically recommend to anyone!

For the past couple of years, I was one of those people who struggled with a moderate degree of dental anxiety. Why? No particular reason; my past experiences had been largely good ones. Just one of those things. I've had a lot of work done over the years, but had fallen into a period of not going for the past two and a half years or so. I felt bad about it, but didn't know how to snap out of the cycle. A couple of years ago, I bought into the Olympic Village area literally right around the corner from False Creek Pure Dental. I walked by the clinic multiple times a day, liked what I saw and felt, and told myself that, one day, I'd become a patient there. Finally, a few weeks ago, I summoned the courage to reach out to them via their website, and request a new patient exam and cleaning. (For me, this was a big step). A big part of what makes False Creek Pure Dental special is the exceptional degree of personal care you feel. Within 24 hours of submitting that form online. Dr. Xu called me personally to schedule an appointment. When I went for my check-up and cleaning, I was nervous, but, when you walk into the office, the immediate feeling is one of welcoming and that you've come to exactly the right place. Dr. Xu, Sibylle, and Lexie are highly professional, gentle, and experienced. Abigail at the front desk worked with me to help connect the clinic's billing to my insurance, and the technology evident in the office is impressive. While you're having a routine dental exam, you can literally see via camera what Dr. Xu sees - or, if you'd prefer, you can just watch Netflix. I felt seen, cared for, and appreciated, with every question I had answered, and those feelings did a lot to make me feel good about continuing to go. Dr. Xu is especially knowledgeable about wisdom teeth (which I still have), and it was great to be able to talk through plans for them with him. False Creek Pure Dental is a welcoming, professional, experienced, and safe place for all of your dental needs. It's really great to have this clinic less than a block from home. I'd recommend it highly to people in the market for a new dental office, those with specific issues related to wisdom teeth, and any other general dentistry need.

This was the best dental experience i've ever had! I am not a fan of the dentist as I have very sensitive teeth and am not good with dental pain or discomfort of any kind. Dr. Hsien and her dental assistant Sybil went above and beyond to make me feel as comfortable as possible and I definitely have found my forever dental clinic! Also - they direct bill for insurance and they have the most advanced technology to make your experience the smoothest it can be. I had to get 3 fillings and they were all done without any injections or freezing due to their laser technology that is minimally invasive. No numbing or anaesthetic used and I only experienced some slight sensitivity through the entire process. Thank you all :)

They also overbook their schedule and don't honor appointments (had to wait twice in excess of 30 minutes); you will also get a freebie for a good review, this was advertised at the reception. The doctor does the job well, but so are many other dentists around. Cannot recommend.

I've been coming to Dr. Xu for over a year and a half, so this isn't a review based off one experience. I can confidently say that all their staff including their lovely front desk administrator are kind and professional. Dr. Xu is quick, efficient, and knowledgeable. They have new technology and he shows you high def pictures so you can visually see what is going on with your teeth. Twice I've had small cavities filled, and each time Dr. Xu and especially Sybian (not sure if I spelled that right) work to make me feel comfortable. Today he told me he was 99% sure I didn't need freezing and that I wouldn't feel a thing as he drilled my tooth. I was still scared. 10 minutes later I left with a filled tooth in which I felt literally nothing during the procedure. THANK YOU DR. XU AND TEAM!

I just had my last wisdom tooth removal by Dr. Xu. PAINLESS!!!!!! Compared to my other 3 wisdom teeth surgeries by 3 different dentists, this is the best experience of all. I told Dr. Xu I always had a fear of needle injections. So He decided to use his new computer controlled anesthesia machine to freeze my tooth. It didn't hurt at all. He literally got my wisdom tooth taken out in 5 mins. Again, didn't hurt at all. I didn't have to take any painkiller after the surgery or have any trouble of eating/talking. Dr. Xu is very honest, professional and confident with what he does. His assistant is one of the most warmhearted people I have ever seen. If you are afraid of needles like me, make sure ask him to use the special anesthesia machine on your teeth. Highly recommended!!!!!!!????????

This clinic is great! When my filling fell out, I called several clinics and this was one of two clinics where Karena, the receptionist, was very friendly. At first there were booked for the week and I hung up to continue the hunt for a clinic that could see me sooner. However, proactively, Karena called me back and said they found a spot. With their fair prices and accessible location, I picked this clinic and I'm glad I did. Dr. Xu was informative, patient and careful. He explained the pros and cons of different methods (i.e. temporary vs. permanent filling), showed animated videos to explain filling a cavity vs. root canal, and took detailed pictures before and after the filling. Karena also followed up via email to see how I was and said I could come back in for an adjustment if I need so. So far I don't but I don't feel like I would be unwelcomed if I were to go back in.
